Just returned today (13th June) after 11 days stay. The sign was right, it was so relaxing that you won't want to leave! We extended our stay by 3 days but that might have been something to do with the weather. We arrived on the end of the school holiday and the site was very busy and noisy but by Sunday night it was very quiet and almost empty. The site was previously the grounds of a large manor house that burnt down over 40 years ago. The only buildings remaining are the coach house and stables. These have been renovated and converted in to the shop / reception, shower blocks, washroom and games room. They also have four day kennels so you can go out to places that don't allow dogs. Most important the showers, there are only 6 (in the men's but I believe the woman's is the same) although I never had a problem getting one. There are also 4 wash basin cubicles. Apart from one day when the boiler went out there was always hot water. (not fixed until after 9am as they don't open till then) The washroom was very well equipped there are about 8 sinks for washing up (didn't count them even though I seemed to be in there more than the wife). There is a large deep sink for hand washing and 3 of 4 more normal sinks next to that. There are two washing machines,a tumble dryer, a spin-dryer (ask an OAP what one is) and an Iron. The washers cost £2 and the dryer is 20p for about 4 Min's. Not sure how long the iron lasts for but its 50p. The shop is fairly well stocked with all the basics and is fairly reasonably priced. As well as Milk bread etc they sell beer and wine and also some camping accessories (including gas) in case you forget something. The games room is very large and contains (I think) 3 pool/snooker tables, football, table tennis and two cold drink machines. The drawback here was that the cues, balls etc were available from the shop but it shuts at 6pm, this seemed a little silly keeping this room open if you couldn't get the equipment. In the top corner of the main field there is a large play area, it is well equipped and looks great. There is also a couple of footy goals for a small game. There are 125 pitches and from what I could tell all had electric hook up available. They also hired out electric kits for tents. The roadways are well lit so you can see your way round at night with no problem. They also do caravan storage and will move the van to and from storage to a pitch for you. There is no obligation to use the site if you store your van there. There is a Chip van that attends on Saturday night and also on Wednesdays during peak season. We tried it the night we arrived which was the last Saturday of the half term. We queued for 30 minutes before they took our order then another 30 minutes before we got our chips. We were very disappointed and they were not worth the wait! Better to get in your car and drive into Blandford. There is a Turkish take away that will deliver to the site! The day kennels are adequate but you will need to wash any bedding afterwards as they do get a bit smelly. Bit of a wash out with disinfectant after they are used wouldn't have hurt. The site is surrounded by woods and fields and away from any main roads. Our pitch was in the small field by reception (pitches 1 - 6) These are close to the toilets etc but do suffer from the noise of the cars going in and out of the site. Its not a good part if you have children as some less considerate people in their Essex Tractors seem to think they should go as fast as possible. I'm amazed that a child was not hit. There's loads more I could tell you but the review is getting a bit long. I would recommend this site but as others have noted it could do with a few improvements. It could do with more toilets. It can be a long way to get from the top of the field. Shop opening times should be extended, they open at 9am (its a long time to wait to get a gas canister to finish boiling your kettle) and they shut far to early 6pm. Some one on site over night would be useful. You can't get Cues, balls etc for the games room after the shop shuts but they don't close the games room until 10:30pm The rates are a little high charging per pitch and per person.

A fantastic site for a relaxing holiday, with fantastic weather to match. Situated in a woodland setting with peaceful surroundings. We had pitch 41 with hook up close to the water tap and close enough to see the play area. Great for children with an excellent safe play park. Plenty of washing up sinks plenty of hot hot water and free hot showers/sinks in cubicles.
We stayed half term week the site was busy but with the generous pitch sizes not at all overcrowded, the staff were friendly, the on site shop well stocked. Tesco store in Blanford approx 10 mins away. We will be returning again and is most definitely a site worth trying out.

We have just returned 2nd June from a wonderful four nights here. We had pitch 111, slightly sloping, ground fine for plastic pegs. The wash block was a good walk away which meant we were always asking the children if they needed to go. I would have taken our portable if I'd known. Fantastic play park with lots of modern equipment and safe woodchip on the ground. Some pitches were very shaded and lots in the open. All the pitches were massive, we saw lots of people with masssiivvveee tents and gazebos and still plenty of room. You get a picnic bench with each pitch which is a real bonus. We'll be revisiting soon.

We took the recommendations from this site and were not disappointed. Fortunately for us, we missed the Easter rush so the campsite was relatively quite. Once we had put the tent up (a bit of a challenge as the ground at pitch 23 was very hard) everything was as we could have hoped. The kids(aged 4 & 9) loved it, especially the play area. The site felt safe, was spacious and very well maintained - especially the immaculate toilet and shower facilities (with plenty of free hot water) which even has separate cubicles with sinks, mirrors & lights for extra privacy. The washing up and laundry facilities were great (need 20 pence pieces) and although the shop is well stocked, Tesco is less than 5 minutes drive away

The Sign at the top of the drive says "so relaxing you wont want to leave" Never a truer word spoken! To be able to relax outside your caravan, with the distant sound of children playing on the excellent playground facilities, The park is surrounded by interesting walks (enough to keep two under 10`s & a childish Border collie amused) Showers & facilities kept very clean, and the site shop selling just the sort of things you may need in an emergency.
A short drive to the pretty town of Blandford Forum with an abundance of take aways, plus a large Tesco`s.... Child friendly pubs within a short drive...excellent food at the Crown winterborne stickland. Guess where we`re going for the next Bank Holiday

I have just returned from my second visit to The Inside Park (previous stay was April/May 05). Both occasions were bank holiday weekends with a group of friends and the site was full but, because of generous pitches and free space, we found areas around our pitches to play rounders and french cricket. It is the kind of site that could suit any requirement as there are lovely secluded areas, sheltered by trees, away from the chilren's playground and, for those with children the large wooden playground is great. It easily kept amused the 7 children I was with for the 4 days that we were there. The children also enjoyed playing in the woods within the site, and we all enjoyed the peaceful walks though the wooded land bordering the camp. There is an ample supply of wooden picnic benches available for campers to help themselves to. The wild garlic and bluebells are just coming into flower and the owl hoots at night - lovely

June 2005 What a wonderful site! the sign said "so relaxing you wont want to leave " and that is very true. Very large pitches although some were sloping , we managed to get a pitch at the top in between the trees 1 min walk from the imaculate shower block , the wood walks are fantastic , however maybe it wasn't our best idea to leave the map ( provided) behind and make up our own walk . 2 hours passed and we found opurselves overlooking miles and miles of fields with no idea where the campsite was , never mind we`re on holiday , another 2 hours later and me the wife our 2 dogs and some nasty little seed ticks had returned 1 mile to a very large tescos less than a mile to the nearest pub and about 20 miles from monkey world ,we will be going back

August 2005 This was our first visit to this site, we went on strength of other reviews. Well what a great place, very relaxing, our 9yr old loved the play area and wooded areas to make dens in. I never had to queue for a shower and the site was full! they have a mop and bucket by each set of showers, great idea to mop grass and mud etc. as can't help mess with camping in fields? Nice walks around woods, local shops/tesco 5 mins away. As others have stated some pitches on slight slopes, we luckly had a flat pitch. We had squirrels collecting nuts from trees, a fox crossed my husbands and sons path one night. Can't think of one bad thing to say about The Inside Park, oh yes just thought of one, we had to come home. What more can you say?

August 2005 We went to the Inside Park purely on the recommendations from this website. The site itself is very nice, and it is well looked after. The pitches are on the generous side although some of them are quite "sloped" so be prepared for this and take levelling blocks if you are taking a caravan. There is only one main shower block for the whole site which can be some walking distance depending what pitch you are on. The kiddies playground is very good but I would not want to be on a pitch nearby with a baby as the noise from screaming kids continued well after 10.30pm. The shower block had Push button showers (yuk) and some cubicles had plastic stools to put your clothes on, although these were very quickly snapped up each morning. The blocks did get quite messy although in fairness demand was high and the staff did their best. the mother and baby room consisted of a shower, toilet and a baby bath - we gave up after a day as the shower regulator was u/s and there were no mats on an otherwise slippery floor. The shop had a good selection of camping gear but could have expanded the food range a little more. It did rather well on selling pocket money toys and sweets by the looks of things. Nearby Blanford is a pleasant town and has the Badger brewery on its doorstep. The attractions we did go to were the Signals Museum (very good) Monkey World (expensive and not impressed) and the Tank museum at Bovington which all the family enjoyed. We also enjoyed the tractor tour at the campsite which was great fun. Overall the Inside park was a great site apart from the very noisy playground at night and the overloaded showerblocks. I suspect that out of school holiday time this would be an absolute cracker.

July 2005 We chose this park for our first family camping holiday because the reviews on UK Camp site were so good and happily they were right!
When I rang to book our visit the chap I spoke to was very helpful and spent almost 20 minutes helping me sort out which of the odd days and long weekends we had free fitted with their availablity. He seemed bemused that I thought our tent was so big that perhaps we ought to book two pitches and when we arrived at the site we realised why - the pitches were enormous! We could fit in our large tent, the car, two picnic tables and a pile of bikes and still have room to spare.
The site itself is lovely and is reached by a little road through woods. It feels miles from anywhere but is only 10 minutes from Blandford town. It is set in a valley so some of the pitches are on a very steep slope.
There is a big play area at one end of the site. Our 9, 7 and 5 year olds loved it but the little one (aged 3) was a bit too small for anything except the swing and slide. Despite being situated at the opposite end of the site to our tent, we could see it clearly (it was on the hillside) so the kids were able to go there by themselves - which they loved.
We also felt it was safe to let the older three walk (or ride) to the toilets on their own as even though they had to cross the access road there was not much traffic and everyone was very good about driving slowly.
The facilities were a bit of a hike for us as we were at the far end of the site. They were never crowded and there seemed to be plenty of loos and showers for everyone (even with the site fully booked). The floors did get very muddy and messy while we were there but that was due to the weather rather than lack of cleaning. There seemed to be someone mopping up every time I visited.
The reviews we had read warned of a problem with dogs picking up ticks in the woods. Unfortunately we had children picking up ticks! The owners are obviously aware of the problem as along with a site map we were given a leaflet on the best way to remove them - it worked.
My only small critisism of the site is that the shop did not stock much in the way of foodstuff. They had lots of useful camping equipment and souvenirs but little to eat apart from sweets. I guess that as there is a Tesco in Blandford they do not have much call for anything else. We had a lovely peaceful, relaxing break and will definitely return. Our first trip has set a high standard for anywhere else match!
