The site was easy to find, friendly reception upon arrival and clear instructions about the site were provided. We found the pitch to be very flat & we had the good chance to be equal distance from the bar and the toilet block.
So, good points - the bar/club is excellent and the food we had was lovely. The staff were excellent and very accommodating. It was an added bonus that our dog was welcome on the balcony of the building.
The water taxi experience was fab, again lovely drivers who communicated with the passengers really well.
Downside - the shower blocks! There simply aren't enough to go around and with no temperature control I did find the water a little cooler than I would have liked.
Overall a friendly family site with loads to offer.

Excellent camp located a mile outside Stratford Upon Avon. Fantastic facilities especially the new club house and loved the water taxis. The pitches have plenty of room with eletric hookup and water next to each pitch.
Showers/toilets very clean and really friendly staff. My partner lost his ring and it was not too much trouble for the staff to provide a rake and assist looking for it.
Will re-visit next year definitely

As I lived in Stratford for many years, this visit was intended to be a return to visit friends, so we were pretty excited to come to the Riverside campsite. I suppose because we had been in Europe for 3 months and are members of both Camping and Caravanning and Caravan Club, we were expecting to have the same level of quality.
The fact that there was no separation for the motorhomes or caravans indicated that the owners had no great empathy for motorhome and caravan owners - simply the site was a big field divided by couple of roads.
Price wise it was reasonable - with one very important exception : WIFI. Why is it that campsites believe that they can exploit people who come to their campsites with outrageous fees for this service? £3. 95 for one hour continual (that is, you can't shut down and come back).
We've visited campsites throughout Europe and the UK and we have found that there is a difference between greed and good business practice. Although it is part of the service and we don't necessarily begrudge a campsite for charging a reasonable fee - there should be a cap.
Finally, we have a dog - as did others on the site. The dog bin near our pitch was full to the brim and in the two days we were there, nobody came to empty it.
The toilets and showers were clean, but I agree with the other reviewers regarding the showers - for a site that expects a lot from its visitors - it should offer good service.

We stayed at the Riverside for 5 nights for an 'Eriba caravan meet'. Eribafolk. There were 32 vans in our party and they were good enough to place us all together. H/Up is available. The toilet and shower blocks were very clean. The ladies had 14 toilets and 4 showers. Waste disposal was well thought out. All in all the whole site is kept very clean and well looked after. On arrival at the site, we booked in and the warden then escorted us by golf buggy to our pitch and explained how we could park. We asked various questions as we are quite new to this and he was very helpful. The ground was on the soft side so hammering awning pegs in was very easy. Cycling into Stratford took about 10 minutes. The town is well laid out and you can cover most of it within a day. There is a boat from the pier at the campsite that can take you into Stratford if you do not wish to walk or cycle. The village next to the campsite is Tiddington. We had a takeaway from the Indian restaurant which was very good. Some of the party also tried the Chinese restaurant and heard this too was excellent. The pub opposite does Sunday lunch and has FREE WIFI! Food and WIFI good.
Our only negative point with this site is the payment for WIFI and the showers working on a 10 second trip out! It is so annoying having to hit the button all the time.
We would stay again if in the area.

We visited this site during whitsun bank holiday week (tues to fri) and found the site to be quite busy, we were taken to our pitch by Gary who sited us in a nice spot and not a bad sized pitch, after setting up I decided to put a small windbreak across the front of the awning and before I had finished putting it up Gary was back informing me that windbreaks not allowed or ball games, We then found that the site we had chosen being under big tree's we couldn't get a tv signal.
Toilets and showers seemed ok, there is a new restaurant/pub on site, can't comment as they said dogs are allowed but you have to sit outside on the verander and it was a very cold wind so went to the Crown pub just down the road 5 mins walk, as other reviewers say the Crown does allow dogs in the bar area and you can eat in there so we were sorted.
We went into Stratford on one of the river boats £2 per person and dog travelled free, seen what we wanted to see in an afternoon and walked back to the site (1 1/4 miles. Wouldn't go back.

Booked the site for few days this week as had never been to that area before.
First off the Cons which there are not many:
As has been said before the pitches are a little cosy and close to your neighbour which is a bit of a shame as the site is very big and they could afford to give a little bit more space per pitch.
One of the days we were there they had no hot water at all which was not ideal.
The Pros:
Friendly staff very welcoming and helpful
Great location for Stratford nice walk into town or can use the river boat. We walked and took 25 mins at a leisurely pace.
Local shop, pub take away 5 minutes away
Toilets, showers etc always clean tidy
Great bar and restaurant on site - great food

We have just arrived home from 4 nights over the Easter holidays. I booked after searching for a campsite that was near to the cotwolds and also not too far a drive from the in laws in Shropshire. What a lovely site this is, granted there are improvements that could be made but that is true of most sites. The site is situated next to the river avon in tiddington a small village outside of Stratford upon Avon. We were welcomed to the site and shown to a pitch by a very helpful gentleman. I asked if I could be moved nearer the water point which was no trouble at all. Great start as some sites might have been a bit funny. The pitch itself was ok, not the prettiest of pitches and a bit rowed up for my liking In the middle field but you can't have everything. A bit boggy but this land is near the river so I expect that. There is a river taxi operating from the jetty to take you along to Stratford which we did and was very nice not to have to use the car. It cost 6 pounds each way for 2 adults and 2 children. It was a nice tranquil river ride and saved parking fees too. We visited the Indian restaurant in tiddington which was really nice and compared to london proves a steal at £87 for a 3 course meal for 4 including drinks and a bottle of wine. It also gets 5 stars from the local authority for hygiene. The food was amazing. Back to the site. There is a modern and new pub on site ran by a third party company which was very expensive. My only gripes are the lack of fully serviced or hard standing pitches. The lack of waste water emptying points. The shower block although older is spotlessly clean and had hot water in the gents however my wife found the water quite chilly in the ladies. There could do with being a bit more for the kids to do. All in all I would go back as it's a lovely part of the world.

Good:
Location lovely, pitches level, well run, nice boat trip to town, easy walking distance to town, pubs nearby and Indian and Chinese takeaways too.
Bad:
Very cold showers on numerous occasions so it wasn't a one off.
Not allowed wind breaks.
VERY expensive wifi.
No TV signal whatsoever.
Overall lovely site, just let down by those few things, so sadly we won't return unless they address the above.

We have just returned from a short stay at Riverside Caravan Park rather disillusioned. The toilet facilities are basic and out dated. The showers are positively archaic with the push button that lasts for 10 seconds and gives lukewarm water. The camping field isn't set out with any boundaries. We have stayed at many caravan club sites as well as commercial ones and these must be the worst facilities. There is no facility for bathing toddlers or babies either apart from a baby bath in a toilet no water! Apart from that the play area isn't suitable for very young children. The bins for the new restaurant complex are by the side of the play area and in full view of the diners. It only has a disabled access lift despite it being on the first floor.
The only saving grace is the location and the friendliness of some of the staff. Very disappointing for such a prestigious site.

Just returned from a 4 day break at this campsite.
Great location next to the River Avon and the water taxi was really convenient running every 30 mins taking 7 passengers at a time.
Pitches flat and well maintained if a bit on the cosy side to your neighbours.
I would recommend the new Restaurant which was very smart, with good quality food at a good price, bonus 10% off for customers staying on site. Flags lining the drive could do with replacing though.
Sadly this site is let down by the disappointing shower facilities which are in direct contrast to the Restaurant because they are old and dated with a push button set up offering a maximum of 15 seconds per push if you are lucky, as one went off instantly the minute you took your hand away from the button. Makes cleaning children a particular nightmare and I don't think we will be returning.
