This site is made up of three large fields. There are no hard pitches, all are grass. Not sure how it would stand up to rain as not all pitches were level.
The washblock was fairly clean with sufficient facilities. The site itself isn't particularly attractive but the location is fantastic with Stratford just a short walk away.
The Rayford Bar is a portable cabin and you probably won't want to go there more than once despite the cheap drinks.
The site could do with a bit of updating but well worth it due to the proximity to stratford.

This site We found was great, after reading other reviews We were a bit worried, but went with an open mind and how pleased We were We did. The park does have rules but found these ok.
The washrooms very clean, and there's plenty of showers, there's fishing if you are interested in that, a water taxi to take you into Stratford if you don't fancy walking its about a ten minute walk into Stratford but a nice walk.
There's a cafe on site which We only used he once but the breakfast was good, would recommend it. There's a village 5mins away off the site which has a spar shop and some nice eating places, a pub, tapas bar and Indian restaurant.
We went to this site with 2children aged 8and 10and they enjoyed it, there's no park but us on sister site, my children enjoyed riding their bikes. We found the site quiet, not much noise at all, wardens were friendly.
Only negative We found was on leaving caravans coming in before 12 pm you can only get one vehicle down the track at a time so if you hit another caravanner coming in one would have to reverse. We will Definitely return to this site.

Booked for 3 nights here in mid-August. As others have said, site is efficiently run, but regimented and impersonal. Showers/toilets were clean.
When we stayed, the site was only half full and we had a reasonable amount of space between us and the next caravan. (We called in at August Bank Holiday while driving past, the site was full to capacity and the caravans really were packed in like sardines!)
Site is very handy for driving into Stratford. We looked into walking along the river into Stratford but apparently there isn't a path all the way, so you would need to walk alongside a busy road.
Alternatively you can walk along the road from Tiddington village which is less busy but not particularly pleasant.
Unfortunately, we had to leave after 2 nights due to illness. I was surprised that they refused to refund the £25 already paid for the unused third night, particularly as they were nowhere near fully booked. Even the offer of a credit note would have been a nice gesture.

The site was immaculate and everything very organised but a little too organised for a family with 3 children.
There were signs everywhere with the strict rules of the site. They made me feel very on edge and unable to relax. The field where the children were allowed to play football was right by the river which was ok as my 2 older boys are 10 and 8 and knew the dangers but would be dangerous for any younger children
We stayed 3 nights and used the time to explore stratford which was lovely but I was happy to pack up and go home.
Not a very child friendly site and little too regimented for us.
Rows and rows of strictly placed caravans and your neighbours car was parked in front of your awning or caravan door which I thought was odd!

Stayed for one Saturday night in July as a base for the theatre. This is a highly organised, well run and clean site with a range of facilities.
The down side to this is the regimentation of pitches and lack of character.
Reception and arrival are extremely well run and staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Facilities seemed ample and clean. There is a friendly on site café with small shop and newspapers.
We enjoyed an excellent Sunday morning breakfast, including vegetarian option, which was good value. The site is just over a mile from Stratford town centre, so easily walkable. A river taxi operates weather permitting, but unfortunately finishes at 5pm so no help for a theatre run.
There is an adjoining static caravan park with club house/bar facilities; a typical pub singer type venue with long rows of tables and small dance floor, which wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea.
It is a shame the site is totally lacking in character, with row after row of identical pitches which are very close together with no privacy.
There is a long list of rules, which includes no tents or disposable BBQs. We would definitely visit again as a base to stay, but we did not find it relaxing enough for a holiday.
If you are visiting for the RSC and plan to eat in town, we would strongly recommend booking as the restaurants get packed.

Just had nice weekend break at this site, easy to find and good size entrance. Reception brisk and shown to pitch by man in little trunk, no choice, large grass area row after row of units.
Okay for a weekend, but I like a view of something other than a caravan. Both areas are just fields really. Good toilet block apart from push button taps. I realise there to stop wasting water but I don't leave taps running !
Glad to see no play equipment but children on site not a problem.
Bus from road into Stratford. Need to check time as not very often. Spar type shop in Tiddington 5 Min walk away.
Quite pricey, Weekends cost more than weekdays, Should cover costs without charging more for people who work during the week.
That said we would go again, esp if something on in Stratford.

We have been to this site several times and always enjoy our stay - possibly because it is so well organised. Check-in is easy and you are escorted to your pitch. One will be suggested but you can pick your own - as we did this time.
The pitches tend to be in large open areas which can make it look a bit like a car park but there are some pitches tucked away near the river and we pitched under a line of mature trees which gave some welcome shade.
The facilities block is good with plenty of showers and underfloor heating. There are no privacy cubicles but the showers have little washbasins so you could use them instead. The block seems to be checked and cleaned several times during the day.
The on-site cafe does a good breakfast and the river taxi is a lovely way to get in to Stratford if you don't fancy a walk. You can get buses from near the site to Warwick and Leamington (which is worth a visit).
Stratford itself can be so busy that the campsite, being very quiet, makes a welcome refuge. It is also a bargain as they do 4 nights for the price of 3 in the week and a discount for Camping and Caravanning Club members.

I had an open mind when my wife booked this site to break our journey home from the west country despite some of the reviews.
We were pitched by a very nice man who politely told us were everything was, and we then took the water taxi into Stratford captained by a very nice man who took the time to make polite conversation.
Upon our return to the site it soon became apparent that we were were pitched on what was deemed to be part of the dog walk although it didn't start for a good 50 yards further on.
a fellow camper decided it would be a good idea to have a disco in his awning (this was after 9PM)
The toilet block is dated although only 11 years old, dirty and there was no hot water at the sinks at the time of our stay. It didn't matter how long you ran the tap it was tepid at best.
At £25 a night this was the most expensive site of our holiday, we booked and paid for 2 nights but only stayed the one and left the following morning.
Would I stay here again. Not on your life.

We have just spent 4 nights at this site for a birthday break. On arrival it looked a very pleasant park with lovely surroundings on the bank of the river Avon. Reception staff were polite and warden showed us to our pitch. The ground was not flat but it seemed a nice little spot close to the river, however once more caravans arrived it seemed that units were on top of each other with very little space and no privacy. My parents arrived a little later on in the afternoon has they were also staying with us with my daughter, we paid extra costs for an extra vehicle at the time of booking. However after 20 minutes of arriving, the warden came to our caravan and said that the car had got to be moved and parked on the car park. We thought that perhaps he was mistaken and thought that my parents were just visiting so we advised him that they were staying as paying guests and that extra money had been paid for an extra vehicle, the warden said 'Shift it, its a caravan site NOT a car park'. Reception advised that this was site rules and that the second vehicle would have to be parked on the next to the cafe.
The toilet and shower blocks are very clean, however showers are on a timer. There is a river taxi hourly that takes you in to Stratford, it holds 7 people and is £1. 50 pp each way, however there are only 2 running so we didn't get the chance to use it as there was an high demand. There is a good snack bar on site that serves the famous 99p breakfast. The clubhouse is situated on the next site which is a good walk and wasn't really a club, it was more like a hall and the atmosphere was not a welcoming one. before the entrance of the site there is a bowling club on the left which also has weekend entertainment and has a very friendly atmosphere and made you feel very welcome.
Overall I found this site to be very strict, you have to park your caravan in a certain way, the park is situated on the next site and children are not allowed to play ball games out side the caravan.

We have just spent 5 nights at this park. It is situated on the banks of the River Avon. The wardens were very friendly and escorted us to our pitch.
The toilet and shower block was clean. The showers were on a timer but had good water pressure and were nice and hot. You just have to keep pressing the knob when the water stops.
We walked into Stratford ( a 30 minute stroll). Alternatively there is a river taxi hourly that picks up on the site and goes straight into Stratford. It is an hourly service and hold 7 people.
The have a snack bar on site that serves a delicious breakfast for 99p. They also serve lunch and dinner (basic meals) and also do takeaway. They also have basic grocery items.
There is a clubhouse on the next site which is owned by the same people and opens Friday to Sunday. We went there one night but probably wouldn't go again. It was more like a hall with long tables and not much atmosphere.
I believe they have live entertainment on a Saturday night. There is a children's play area outside so I guess if you have children it is an opportunity to have a drink whilst they are playing.
We preferred the Crown Pub in Tiddington (5 minute walk). It serves decent food at reasonable prices. They had a number of meals that were 2 for £9 (I think mid week only).
Tiddington also has a Post Office, a general store, off license and a Chinese and Indian Restaurant. Stratford is a beautful place and I would definitely recommend this site.
