We are just back from our 2nd stay at this wonderful site. On arriving and booking in we were given a welcome pack in which was info about ticks and how to deal with them, so they have addressed the previous reviewers problem.
As I said we have stayed here before and have booked for next year as well, this is a fantastic site for relaxing or for visiting places, and for the kids who love the park. This year we walked the footpath from Lulworth cove to Durdle door which is stunning.
My only gripe was that the site was full for the first few days we were there and they were cleaning one half of the shower block at 7. 30 ish in the morning which resulted in queues, perhaps this could be done earlier or later?
Still love this site and I'm counting the days to next summer.

We stayed at The Inside Park campsite for 3 days with our tent and two children (2 & 8). We were welcomed and shown a place on the site. All very quick and no delays. The pitch we had was level and in between the toilet block and the play ground which was a good spot, although a bit open in the middle of the park.
The showers and toilets were OK, clean, although there was a queue in the morning for the showers at certain peak times.
For the size of the campsite we were surprised that there was only one toilet/shower block as some people would have to walk quite a long way.
The playground was big, fun and well maintained, open from 9 am till 9 pm, which suited us very well. It meant that children would go back to their tent after 9 - 9. 30 pm and the site was quiet soon after.
Do think about going here if you don't have children though, I think every tent had them and there was a lot of noise during the day. Which didn't bother us, as we had our own noise makers, but is something to consider.
It was quiet at night though. I wish other sites managed to be this quiet at night!
All together a nice stay. The only real annoyance was the lack of fellow campers using the recycling properly and throwing everything into the general waste bin. But hardly the campsites fault! At least they have decent recycling, although could have been a bit better signed. Plastic in the recycling, which plastics? Shop was a bit overpriced also.

This was our second trip to The Inside Park having first visited in June 2009. We were camping with friends this time round and had pitches 83 and 81, both with hookup, in the woods at the side of the park. These were decent sized pitches and we didn't feel like we were short of space or too close to anyone around us.
Rather frustratingly though, there were plenty of adjacent pitches in the main area free but to our disappointment, these appeared to be kept as a priority for 3 night weekend stays for big groups rather than longer stays (we were there for 12 nights).
The area we were pitched in was very quiet (not ideal when your party has 6 children!) and surrounded by trees which meant that you didn't get much of the sunshine - it was also quite a spooky walk through the woods to the toilet block late at night although all the paths in the site are well lit with lamp-posts at regular intervals.
By the end of our first week, the park had become very busy as the English schools stopped for holidays and there were queues for showers, toilets and dishwashing - the main field would definitely benefit from an additional amenity block. Once the park got busy, the cleaners seemed to be ever present, although this didn't prevent the ladies loos running out of toilet tissue by 8pm.
The owners are not overbearing, you see them wandering around morning and night doing their checks. They were helpful when we asked to change our pitch as the one we'd been allocated initially was a little small.
The showers are free flowing which made a great change from the pushbutton ones and there was always plenty of hot water. The toilets are in two sections and there was always at least one section open whilst the other was being cleaned.
Our kids used the games room playing table tennis and pool a few times. The games room also has the wi-fi connection point - wi-fi is free which was great for our iPod addicted 10 year old! There are also lots of tourist info leaflets in here and a book exchange.
There is a big playpark with swings, slides and lots of other things to play on - our younger children (aged 5) spent lots of time here. Its been upgraded since our last visit with some new equipment and now has a fence around it. Its in the main field and has bark as the play surface so its safe. Its also very well kept, plenty of bins around for empty crisp packets!
The on site shop has all the essentials, as you'd expect, rather overpriced but as previous reviews have stated, there are shops and supermarkets in Blandford, a 5 minute drive away. Make sure you have plenty change if you're parking in Blandford - there's no on street or free parking, Morrison's carpark is £1. 20 per hour.
The site has an arrangement with the local butcher where you can get a 10% discount. In high season, there are caterers on site at the weekends doing cooked breakfasts and a couple of speciality nights during the week. There was a Thai curry night and a Hog roast whilst we were there - £5 for a roll with pork at the hogroast (veg and salad £1. 80 extra) and £1. 50 for a cup of tea with the breakfast. There's also a fish and chip van which comes round on a Monday night - this was very popular!
There are laundry facilities with sinks for handwashing as well as washing machines and tumble dryers. You'll find a payphone in here too with lots of menus for the local takeaways which will deliver to the site.
The laundrette in Blandford will do you a service wash - we paid £10 for a holdall sized load - well worth it after a couple of muddy days!
In general, we would echo the comments in previous reviews - The Inside Park is a well kept, lovely site in a fabulous location and definitely worth a visit. There are lots of people we met who were loyal visitors, several of the campers / caravanners we spoke to had been many years in succession, a definite sign that its a great place to holiday and I'm sure we'll return again.

We are a family of five - 2 adults and 3 children aged 10, 8 and 7 - and have just returned from the Inside Park after 12 nights. We were camping on pitch 28 and in party with my sister in law and her family.
On the whole, we have had a fabulous fortnight on the campsite. The play area and woodland were perfect for our children and gave them the degree of freedom they don't get at home. Our pitch was relatively flat and under a tree, which gave some shelter from the sunshine. There was ample space for us to pitch our large tent and have the Outwell shelter over the picnic benches in front.
It is not a cheap campsite and our pitch cost us the most I have ever paid. I did think that the facilities were a little tired but adequate; there were a few minor niggles such as the toilet paper running out in the evenings but the main issue was the small minority of other campers not cleaning up after themselves in the shower rooms and washing up area.
I would recommend the County Museum in Dorchester if it is raining, it cost £14 for a family ticket and kept the children entertained for a couple of hours. I cannot say the same for the Dinosaur Museum which I felt was very over priced.
Further afield we spent a day in the New Forest (less than an hour's drive), hunted for fossils at Charmouth and had a trip on the chain link ferry between Sandbanks and Studland.
On the whole, I felt I had value for money from the campsite. The owners are very hands-off (other than locking the playground at 9pm making bedtime much easier to handle!) and the area is just beautiful.

This is a fantastic site great pitch plenty of room, great location 20 minutes drive to most tourist sites.
Kids loved the enormous play park and football pitch. Things quientened down around 11.
Good walks for the dog three different levels all marked out, including the llamas.
Toilets clean and showers hot. Can order takeaways but pub nearby was excellent for food and small town and market a delight
Loved it kids felt safe on their bikes and the trip to monkey world was their highlight of the 2 weeks

We stayed here for a week as part of our mini tour.
The site is pretty easy to find and is an really good part of the country to get out and about, there is loads to do in Dorset and the surrounding area. There are 2 major supermarkets within a few minutes drive from the site and a brewery right on the doorstep!
This site is most definitely a site for families and groups and is easily situated for lots of local attractions,
although the site is a very popular and busy one, there really wasn't any over crowding and the pitches are quite nicely placed with some really lovely pitches tucked away in the woodland area,
the diversity of the pitches was great in my opinion but parents with young children (without a portable loo) might want to request a pitch a bit closer to the facilities block, as this a was quite a distance from some of the pitches themselves.
The play area is fantastic and the opening and closing times (9 till 9) are a great idea to keep the park settled, there are plenty of other things to do on site and our lad really enjoyed making numerous 'dens' in the wooded areas.
There are 3 walking/cycle trails that lead you from the site and back again that I thought were a nice touch.
PROS.
* Generous pitch sizes.
* Great location.
* Well maintained on the whole.
* Friendly site.
* Well stocked shop.
CONS.
* Ticks
* The pitches are very sloped in places.
* The facilities were quite dirty on occasion (not completely the sites fault I know but considering the amount of people staying on site, I personally thought they could have been cleaned more often)
* I didn't get the personal touch we have received from other sites and only saw the owners on arrival.
* The most expensive site we have ever stayed at!
On the whole this is a great site and the owners do a good job of maintaining it, It would have been nice to have seen the them around the site chatting to campers etc but I think that this is a personal expectation of mine as we have been spoilt elsewhere.
This site is most definitely about location, location, location and deserves the good reviews that it has received, however I am not sure that it warrants the pitch prices that are charged.
Having said that, we are going back next year as our littlun had a great time and made some lovely friends (as did we) and there are many things that we have yet to explore.

We stayed at The Inside Park in peak season & it was packed! The pitches were large, however, they squeezed as many into the site as they possibly could.
The toilets were clean for about 15 mins after the cleaner had left, the rest of the time - yuk!
We had pitch no. 60 which was basically hard mud, not a blade of grass in sight. Plus our electric lead had to run across the road so another car was constantly parked on it.
Kids play park was good, plenty of equipment to keep them amused.
Had a lot of rain during the holiday and whilst that is not the sites fault, the site had inadequate drainage so it ended up boggy very quickly.
There seems to be a problem with ticks so be prepared to cover arms and legs when walking around the more wooded areas of the site.
Unlike the Caravan Club and Camping & Caravan Club sites, everyone there seemed miserable and after several hellos from us and no reply, we gave up with the pleasantries. Would never go again!

We're just back from a two week stay at the Inside Park and it was like a holiday of two halves. The first week was before the english school holidays, and it was bliss - the site was peaceful, never any queues for the showers, we almost had the run of the place.
The second week however was totally different - we were on pitch 34, and even though the pitches are very generous we had other units on all sides of us and the noise at times was amazing.
There were queues for showers in the busy times both morning and evening, and the toilets regularly ran out of paper in the evenings. As a rule we prefer to try different sites each year anyway, but if I were ever to return to this site it would definitely be outwith the english school holidays. It made us realise how much we value the smaller sites we usually visit.
I have to say though, we loved the site, the kids had an amazing time on their bikes through the woods and the play park is the best we've seen. The facilities were clean and there was always hot water, and I especially liked the sinks in cubicles, allowing you to wash and brush teeth in privacy.
Another point which I haven't seen mentioned in the reviews - the tap water on site is incredibly hard - there were calcium deposits forming in our tea, not great! So might pay to invest in a water filter or buy bottled water.
The washing machines cost £2 per use and the tumble drier eats 20 pence pieces at an alarming rate!
There is so much to do in the local area and there are fantastic butchers (Mato's) and bakers (Reeves) in Blandford!

Visited during summer holidays in our tent. Nice site that is well kept. Toilets facilities were ok, but they need more showers (always had to wait).
Ladies toilets became quite unkept towards the end of the day and you have to find a cubicle with loo roll (I ended up taking my own). Plenty of hot water, but they do keep going cold!
Free wi-fi at the games room was a good bonus. It did come in quite expensive for what you get for your money (over £34. 00 a night)but the huge park kept the kids amused (locked at 9pm).
Most staff were friendly, but the one lady seemed rather 'unhappy' a lot of the time, and one of her comments reduced me to tears, to the point that I wanted to come home early.
The shop stocks the basics, but is over priced (as are most camp sites).
Most pitches are sloped and we all had problems sleeping at night because we were rolling of our beds.
If you want a lazy holiday with kids then this park is for you. Personally, we will not return. I like to have toilets that are clean with plenty of loo roll! If you want a quiet holiday, do not come here! Kids everywhere (including ours).

First a massive thank you to Lal12 for the advice about the ticks. Our dogs got covered every day from woodland walks but also picked up a few from sitting around the tent. We were prepared. Frontline and the tic removal tool. Unfortunately the on site shop does not sell these removers so make sure you take one with you. Shop take note please!
Apart from the above - the site was stunning. While on a woodland walk, we saw deer's, masses of beautiful butterflies and other wildlife. The park is so peaceful until 4am when every bird in the land sang its morning song, and if that doesn't wake you up - check your pulse! You do get used to it.
Site facilities are excellent, cleaners were in there on a regular basis. Showers were hot and free running. On site shop was well stocked.
There is an entertainment room that has 2 table tennis tables, and a couple of pool/snooker tables. Cues, balls and bats can be hired for a small fee that is refunded on return.
The site is run by lovely friendly people and we would highly recommend The Inside Park to anyone wanting a peaceful break.
We would definitely go back again but not with the dogs, I couldn't cope with the tic problem.
