Just come back from a week of beautiful weather in Dorset. First time staying at The Inside Park

We would not normally go during half-term, but we were meeting friends and had to suffer our first weekend at the end of the holidays. Having said that the site was big enough to accommodate everybody and the facilities were plentiful and clean (helped by the dry weather). Despite the size it doesn’t feel too commercial and the layout is great. But it is big and popular so don’t expect sunny weekends and holiday times to be quiet. We also found that because of the woodland there was a lot of very early bird noise, apart from going for the early morning wee a bit sooner it was then nice to get back in to bed and drift-off listening to it.

There is loads of private woodland you can access from the site to walk the dog and for children to play in. The children’s play area looked good too with stacks of activity equipment ( I was tempted). The shop is well stocked and the family that run it are helpful. There are good walks from the site too.

Much of the site has some slope to it, most is quite gentle, but there is very little flat area. The site seemed dry and well drained although a couple of spots were still waterlogged after the heavy rain earlier in the week. The nearest pub is a good 30min walk away but there are good facilities in Blandford including 2 supermarkets and local fresh food shops. Further afield there were plenty of good country pubs.

We would certainly go back.

We had a fabulous week at The Inside Park. Very good facilities but a bit muddy later on? This did not detract at all from a great stay. Loved the free and always hot water. Play area fab for the children. It is shut at 9pm so things quieten down to some extent. If you want to be really peaceful then it would be best to pick a pitch that is away from this part of the park. It was completely quiet after about 11pm when the older children went to bed. The park is beautiful and we had a really spacious pitch. Staff friendly and good little shop. We would definitely go back as lots to do in the area.

We love love love this campsite. I would agree with other reviews and you can hear kids up to 11pm however the noise is of kids having fun NOT of drunken idiots who have spoilt many a camping trip. The facilities are basic but fully functional and clean. The play park is just fab, I've camped at more expensive sites that don't have half a good park. The llamas make a weird noise and sometimes you can hear barking from a kennels but NEVER any traffic. For me this is the best campsite, decent facilities but not commercial.

Just got back from the site, stayed from friday 3rd May to the afternoon of the 6th may.

The site was full and we only managed to get in because of a cancellation on the Tuesday before.

The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and could not do more to help us. We stayed in the little area opposite the reception so were rather spoilt as the showers, shop and toilets were only a short walk away.

Walking around the rest of the site I was impressed with the amount of room each pitch had.

The children's activity park was the best I have ever seen on a campsite. The showers and toilets were cleaned twice a day and were spotless.

I can understand why campers return here every year as we will be doing in the future.

We have stayed at the inside park the last two years and both times have been a delight! Really relaxed and the owners were so helpful. The toilet/shower facilities are functional and clean.

It has a brilliant kids play area and has various different food options throughout the week, pitches can be a little uneven in places but not too bad.

The local Dorset area is lovely and is well placed to visit pages such as Weymouth, Corfe castle and the wonderful square and compass pub in Worth Matravers!

Book early! It does fill up.

We stayed on the week leading up to the bank holiday, it was a last minute decision to go away and I enquired about availability to be told it was full, I was gutted as the reviews (and photos of the site) had made my decision that this was a ideal site. Next day I received a email informing me of a cancellation, which I took straight away.

On arrival, the drive down the lane tells you that you really are 'in the outdoors'. We had a warm welcome and were shown to our pitch, explained we could pitch anywhere around the numbered peg, it was around a tree with 3 others and next to access to the top field, and opposite the playground.

The facilities are more than suitable, part modern/part well used. But always clean, yes there is the issue of others not cleaning the toilets/showers after themselves, but I always found they were clean and never busy. Plenty of dish washing points and a laundry facility to use if needed.

The walks are great, site clean, playground is amazing for the children (my girls 3 & 6 loved it), the whole site is secure so my stepson (13) had fun making new friends and exploring it by himself. The playground is closed at 9pm and although the older children do play out a bit longer, by 9. 30/10pm it was quite and very relaxing.

Blandford Forum has the regular shops, whilst still being a lovely quaint village and not far to go to, though the site shop is fine.

And to top it off, we all made friends and booked up for the same week next year before we packed up to leave for home.

Being our first year of caravanning we weren't quite sure what to expect. Having stayed of the Isle of Wight we decided to stop off on the mainland.

We plumped for this site not knowing what to expect. On arrival we couldn't find the office to book in, eventually someone came booked us in and told us where our pitch was, this we had to find by ourselves. Though it was a quiet are is was rather unkempt and not very inviting. After getting set up we wondered round looking for different amenities, found the shower block and was rather surprised, it had obviously seen better days and the cleanliness was a lot to be desired.

We didn't see any wardens or anyone to help us with any problems, luckily we didn't have a problem!

Had our children been younger they would have been thrilled with the play area, it had everything you could think of, it was used consistently from dawn to dusk, though the older children were rather manic at times and didn't abide by the rules (not the sites fault it must be said).

The wildlife was in abundance just in our area let alone in the woodland walk, what a pleasure.

The little shop was well stocked with most items required, though shops were only a stones throw away.

We have heard the site has improved since we were there, so no doubt we will return at some time in the future. Although at the time there were a couple of downers, all in all we found it a relaxing time in tranquil surroundings.

Stayed here for a week with our two young children aged 5 and 7.

Have to agree with all the positive comments about this site, as it is a great site with good facilities and the staff are very helpful and pleasant.

The toilet block did get rather messy towards the end of the day with muddy showers (even though there is a mop provided to clean up after you) and toilet paper all over the floor of the cubicles.

For us the downside was, that we were allocated our pitch and we were on the main junction of the site where everybody passes you to go the the toilet, wash up or leave the site, so we were witness to a lot of foot traffic right up until after 11pm.

Although the play area closes at 9pm, the kids then congregated either in the woods (right near our pitch) or outside the toilets. They then (and were talking 15-20 kids) played manhunt every night, running and screaming (and swearing) around the site and passed our tent, tripping over guyropes or playing in the tree next to our tent. This for our young kids was too much and kept them awake far longer than we would have liked.

So if you have young kids and sleeping at reasonable hours is an issue, just bare this in mind.

However, I still think this is a great site that will suit many families.

We stayed for 5 nights, my Sister and 2 of her children stayed for 2.

On arrival, I had the most friendliest greeting. He couldn't be any more helpful, than he was.

I was shown to my pitch, told that I could pitch my tent anyway I wanted, explained to me where all the facilities are.

The site is very family orientated, with fantastic facilities for children; indoor games room with table tennis and pool. Sockets where Items could be charged. The site was quiet by 11. 30pm

There is a shop which sells the basic essentials; camping equipment, food, sweets, drinks. That included the adult stuff, ie wine and beers. Lots of fabulous walks for the dogs and woods for the children to play in and to make dens.

Two families helped me pitch my tents, in between rain and cups of teas, that was fabulous.

Plenty of sinks for dish washing, laundrette, which was well used. Plenty of toilets, showers and sinks, no need to queue, even with the site being full.

Down side, the only one. Not everyone cleaned the showers after themselves, which would make such a big difference keeping the facility clean, considering how wet it was. I thought they were cleaned once a day in the morning. But were cleaned in the afternoon as well. Lot of toilet paper were left on the floor. If they were dropped at least people could have picked them up.

On site they do, do food, fish and chips ect. Fish was nice, the chips not chippy standard by any means.

Blandford Forum is a short drive, pretty little town, with pubs and restaurants, takeaways. There is a Morrisons and Tescos.

Lots to see and do. We went to Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove, Bovington Tank Museum.

Would I go back, yes, would I recommend it, yes.

Loved this site, beautiful grounds, clean facilities, great play area for the kids.

Will definitely be going again, situated not too far from glorious beaches (Swanage is my fave) - nice walks around the site,

Well stocked shop and games room with pool, table football and table tennis.

Plenty of showers/washing up sinks and washing/drying facilities which we used to wash our summer clothes due to the glorious weather we had!
