For weeks Steve an I had planned on camping in the Cotswolds. Then the rain came! But luckily the rain went so we booked a pitch at Field Barn Park. The idea was to chill out and relax and that's exactly what we did! We took our bikes and rolled the mile (approx)down the hill to lovely Bourton-on-the-Water and after a couple of drinks, mostly pushed them back! great fun. Then cooked salmon on the gas cooker out in the fresh air. We loved the park which is situated sort of in a dip, therefore sheltered. Peaceful, tranquil, friendly. Good facilities ie loos, showers, utility room. We shall return!

What a beautiful part of the country. The owners of this wonderful site have got themselves a little gem. The pitch sizes are very large. Enough room for caravan, awing, car plus space left over. The TV reception is good, Acess to the site is very easy as you turn in, you think you are not in the right place but it is signed off the road. The good thing about this site is when you arrive you just find your name next to your pitch number and away you go no booking in.
Bourton-on-the-water is only a couple of minutes by car, turn left out of the gate and carry straight on (dont turn left at first junction go straight on). We stayed here for the bank holiday and it wasnt over crowded. You have so much room around your pitch. The only thing that lets it down is that when it is full their are only three showers for each but hey you cant have everything when you have a beautiful place as this. I would just like to say to the owners Martin & his wife (SORRY)I have forgot your name. Thank you and please keep this site the way it is. We will no doubt be back.

The site is now finished and fully up and running. Fantastic clean facilities which have the potential to get overcrowed if the site is ever full (57 pitches) but they coped well with the 10 or so pitches that were occupied when we were there.
Good sized pitches allowing caravans to pitch sideways if required, with EHU and water always nearby. Adults only so no noisy kids running around!
Bourton is about a 15 min walk although uphill all the way back!
Will be a top notch site when all the planting has grown - at the moment you can see from one corner to the other!
Will definitely return - we need to sample the steak and burgers from the farm's cows!

The site is very new and is landscaped and planted with shrubs and trees. Once these have grown they will divide the site into screened areas.
The shower and toilet block is new and kept clean. The showers are continental 'wet room' style. The washing and laundry rooms were being fitted out while we were there.
There are plenty of water points, more than on most other sites I have been on. Each pitch has access to an electric hook up point. There is a chemical toilet disposal point.
The site is hidden in a fold of land. There is slight noise from a nearby hidden road but it was not intrusive.
The pitches are grass and while we were there it rained incessently. You needed a motamover or 4x4 in conditions like that. The owners were friendly and helpful and used their own 4x4 to help people out.
When we were there it was very quiet. For 2 days we were the only people on the site and for another 2 days, there was one other van. I think this was because it was a new site and people did not know about it.
The site is approx 1 mile from Boughton-on-the-Water and approx 3-4 miles from Stow-on-the-Wold
We would be happy to return in the future

This campsite will be great, when its finished. The washing up facility was not finished (no sinks available other than in the toilets), real shame they hadn't managed to finish in time for Easter but it didn't detract from the great potential this site holds. Whilst its great that there is a dog walk on site, it could do with going around the perimeter of the field rather than just along one side (I'm a male = hate going back on myself.!.)
Enjoyable public footpaths into Bourton on the Water, taking about 30 mins or so.
Owners were very friendly and helpful, enjoyed the welcome letter setting out their ethos with the site.
I echo the other review on here (must've been there the same time - Easter Weekend!). I reckon the snow just added to the ambience.
Once all the 450(?) shrubs and trees have taken off it will be glorious, particularly being adults only.
Had to put a good review, the owners kept complimenting my 74 VW camper!
Will defo be going back, and will bring some friends to enjoy this potential haven as well.

We decided to risk going to this site, even though it had no reviews, and we were glad we did.
We arrived to find the brand new toilet block not quite finished! I needed the loo while setting up so the owner drove me to her house nearby to use the loo there-very nice of her.
By the end of the day there were 2 usable toilets and they continued work on the rest during our stay.
The toilet block will be lovely when it's finished.
Men have 2 toilets, 2 urinals, 2 sinks and 3 showers.
Ladies have 3 toilets, 2 sinks and 3 showers.
There's also a disabled toilet/shower room.
The showers are wetroom cubicle style-no manky shower curtains.
The block has underfloor heating too!
There's also a completly enclosed washing up area with 2 sinks/drainers.
The field is quite level and the ground OK. Pitches are nice and big, most have electric and there are loads of taps.
There are separate containers for different sorts of rubbish and a chemical disposal point.
There's a hedge round 3 sides of the field, and it's in a bit of a dip, but the wind was still bad during our stay (weather in general was horrendous though-we had to pack up in snow!)
The track is quite rough, but not too bad.
There is some road noise, but it seems to be dispersed somehow by the hedges.
Once the newly planted trees and elephant grass are established, the pitches will be lovely and secluded.
There were loads of small birds in the hedges-some skylarks and various finches. The dawn chorus from them was lovely-much preferrable to the cockerel/geese found on some sites!
Bourton is just about within walking distance and is a lovely village, very picturesque with loads of places to eat and a small Somerfield. Birdland, and further afield, Cotwolds Wildlife Park, are both recommended.
We'll definitely be back for a longer stay, with better weather, we hope!
