A lovely quiet site on a gentle hillside with sweeping views over the Cotswolds. The loos and showers are well maintained and clean. The close proximity to Bourton makes it a great place to spend a weekend or short holiday. There is so much to do locally and wonderful walks around the Cotswold villages like Bourton and the beautiful Slaughters, it's a good touring base.
The approach to the site is a little longer and bumpier than you might expect, but don't let that deter you. The only slight downside is that there are only 2 loo cubicles and 3 showers in each of the men's and women's facilities. So it can be a little busy at peak times when the site is busy and the 50 or so pitches are filling up. But it is a farm based site after all and not a vast CCC or CC facility, so you make the choice of what you prefer. In our view the countryside, scenic setting and views are more than adequate compensation.
It's great that the owners have paid close attention to preserving their environment and providing pleasant surroundings combined with a good wildlife habitat, including hares apparently. Energy for the EHUs comes from a wind turbine too, so that reduces the environmental impact further. Colin (the cat) welcomed us and we really enjoyed our two night stay in the quiet surroundings. We will be back for sure, it's a gem!

Camped here over May Bank Holiday. Site fully booked but because pitches are well spaced there was no feeling of being overcrowded and toilet facilities were not too busy. An excellent site in a lovely natural location. Must be over 30 to stay here. Makes for some peace and quiet ! Walkable to Bourton and some great walks on the doorstep.

Our second stay at Field Barn. It was lovely to see how the elephant grass had grown making the pitches even more private. We received a lovely friendly welcome from the wardens. The pitches are very large and thoughtfully laid out. The facilities are spotless. We'll see you again soon.

A very quiet site with large pitches. The wardens are really friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The toilets are warm and clean, although a little dated, but this all adds to the rural, rustic feel of the site. Lots of privacy with well laid out pitches and shrubbery. The only disadvantage is the drive over the stone pathway through the field to get to the site as this was a little bumpy and awkward if someone is coming the opposite way, but wouldn't put us off coming back again in the future.

Stayed here for 9 nights 24th march to 1st april for my wife's birthday. All bar storm Katie we had a great time, friendly wardens Elaine and Ed and their dogs. Fresh eggs and meat in reception (cabin) with honesty box which was great if they were out and about. Toilets/showers clean and warm. The pitches were massive all grass and can face which ever way you wish. This park is cleverly laid out giving as much privacy as possible will definitely go back

This was our first visit to this site and enjoyed our 3 night stay Plenty of space between the pitches but some of them are sloping. The toilet block is heated and kept spotlessly clean. I would suggest that anyone who has mobility problems request a pitch nearby as some of them are quite a trek away. (For the amount of pitches I think another block would be appropriate)
I am all for recycling but again quite a trek to find the bins.
A few the opposite of the field would be helpful

As Newbies just spent a very pleasant weekend at FBP. Lovely location. Adult only site. Not difficult to access even with my 15m outfit. Drive is long and a bit bumpy but no problems. Reception was very good. Wardens are excellent. Shown to different pitch to one booked due to excessive rain. Quite wet underfoot but apparently it drains quickly. Good size pitches. Facilities block only max 50 yards for anyone. Very clean and very suitable. Well designed site with good shrubbery growing between pitches. Something we prefer with dogs. Shrubs can only get better with age.
Only had one issue (other than the rain!) and that was a regular breakfast time tripping of pitch supply post. Didnt happen at night. We are new to power usage and it was probably our fault. But with a 10 amp supply, it is worth noting. Warden came promptly to help and was very helpful. We need to learn quickly.
Access to Bourton on the Water is very easy. Couple of mile walk at worst. Access to some lovely villages is very easy and a delightful area to drive around (and walk/cycle).
Superb Sunday Lunch at The Slaughter Country Inn. Book in advance.
As with all sites we have visited, we need to try them when they are fully booked. Out of about 50 pitches only 4 were in use even in April.
8 out of 10 is good for us. My best rating would be that we would definitely go back there. And will.

Stayed at this site over Easter and have to say we were rather disappointed. We first visited in the sites first season when there was still work to do so thought it would be nice to return and see how the site had developed, unfortunately apart from the elephant grass growing nothing had changed.
The shower block was clean (which can't have been easy to maintain given the weather) and warm but it is a little dated in style and the shower cubicles themselves are rather small so that you can't really avoid getting your shoes/clothing wet. The site was full that weekend and there was queues for the showers every morning we were there, in fact on the last morning my husband opted to have a wash in the private sink cubicle as he didn't have time to wait in a queue of five people. I would suggest that perhaps another facilities block is needed maybe at the top of the site as it is a fair walk.
The site really encourages recycling which is great, but they don't have any actual disposal facilities for the rubbish that you can't recycle and I for one don't go on holiday to take my rubbish home, so we left it all bagged up by the recycling bins as did other people - it would be so much better if the site actually provided proper general bins for you to use.
Very nice location close to Bourton on the Water and very peaceful site, no actual shop although there is an honesty box for the sale of local burgers and ice cream which is delicious.
We actually left the site a day early as despite it being an 'all weather' grass pitch ours had become very soggy/muddy and we had already seen other people having to be towed off by the owners 4x4 as a lot more rain was forecast we decided not to risk getting stuck ourselves and left.
In summary Field Barn Park is quite a nice site, but would we return again no I don't think so as it does need some work doing and the facilities aren't really adequate for the number of people staying when the site is full. I also think that at £27 per night including £4pn for EHU it is rather expensive for the facilities/standards on offer.

Just returned from 5 nights at this site. We arrived without a booking at about 8pm and was offered a pitch no problem. We hadn't had time to shop but there were some take away menus in the information hut and Indian takeaway was delivered to the site it was very welcome. The pitches are big we had a campervan and awning and still plenty of room. It's a shame there isn't a shop on site to get the basics but bourton is only a short drive away. There is a dog walk area but dogs have to be kept on a lead because the walk is along side a corn field. The Park was quiet the toilet block was clean a great place for chilling away from it all. I would stay here again.

Having looked through this website for a nice Campsite in the cotswolds we liked the look of Field barn park and its reviews and the over 30's rule was ideal to ensure a bit of peace and quiet.
This site certainly delivers on that.
Great secluded location away from the road (although you can hear some road noise from the nearby A429 but its nothing to complain about)
The layout is great and the pitches very spacious albeit with a slight slope on them but again pitch right and its fine.
Toilet block in the corner was very clean, tidy and while may not cope under full occupancy, with the site half full as it was (probably an even split between caravans and tents) there were no issues.
Fridge/Freezer available and washing up facilities at the end of the block.
As someone else mentioned perhaps a small amount of low level lighting would help at night though its not an issue, just take a torch. We got to enjoy the clear starry night en-route to the toilet block.
Pleasant 30 minute walk in to Bourton on public footpaths (joins the monarchs way in to bourton)
Wardens friendly on arrival and promptly directed us to our pitch.
Cost very reasonable and electric hookups available to those who want it.
Plenty of Water points close to all pitches.
WiFi Zone by the entrance and info sheds.
We look forward to returning again soon.
