We really enjoyed our stay at this site. We had a warm welcome on arrival. Our pitch was superb with lovely views over open farmland. The planting of grasses, plants and trees around the site offered privacy and an abundance of wild birds. We really appreciated what the owners are trying to do with this. The showers / toilets and washing up area were immaculately clean and inviting.
We chose adults only as we wanted peace and quiet. This site was perfect, so relaxing and quiet, even on a busy bank holiday weekend. The site wardens were happy to let our family visit us at the site one evening. The feel of the site was very casual and easy going. It felt like a home from home.
Bourton-on-the-water is easy to get to by car or on foot. We cycled from the site most days around the beautiful countryside. The terrain is undulating but fun to ride. We had a great day at Snowshill Manor, about 25 minutes drive away in the car. Visit the tiny village of Guiting Power and try the amazing homemade cakes in the local Post Office. It was the best afternoon tea we have had for a long time.
Overall, this is a fantastic site in a stunning area. The peace and quiet was well worth paying a little extra for. We will definitely return.

We arrived early on Friday. No problem getting on our pitch. We checked the board and noticed that we preferred a different pitch to the one allocated. That was no problem with the warden who changed this immediately. Both wardens were very friendly and checked that everything was ok throughout our visit. The toilets and washing up facilities were very clean but as it was a Bank Holiday weekend there were queues for the toilets etc and could have done with more basins or additional block at the opposite end of the site. The pitch was of a very good size and gave us plenty of room for our folding camper, car and room to sit outside. Electric and water was very close by. Looking forward to going back again.

Stayed here in May 2013. We stayed for 1 night whilst passing back up the country to North Wales from Cornwall. We only viewed online and booked over phone the night before. We didn't ask the price (stupidly) but rolled up on the Saturday of a bank holiday weekend. They were just able to fit us in as they were very busy.
You have to drive down a long drive to get to the site. Sat Nav pretty much gets you there though. There are road signs as you get closer. On arrival, it looked like a farmer's field campsite, so when we were told £27 for the night, we were very shocked. Had we known the price, we prob would have gone elsewhere. However, once we got over the price shock and settled the motorhome in, we walked around and appreciated the site. All built up on 1 large plot of land, it has actually be really nicely designed. There are large reeds the in the middle of the field where rabbits nest and come out and night.
The shower & toilet block are heated and nicely done (although with only 2 male showers (& I presume 2 female?), I can imagine large queues in peak time (we showered at night when not as busy!) The pitches here are massive!
Our (large) motorohome took up 1 third of the pitch. It was nicely divided by bushes. We were at the top of the field and had a nice sunset over the site. The male warden could have done with a course in customer service. Wasn't very approachable and 'couldn't have a laugh' like you can other wardens. His wife seemed a lot nicer and was offering us advice on the near by area. There is a separate field for dog walking and poo bins dotted around. Although it was a nicely laid site, I still think £27 a night is far too high. We had EHU and 2 dogs, so not sure how it was broken down (wish I had asked).
I think £20/night is ideal for this location and site. We would stay here again as we did enjoy what the site offered (if you stay here, you must visit the very local town of Bourton on the Water - the most picturesque English town we have ever visited!) We drove our motorhome into the town and parked in the Co-op car park. It's a free car park and only a 5min walk into the town. There is another large carpark closer to the town but you have to pay. Arrive there early though as everyone parks in the co-op and the town itself gets Very very busy by 11am. Especially if a sunny day!

Fantastic camp site, very friendly family run team. The couple who were looking after the park for the season were also very attentive and helpful, even giving us directions for shortcuts and scenic routes for our walks. Facilities excellent - clean and well-kept shower block, even an indoor kitchen to wash up - makes a nice change from standing outside in the rain at most camp sites! 20 min walk into Bourton on the Water which is a lovely picturesque town worth visiting.
Thanks for a great trip Field Barn Park, we will be back!

Just come back from a very chilly weekend with mixed weather. Despite the forecast we wanted to try out our new tent.
Pros
Very helpful wardens - despite some comments they a are very nice couple. Don't expect big smiles at first, but you can expect a lot of help if you need it.
Clean facilities and plenty of hot water
Very well drained and good pitch size
Great walks with a good path in to Bourton (so you can have a beer and get home safely) takes about 20mins
Cons
Pitch could have been rolled - bit lumpy
New planting not fully established - we were a bit early in the season too. Give it another year to fully take.
It is a bit expensive
Watch out
There is distant traffic noise - not really disturbing but it is there.
Long distance between electric points (not that we used them).
Recycling facilities are good - but be prepared to take some of your own refuse home.
Info
Not much shopping in Bourton, but very pretty. I preferred Stow. 5 min drive, tescos and the most amazing butcher (just don't worry about the cost). Many of the pubs in the area did not seem dog friendly.
We would go back.

We are both female in our 40's on only our second camping experience. We headed to Bourton on the Water from Surrey and found the journey to be very easy until we arrived at the Sat Nav location. It took us to the Farm rather than the Campsite. Not a problem though as it was literally the next gate along.
The dirt road alongside a field took us to the site where a Notice Board gave us our Pitch position. All the pitches were marked out well and extremely large. We had a 4 man tent and managed to also get two cars on our pitch. (No. 46)
There is an electricity supply for all pitches. We didn't need it so, as we hade paid full price on the internet, the couple looking after the site offered to refund the difference.
The site offers excellent pitches, ours was level and appeared to have good drainage. There is plenty of space around each pitch too. There is a water supply to at least every thid pitch, so very easy access for all.
The site is split into 4 section by use of 8-10 foot high Elephant Grass. This provides a good barrier from both other campers and the weather. There are small walkways between to enable you to cut through to the toilet block. This is easy in the daylight but not so easy in the dead of night. A headtorch resolves this issue though.
The camp has a more than adequate shower block with fantastic water pressure and plenty of hot water. There is also a kitchenette with two sinks, fridge freezer and washing machine. The owners also offer fresh eggs with an honesty box system.
We found the location perfect with easy drives to many Cotswold villages. In the five days we were there we visited, Burford, Bibury, Gretton, Cirencester, Aldsworth, Winchcombe, Sudely Castle, Belas Knap, Stow on the Wold and Moreton in Marsh and even got to Stratford Upon Avon to see Twelfth Night at the RSC Theatre. Oh and of course Bourton on the Water itself which is a mile or so from the site.
We couldn't have picked a better location for getting out and about.

We paid £40 for two adults for two nights. It was the most expensive of all the sites we stayed at during this tour.
This is the first of our stops on our two week trek and on entering the site via a long track were impressed to spot a notice board with a site map and a note as to which pitch we had been allocated.
Possibly not the best pitch for a tent as it sloped quite badly - but still as the site wasn't too busy we perhaps could have asked for a different spot.
The field was divided into clearly numbered pitches with hedges marking the pitch boundaries. We loved the little paths and walk ways between the tall grasses and it made a more interesting route to the shower/toilet blocks. Although at night the is trek was a bit scary and perhaps a couple of solar lamps along the pathways would have changed the whole feel of the site to something quite magical.
The facilities were excellent. Heated shower rooms (what luxury) and even a (free) hairdryer available. Just around the corner was the washing up room - two generous sinks, a huge frige freezer, washing machine (small charge) and dryer (small charge) and included ironing board and iron.
The site itself was very quiet, and restful.
The only place we visited was Chedworth Roman Villa - which is only a short hop down the A429 - (ignore the sat nav instructions which takes you down many many winding teeny weeny country roads).
We were allowed a small bbq (off the ground) and it stayed dry for long enough to cook our supper.
Overall though whilst it was a nice quiet site we thought the premium paid for the bonus of being an adult only site probably put a lot of people off.

We were greeted by John and Carole the wardens at the time, who were very friendly and helpful. The pitches are generous in size but I would say you would need wedges under the wheels on most of them by the look of the sloping field as we did up at the top of the field which was also very windy but peaceful with no road noise or lights at night. I can appreciate what the owner is trying to do with the wild strips of grass at the back of the pitches but I must say if you get hayfever this is probably not the best site to go to as our eyes were streaming and itchy and it wasn't even a dry spell !
Lovely area with lots to see and do. There is a Tesco on the main road through to Stow and next to Tesco there is a council car park with plenty of room for motorhomes and its FREE! Just about 4/5 minutes walk and you are in Stow which is a nice little town with loads of individual shops. There is also a Co Op on the outskirts of Bourton with plenty of parking space. Huge car park in Bourton itself too, no problem getting parked with the motorhome.
There are quite a few National Trust properties around the area, though if you go to Hidcote don't let them park you under the trees as we were told to do and we lost our aerial which got hooked up in the branches!; Sudeley Castle is worth a visit especially with the roses being so nice at the moment and Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park with the rare breeds is nice to visit and try their pork sausages which are very, very nice!
If you run out of gas as we did, there is a place on the Bourton industrial estate which sells it even open Sat am. All in all a very handy site and besides the hayfever we enjoyed our stay.

Remember the Boat Pageant on the Thames in June? Remember the rain?
Well despite this the campsite didn't get water logged. There were a few large puddles in some pot holes near the toilet block but that was sorted out very quickly and we had no more problems for the rest of our stay.
When we visited again in August we had lovely weather - very quiet, massive pitches. We were always made very welcome and we were able to choose the pitch we wanted to stay on when we arrived.
The amenities area is always kept very clean. Two showers is ample for this relatively small site. We didn;t have to queue at all.
Fresh laid eggs can be bought individually - brilliant if you don't want 6 eggs and the farm vacume packs meat which can be purchased from the hut near the wardens caravan.
The site is situated centrally for numerous tourist attractions and there are some some beautiful walks in the area.
Bourton on the water is a beautiful village which gets very full of tourists. Arrive early if you want a parking place. We had some lovely meals in the restaurants next to the river.
We loved it so much we are planning to return for a 3rd time next summer.

Really loved this place and the owners who were camping on site were lovely
It's a well kept site, with extremely large pitches, with different areas divided up by long grass and bushes. *less good for hayfever sufferers!* There was a tap for every two pitches - luxury!
The shower block is heated, which was fantastic. So nice at night time! They were clean and this was helped by leaving a mop so that you could tidy up any long grass that made it onto the shower floors. Plenty of hooks on the back of the doors of the three showers. Free hot water, good pressure, no complaints. They did get a little bit busy in the mornings, with a queue forming as I left. Could do with a few more basins so people could get out of the showers to finish off what they needed to do :)
There was a washing up room with a couple of sinks, a washing machine and a fridge (not sure what the latter was for) and a basket of eggs with an honesty box (25p each) We took a couple, they made excellent egg sarnies
Very quiet at night - though there is a little bit of distant traffic noise, depending on the way the wind blows. The first night was absolutely silent. Second night we could hear a little bit, but it was so infrequent and far off it did not disturb.
Easy walk into Bourton - but uphill on the way back was a bit harder! Nothing else in walking distance though. Recycling facilities on site, but no rubbish bins - take some bin liners!
Would definitely come back here :)
