We have just returned from this site and were pleasantly surprised.
The site have you position your car behind your van. This allows more space between the units.
The toilet block is dated, but its always clean. The showers are the push button type and work fine, though no temperature adjustment.
The 99p breakfast and £1.99 breakfast are as good as everyone says and not worth the bother to cook yourself. We did not try the later menu.
The on site clubhouse is a little tired but clean and tidy. There is a new one being built.
It has the cheapest pint of Guinness in Stratford. £3. 00 and not a bad pint. I paid up to £3. 80 in the town.
The Crown pub nearby has new management and the food is very good. We ate there the once.
The chinese opposite is also very good. We had a take away.
There is also a Spar nearby all within a 5-10 min stroll of the site.
There was a £2. 50 per day charge for our extra car and for visitors. There is a separate car park area as only one car per van.
For those travelling from Stratford to the site. It is the second caravan site sign. The one opposite the NFU Mutual entrance.

My husband and I stayed at this site last night on our way back from Devon/Dorset. It was a bit pricey at £24 per night but you can stay on the pitch until 4pm the following day. The site is about a mile from Stratford Upon Avon. We caught the river taxi to Stratford from the site (£1. 50 each way for adults) and walked back as the taxi stops around 5ish.
There is a club on the adjacent site which had entertainment on and the prices were very reasonable. Apparently, they're building a new club house which should be open for next season. We sampled the 99p breakfast which was very good value. It's a very big site in a lovely location next to the river and the staff seem very well organised.
There are some shops within walking distance with a Spar, Chinese takeway and restaurant, an off-licence and a nice pub. Stratford Upon Avon itself was a bit of a disappointment. I expected it to be a little quaint town but it was just like any other that I've been to apart from the river area. We couldn't help noticing there were a lot of drunks hanging around the streets which gave it a bit of an unpleasant feeling. Not what I expected at all! But I would definitely stay on this site again for a weekend.

Found this site to be so convenient to get into the centre of Straford its about a 20/30 minute walk. There is a river boat which is great for £1. 50 but the wait can be quite long in busy times as there are only 2 boats that take 7 people at a time.
For the size of the camp and it being a family site and in half term as well it was very quiet. The 99p breakfast is good and saves cooking.
The little town of Tiddington is a 5 minute walk away and has a great Indian, there are other places to eat but we did not try these.
Never once was there any mention of any of the rules that people go on about I thought it was a very friendly site and we were not bothered at all.
On the downside the showers are old, dated and annoying a trickle comes out and you have to keep pressing the button every 5 seconds so I ended up using my own facilities. The clubhouse is also rather poor and noisy but there is a new very large one being built that should be finished in 2013.
I would stay here again and recommend it for the close proximity to Town.

An absolutely fantastic, faultless stay at this great site. Can't recommend the river taxi enough, let the boat take the strain & enjoy a drink in beautiful Stratford.
The showers were spotless and we never had to queue even with the site being busy. The wardens were friendly and very helpful.
The only criticism if any is that a little more room between pitches would have been appreciated as we did feel a bit hemmed in.
We will be returning for another visit when we can.

This was a very clean site and the shower/toilet block was lovely. There was just too many rules to make it relaxing. No windbreakers for no reason and other rules also.
There wasn't enough room between pitches and therefore we had to sit outside the back of our caravan as we would have been too close to the road if we had sat out on the front.
There was a fantastic shop just outside the park that sold everything.
The dog enjoyed the river and we made full use of the free fishing.
I have been to better places for less cost

Superb site, a few rules, we were told to take the windbreak down for no particular reason but this was our only contention, £1. 50 takes you into town on the riverboat which is in the site, right by the best bar around Coxs Yard
Breakfast is superb, double up for £1. 98 to give an averaged sized breakfast for a man, we thought it would be rubber eggs and dried bacon, but being really honest it was gorgeous, but do not think the rest of the food is the same standard, fish and chips at £6. 20 you would expect something decent. But terrible frozen chips that stick in your throat and a dried up small fish is not good. Just stay away from this and the site is superb.
We will be back numerous times, just wont be having Fish and Chips

This is our second visit to Riverside and we still had the friendly and helpful greeting from the staff as we did in 2009! The showers which are more like wet room style were lovely and hot, all be it that you still have to keep pressing the button in; they were always clean and despite it being reasonably busy I never had to wait. Toilets were also very clean and well kept. There has been a change in the grey water disposal since 2009 and that seems to work well with the drain being driven over to make it easy to empty the camper. Even after all the tremendous rain of this 'summer' I only saw one really large motorhome being towed off the grass by tractor! Shops/supermarkets/petrol all within a short distance.
The Shakespeare properties (5) are worth visiting and a joint ticket to all of them was about £21 per adult but if you belong to the caravan club you get a two for the price of one ticket. If not members look online to print off a voucher! There are lots of National Trust properties in the area with lovely gardens and houses.
Great place to stay, handy for lots of places and only a 20 minute walk into Stratford on the flat. No doubt we will be back again one day!

Being new to motorhoming we took advantage of the midweek 4 nights for the price of 3 offer as this was really good value for money. Although the site was quite busy the shower/toilet block was clean with plenty of hot water - although I gave up trying to dry my hair with the 700 watt hairdryer.
We tried the 99p breakfast at the on site cafe and totally agree its not worth cooking it yourself. All the pitches are grass so be aware of this if its very wet we did sink in a little.
Getting in to Stratford was easy using the river taxi which runs from the site every 30 mins and would recommend it for a pleasant 15 minute journey.
Tiddington is a 5 minute walk with a pub - ok, Indian - good, Chinese takeaway - wasn't open even though it said it should be on the opening times, and a little gem Connollys Deli/Tapas Bar which we can highly recommend and for us was the nicest place to have a drink, relax and eat in town.

Just returned from our first ever visit to this site. It seemed well organised and well kept.
We liked the fact that with the Fri & Sat booking, you were able to arrive early Fri (10am) and could stay 'til 4pm on the Sunday. However,
As others have said, there is a lack of privacy in the central touring field( the earlier, 'grassed car park' comment sums it up well) and not being allowed to put up any form of tent and/or windbreak, will restrict some peoples' method of camping. We like to cook outside, under a tarp-canopy / behind a windbreak but this wouldn't have been permitted. However, it seems that full awnings are permitted, if you are located on the next field over.
We probably would consider returning, due to it's close proximity to Stratford' but having said that, due to it's 'car park like' nature, we didn't really enjoy our time on site that much.

Had another great break at Riverside. We love it here, we call it our second home, we visit the site 3 to 4 times a year and have done for the past 15 years. The staff are always friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The site is kept immaculate and is a credit to the wardens. The toilet and shower blocks are spotless clean and always plenty of hot water. There is a cafe with a splendid 99p breakfast. Excellant value. The highlight of the site is the river taxi's that run from the site into Stratford. They run from 10am until 5. 30pm, the drivers are very helpful. The price to stay on site is really reasonable the 4 nights for 3 and the discount for 7 nights are great value. There are some lovely walks and not far to the village where there is a local pub serving meals an Indian and Chinese Restaurant and a cafe that does Tapas. We love it. Here's to the next 15 years.
