I thought this was a quirky site, set in the wooded parkland of the lost Georgian manor house (look out for the funny shaped tree). We were able to park the caravan by the hookup whichever way we liked, but the uneven ground did cause a problem with levelling the carvan for one of our group so be sure to find a flat area to park.

This site has an abundance of walks around the perimeter, ideal for dogs. However, the canine member of our group became rather fed up of having ticks removed from her fur (literature provided warns of these ticks and advises on how to deal with them) Plenty of wildlife to be seen in and around the park.

The toilet blocks were quite a walk but I preferred this to being right next to them and it was a novelty walking through the trees. For the less able, there are pitches next to the toilet blocks and office.

However, I wouldn't want to stay there as there was a rather nasty niff from the drains, although this may have been nipped in the bud now. The loos themselves were serviceable but not great as they were basic and quite dated. The toilet bowls were in need of a good dose of Domestos + there were sheets of the thin toilet tissue scattered about.

For children, the play area was the best I had ever seen. Despite being twice the age limit, we had to have a go when nobody was looking (we didn't break anything).

Throughout the stay we had something to do or a place to see every day and still didn't get round to most things. Its a brilliant place for a holiday as there is just so much in the area!

We visited the well known places, Lulworth Cove and the Tank Museum at Bovington (brilliant) We had a drive out into ther New Forest area too. As a fan of 90s sitcom ' One Foot in the Grave' I was delighted to have my photo taken outside of 'Victor Meldrew's house' (him+Margaret were not in)! The set of the program is in fact at Walkford nr Christchurch Some might say the 20 mile trip to '19 Riversbank' (a little imagination required) was a bit of a waste but I don't believe it!

I have reviewed this site before, but this visit was for longer and in peak season.

This site is beautiful, lots of lovely trees and wooded areas, some pitches are very open, some are hidden away behind hedgerows.

There were a few things on this visit, I felt could be improved upon. Firstly it was very hot but and the freezer they used for freezing ice blocks just didn't really do the job. I had my thin ones in for 10 days and they weren't nearly frozen when I collected them.

The shop also could have done with selling some fresh bread and vegetables.

The last thing on the negative side (there are far more positive things) were the loo blocks. They have ridiculous loo roll that you have to pull out, its so thin that by the time you have yanked some out, it falls all over the floor. Thus leaving the floor in a right mess. On two occasions I had to go and ask the owners to clean the loos are they really were revolting.

However, I absolutely loved staying here and would have no hesitation in recommending this site. It is truly lovely and a real break from the outside world!

This site is entered by driving into the woods but then opens up into a surprisingly large clearing. The pitch sizes were huge and there was no road noise.

The staff were friendly and helpful and there were plenty of showers and toilets which were very clean and well looked after.

The children's play area is the best I have ever seen with play equipment for all ages from the youngest child to teenagers. There is an indoor games room with pool and table tennis for rainy days. We went on 2 of 3 woodland walks which are of varying lengths where we saw alpacas and a deer.

This was a good base and we did go to Bournemouth, Lyme Regis and Weymouth.

We will definitely go back.

This was my second visit to the site.

A large site set in very nice surroundings, large mature trees and pleanty of room for kids to play, a very good play area well away from most pitches so no problem with noise.

Good facilities on site, and a good location for touring.

A lot of pitches are sloping thus making it difficult to get level, if using an awning quite difficult to get it right, make sure you have levelling ramps.

We were lucky and had a level pitch but shaded with the trees.

However this did not distract and we had an enjoyable stay and would recommend

Just spent a weekend at the Inside Park in glorious sunshine! Overall very much liked the campsite, will list things under pro's and con's:

Pro's:

Big spacious pitches

Very clean and well kept

Out in beautiful countryside with no road/traffic noise

A beautiful looking campsite

Shop has everything you need

Good games room if the weather was bad

Plenty of loos and showers with hot water, mostly clean and tidy bar a bit of paper around

Lots of washing up / clothes washing areas

Excellent play area

Silent as a mouse after 10pm

Blandford, with all usual town shops 3 mins away

Wooden picnic table and chairs provided

Very well drained - even after the torrential rain the pitch was dry and not boggy

Powerful EHU - dealt with our large usage with no tripping out

Con's:

Charged 20p per ice block to use their freezer

Toilet block can be a little walk away depending on where you pitch

It is not a flat site, very few flat pitches in the main camping area

Caravan users who store their caravans with them get the best pitches from what we saw - leaving visitors on the slopey plots - and we booked 3 months in advance!

There were a lot of dogs during our visit with the caravan storers and barking during the night

Overall very happy with the site, I would definitely return, but I don't like the way all the best flat pitches are used for people who store their caravans there and wheel them out for their weekends on site.

As a visitor we did feel were were plonked on whichever sloping pitch they have left, even when you book a long way in advance.

The only flat pitches not used were under huge beautiful trees which kept you in shade all day, not most people's cup of tea in a tent as its cold under them, so slopey is the only option.

This was our first trip here and decided to do our first easter camp and brave the changing weather forecasts.

Well it seems all the reviews were spot on, this really is a superb site.

On arrival we were greeted and shown to our pitch which was large and spacious.

The first day it rained all day and although we were at the bottom of the hill in the no dog area the ground drained extremely well. Just take note the ground was quite hard in places and our limited supply of rock pegs went in ok but bent a fair few other pegs.

The kids loved the big play park and due to the location of the site itself we had no problems letting our 4 year old wander off to the playground on his own. All the walks around the park are part of the estate and some of the forest at this time of year was pretty muddy with the rain but added to the adventure.

We also did the non road cycle route we were given at reception into town. We were quite proud of our 7 year old managing it all especially as its mostly uphill on the way back.

There are quite a few geocaches around town too if you are into that.

The town butchers with the 10% discount for those staying indside park was a nice touch, the burgers were superb.

The toilets and showers were always clean and well maintained, top marks for that inside park.

At night all went quiet after the playpark closed at 9pm and then it was only the odd voice, owls hooting and the buzzards calling you could hear.

The washing up area was more than adequate and undercover. On the rainy days we could use the games room and played table tennis, table football and pool with the kids and could also charge our phones and catch up on emails with the free wifi point here too.

Will we go back ? Yes yes and yes, our retro bright yellow and blue tent loved it here just as we did.

We have just arrived back from the most relaxing time at this stunning caravan site. We stayed for 3 nights and couldn't fault this caravan site. We were shown to a huge size pitch by the really friendly guy in the reception who was really informative about the dos and donts. The scenery was amazing and the children loved the forest walks again shown on a map given to us when we arrived. The children's play area was really safe and lots of equipment for the children to play on. The toilet/shower block were spotless. I can not praise this site highly enough. Cant wait to go back.

This was the second time we had stayed here this year and it was just as good both times.

It is a lovely peaceful campsite set in parkland that was once part of a large estate - of which only the stable block remains (which is now the shop/games room/loos/showers etc).

We were given the same pitch we had been on in June - just next to a large tree with hookup and water not very far away. We also managed to get hold of a picnic bench so we could sit outside and eat comfortably.

The staff were helpful and friendly, the loos and showers were hot and clean, other than where some campers had sadly not used the mop to clean up the showers after themselves - but this was not the fault of the campsite staff!

We have found it is a great place to stay to break up the journey between the SW and our home in East Anglia.

When we were here in June we had food at The Stour Inn. The landlord was very friendly and the food was amazing and well priced. Just thought I would mention!

We would only make one small point - that is the height of the showers, which are great for us short people, but taller people may find that they are too low!

That is a very small point and it is a lovely campsite. We will probably use it again!

Second visit back and still great, it shows when it was full the entire time and no vacancies, still stand by my first review last year and hoping to get booked in again for next year (pitches already booked up some weeks.

Play park has been added to (didn't think it was possible and found a free WIFI point, but limited range to the games room only.

I know this isn't a full review, just a post to say we were completely happy and relaxed once again

Kids still loved it and will re book next year if there's room, recommended for touring the area

This was our second visit to this site, and it was as good as our first visit. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the showers are hot, no matter what time of day you use them, they are cleaned regularly, and the laundry/washing up facilities are kept clean as well.

This is a great site for bigger tents, as they are very generous with the pitch sizes. The play area for the children is open from 9am until 9pm, and is probably the best play area I have seen on a campsite.

This is a great location for Monkey World, Weymouth, Poole, (in Poole there is Splashdown Waterpark for the kids, it is huge and they will love it) or if you fancy going further afield, Lyme Regis.

There is a local brewery around the corner that do tours and a great old pub in the town, The Dolphin, which is a proper old pub, wooden floors, wooden tables, great beer.

There are some lovely walks around the site, a great site for families, with plenty to do or go and see while you are there.

My favourite site, we will come back again. Highly Recommended. A+
