We spent the bank holiday week at Riverside. Unfortunately for us we picked the monsoon season but that is far from the fault of the site. The site was spot on for us and the river taxis were a treat. My son and his fluffy Jedi rabbit loved the boats.

The facilities were ok I just wish we could visit a site which lets you have a shower more than 30 seconds long (if that on this one).

Loved the new bar/restaurant the food was ace and really good value with our discount which you get if your staying on site. The problem with this though was the truly awful selection of beer. Not one hand pulled real ale to be seen just smelly keg beers and lager. Had to resort to cider.

Overall we loved it and would definitely come back just get some decent ale on.

We were very disappointed with the site. The site describes the tourer pitches as 'all on well drained land'. This is not the case! After one night of (admittedly heavy) rain the site turned into a bog. We had at least two inches of standing water on the pitch and it wasn't draining anywhere - everything was covered in mud. On our leaving day a tractor was being used to pull motorhomes out of the mud. The shower block had seen better days and the water pressure at the service point was hopeless. It is a pity the owners have spent money on a very plush clubhouse/restaurant & bar rather than on improving the basic facilities & drainage.

Hi just returned from six days at this lovely site. We arrived at the site on Saturday 12th April, and found the booking in process very easy and quick. We then drove further down the drive and waited to be escorted to a pitch, these are allocated on the day, but we were shown to the pitches on the right hand side, as opposed to going left. These pitches did seem to be a little less on top of each other with a bit more space between the vans. The pitch was flat and the grass lush and green, great for children to run about on!

The electric supply seemed pretty good considering our designated connection pole fed about 8 individual supplies, all of which were being used. We did manage to trip it once (hair straighteners and electric kettle!) but the reset trip was easily accessed and safe to do it yourself.

The water supply was only a very short walk away and the pressure was amazing, I had to hold the hose onto the tap whilst filling up my tank, otherwise you do get a good soaking (trust me!)

The toilet block was again a very convenient distance from us, and was always very clean and warm. The showers were fine, very large and spacious, most had shower curtains to keep your clothes dry, but a couple didn’t, so I got wise and picked the ones with the curtains. The water was always hot/warm but mainly hot, and each cubicle had a good sized shower shelf for your shampoo etc, and there was a small plastic stool in the corner for putting extra bits on, a large mirror and sink (with no plug) would have made shaving easy (note to myself to get a variety of sink plugs) and two hooks for towel etc.

All the staff on the site seemed helpful enough, and always busy tidying up etc.

We did go to the club and had a look around, very impressive building, not so impressive prices, so we opted to use other local establishments instead, but I am sure if budget isn’t an issue then the club would be great, lovely views over the river and country side beyond.

The Indian restaurant Aladdin’s just up the road (turn left out of the campsite and walk for five minutes if that) and it’s on the left hand side just after the Chinese restaurant was lovely, it’s a well-established restaurant that seemed popular with locals as well as holiday people, the menu was quite different to the normal run of the mill Indian menu, with some quite unusual curries available. The service was fantastic, as was the food, and the prices, we thought were extremely good considering the quality and quantity of service and food, we liked it so much we went back two days later to try some of the other curries we had never heard of, and yet again great.

We used the little river taxi into Stratford, which was lovely, and very easy, although we did walk back, it takes about twenty five minutes from the centre of town to the campsite, but it’s a good flat walk, and you can ogle at all the lovely houses on route!

If you are national trust members, then there is an absolute glut of properties to visit, I think we counted at least ten within 20 miles of the campsite.

We also visited Hatton Country World which with the sat nav was easy to find, but I would have struggled a bit without it. Some nice shops, we had a very good cream tea, and the extremely large children’s play area was definitely the main attraction, although we didn’t use it.

From there we drove to Hatton Locks on the Grand Union Canal, 21 locks over two miles with a lovely little café about half way up. It’s a beautiful place, there is a car park at £1. 20 all day, and we spent a very easy couple of hours walking the towpath and watching the boat traffic going up and down the locks. Up near the little café there are lots of picnic tables and benches for anyone to use, and we stopped at the café for a cup of tea, very nice.

Stratford is ok, good shops, but no different to any other town, and frantically busy with tourists as you would expect, quite expensive to park, so we river taxied one way and walked back.

So all in all we had a great time, a very good campsite, in a very interesting part of England. We will definitely be coming back if only for the curries!

We booked this site for a 2 night mid-week break and found it quite reasonable at £18.00 Per Night considering the location. Arrived at 12. 00 Midday as requested and were greeted by a friendly reception and a very organised (The most regimented we have been part of) guide to our pitch which was 'Drive Through' due to the site being reasonably empty, the pitch was quite a size and in good condition considering how late in the season it was. EHU was close by as was the toilet/shower facilities which were very clean and well attended to.

The site itself is delightful, very well looked after and all the staff were very polite and friendly, the location is perfect for visits to Stratford and we took full advantage.

The only criticisms we have is the staff not giving full information about facilities: They tell you as they are building a new club house (Which looks mighty impressive)you have use of the neighbouring sites club, which is good, but they don't tell you when its open, which is a disappointment when you walk up to it on Thursday Night at 8.30pm and its closed! Also they tell you a 'Chip Van' visits every night at around 7. 00pm and then it does not! (Hence the unsuccessful visit to the neighbouring club). The Cafe also states it serves evening meals and is then subsequently closed, I do appreciate it was late in the season but if facilities are not available the site should tell you rather than us saving ourselves for an evening meal at the site which clearly we were not able to get. Good job the Spar in Tiddington was open for us to buy some grub for our evening meal.

The last point for us is if you have children. Forget it, there is simply nothing to entertain the young ones, we think this site should advertise itself as 'Adults Only'

Another good stay here at riverside caravan park. We have been twice before. Warden takes you to a pitch. Very good location with the river taxi boat to take you into stratford upon avon. £1. 50 each, each way. Lots of wild life on the river. Facilities good. Disappointed we were not allowed to put our windbreak up. The 99p breakfast is a must. Will return again. Hopefully next time the new club house will be finished.

We had mixed feelings about this site. Staff friendly and very thorough when introducing us to site. There was no 'pitch' as such, just a lawned area, which the warden drove us to and ensured that we were correctly sited. Electric hook-up was available to each 'van and a water stand-pipe was in easy reach.

The site generally seemed a bit run down. The (old) clubhouse was noisy well past midnight. At 10. 30pm someone had been sick in the men's shower block and by 8am it had still not been cleaned so we stopped using that facility.

The showers had automatic shut-off, unfortunately one had to be continually pumped to work. The lights were automatic and, halfway through my partner's shower, they went off and he had to finish in darkness! There was one washing machine for the whole site and that didn't work and the engineer had been arranged for the Monday (two days later). We had the impression that the site owner was taking as much as he could out without putting much in, which is a shame as the location couldn't be better.

On Saturdays, there's the nearby Wellesbourne Market which is huge and well worth a visit.

Stratford is a pretty, medieval style town with an excellent mix of shops. You can buy a day ticket for a tour bus that takes you round all the Shakespearean places such as Anne Hathaway's Cottage. We had an excellent meal in the Deli Café (where they served delicious bread from a local baker).

We loved the location, hated the site.

Large site with lots of lodges, statics etc. Excellent riverside location, river taxi to Stratford a lovely way to travel at £1. 50 each way.

Impressive clubhouse being built.

Not the sort of site we would normally visit, as we prefer smaller more intimate sites, however I cannot find much to fault about this place. Great value on the four night for three tariff Mon-Friday £56 for 4 nights, hook up, , dog C&CC discount incl, excellent facilities block, always clean, good showers, motorhome service point.

Charge £2 per night for the dog, but provide bins and free poop bags from dispensing machines so fair do's.

Tiddington village a five minute walk away has a nice pub, The Crown, good food and real ales, a Chinese restaurant which we didn't enjoy and advise against, an Indian restaurant which we thought was 1st class and would happily recommend. The Spar stocks all you will need. An added bonus on Weds and Sats is an artisan baker in School Lane selling bread to die for, I think they are called Knead It.

All in all a great site, Stratford on the doorstep, not sure I would enjoy when full in high season, but for those liking a larger site in a great location, this place will take some beating.

Stayed here for two nights to visit Stratford. Arrival was very organised, we were directed to our pitch by the warden in a golf buggy! the site was well laid out and well kept. The toilet and washing facilities were immaculate. The river taxi to Stratford was a lovely way to travel, and the driver friendly and informative about the surroundings and the fishing. On the second day we took the bus from outside the campsite 'just for a change'. We didn't try the 99p breakfast as not our thing but it seemed that lots of people did, eating in and taking away.

The touring site is surrounded by static vans so seemed a bit 'commercial' but an excellent stop for visiting the surrounding area.

Lovely peaceful site, well maintained with friendly staff. Showers/toilets very clean and well kept. Riverside café was clean and well frequented by everyone, the only downfall was the shop facilities were limited but bread and milk was available along with a small amount of other goods. For a site of it's size it would be nice to have a proper camp shop. We paid for 7 days WiFi which is available but nothing to do with the site itself, we found this was not worth the £18 cost for a phone and a tablet I think it was just a poor reception area and I shan't bother again. Overall the week was lovely and we had a good time, weather for us was great and we got out and about every day. Market days listed in reception were very hit and miss, some of them no longer run at all and some that do are not worth visiting with only a dozen or so stalls. Well worth visiting with the river taxi available directly into Stratford town centre, a very pretty way of travelling into town. We will almost certainly be among their future visitors.

I am cynically wary of any “testimonials” extolling the virtues and good performance of any product or service – are they really unsolicited? - or a document prepared by “Marketing” personnel? Without wanting to be patronising in any way - This is an honest and genuine endorsement! Riverside Caravan Park is one of the best sites we have visited. We have been visiting this site for 3 years and we think that the site is in an amazing location, walking distance to Stratford Upon Avon. There is also a water taxi that runs every half hour that takes you into Stratford for £1. 50. ( A great experience)

The toilets are always clean. Large pitches. Very quiet. You can also go fishing on the River. We have found that all the staff are friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The on site cafe does an amazing breakfast for 99p. There is a new clubhouse currently being built that will open next year. ( Looks amazing)

Tiddington Village is only a 5 min walk and has a Pub, Chinese, Indian restaurant, fantastic wine shop and a convenience store for your supplies. Thank you to all the staff. Hi -de Hi.
