Went right in the middle of school hols and was fearing the worst as site was packed. But was pleasantly surprised as showers and toilets were kept clean and rubbish was kept in bins! Great facilities with plenty for kids to do during the day with clubs and classes. Plenty of entertainment on the night for all the family. Takeaways were no more expensive than at home, although store a little pricey so take basics with you. Three kids playgrounds and a soft play centre. All in all a great holiday and reasonably priced.

I booked this Haven holiday with the children in mind I have a 3yr old a 5yr daughter old and a 12yr old son. We invited their grandparents and a friend who had a 10yr old son and a 14yr old daughter. I was stunned when we arrived to be told to go and find a pitch then report back to reception with our pitch no. It was the middle of August and there was no room in the main field so after the 3rd trip around the one way system we finally found two pitches next to each other with electric hook up in the overflow field considering we had booked in advance why you are not allocated a pitch on arrival is a mystery. The overflow field had two separate portable cabins one for showers and one for toilet and washing facilities, the washing facilities rarely had plugs to enable you to shave and once washed and shaved you had to walk to the separate cabin to shower. The temporary generator which fed the portable cabins was running 24/7 so getting a good night sleep was impossible. We tried the swimming pool and after an hour or so we obtained a table and 6 chairs we checked with the reception to see if drinks were permitted around the pool and were informed yes providing they were plastic glasses this was approximately 12.00pm and just as we started to relax with our drinks the whistle blew and the life guards informed us that the pool closed between 12.30 and 13.30 so you had to pack your things and leave and then hope you could obtain one of the few tables that was around the pool once it reopened. The amusements are mostly ticket prizes and not cash so the children have to amass several hundred tickets to win anything of any value. On the plus side (if there was one) was the fish & chip shop 10 out of 10 the fish and chips were cooked fresh and reasonably priced. Although other plus was you are so close to Filey and Scarborough that the children loved to visit the towns at night and enjoy the restaurants and arcades. Would I revisit or recommend this campsite to any of my friends not in a million years Would I revisit or recommend Filey and Scarborough 100% yes. Come on Haven for the amount of people that were camping and touring on this site is one chemical toilet emptying point or 4 pot washing facilities really adequate.

Booked a weeks holiday with my husband and 3yr old son, read no reviews of site, but was amazed at how vast it was .Facilities very good for size of site, toilets always had a cleaner in them no matter what time we visited. The restaurants and bars were lovely and modern ,food great and very resonable. (very impressed with choice of annabel karmel meals for our son).
Enertainment for children very good ,our son loved Rory, but found that the indoor play area needed a good clean, and children who were far too old to be using it were spoiling the fun for the little ones.(using it as somewhere to muck about with their mates ). Most of these kids were early teens and were lolling about on under 5 play things, staff didn't seem to bother. The entertainment in the galaxy bar ,(when we could finally get in ), was good and our son loved it . We were there for five days, only managed to get in and get a seat once, opens at 6.30 and they were queueing with drinks in their hands at 5.30.On a dull day took our little boy swimming, the outdoor pool brilliant but weather a little windy,so went to the indoor pool,we found it quite dated and not very clean. A couple of nights found the tent field very noisy after 11.30 despite having a strict no noise policy,. But that is the fault of unreasonable campers rather than the site managers. Dont know if checks were made but no-one seemed to.
Situation of site ideal if, like us, you want to get out and about. Lovely scarborough and brid close by, had some lovely days out . All in all had a good time cleanliness and food 10/10 would visit again but would try Centenary way campsite, down road first. If couldn't get in would book for blue dolphin, but find somewhere else to go in evening as capacity in galaxy showbar inadequate .

Visted here for three nights with two of my Grandchildren, which is why I chose this site. Anybody familiar with Haven will know the set up regarding pools/clubs etc. We stayed on the overflow field and paid £20 per night for two adults, two children plus pup tent, you pitch where you like and there didn't seem to be any restrictions on pitch size, which was great. The overflow field is large and depending on where you pitch could be a trek to the facilities, the facilities were excellent for such a big site, there is a portacabin type set up with toilets and showers and then a larger permanent facilities block with toilets/showers and washing up area, considering how busy it was I never had to queue for facilities and they were kept very clean, although the girls had to queue for a power point for their hair straighteners. Overall a fantastic site and would revisit without children.

We booked this site as a last minute break after a dismal wash out in the lake district! We were a bit apprehensive as we had never stayed on a real commercial site before and some of the previous reviews were not fantastic. We decided to go with an open mind and at £24 for 3 nights with electric and fun works passes who can complain!
Found the site to be excellent for our kids age 2 and 1, plenty of outdoor play areas and an indoor soft play, heated indoor pool which was a bit dated but the kids enjoyed it (1 year old found the outdoor pool a little cold even in the sunshine). The sports arena was really quite old and in need of a revamp but apart from that we enjoyed our stay. We didn't go to any of the evening entertainment so can't comment but it looked very popular! Showers and toilet block were ok and there seemed to be a cleaner in there every time we visited, plenty of hot water for washing up and never a queue.
Would maybe return here and stay in a caravan next time, our kids loved it.

We visited blue dolphin for our first ever camping camping trip, and having stayed at the site in one of their caravans before knew our 3 year old would have loads to do. We booked an electric pitch at reception we were told we were best in the top field as there was a problem with the toilets but this was been fixed.
We found a great pitch right next to the play area great for small kids.
The toilets and showers were clean and tidy (busy at about 7 when everyone is getting ready for the clubhouse) All haven sites have excellent facilities on them bars, burgerking, shops, 2 clubhouses, indoor and outdoor pools.
We booked in advance on the net and paid 22.60 for 2 nights sat&sun and saved about £10.
The good thing with haven is after you have booked 3 2night stays you go into their 'freedom trail' club were you can get up 2 10nights where you only pay £1 for.
We really enjoyed our trip!

Just returned from 5 nights at Blue Dolphin.
There is no separation between tents or caravans unless you book a super pitch or hard standing.
The camping / touring field was very busy with litter everywhere. Opposite our caravan there were two young men playing loud music all day long from about 8am, to the right of our caravan a rowdy family drinking and shouting until after 0030 for 3 nights.
The toilet block is old and run down, on our first evening I went into the toilet block at 2130, the floor was swimming with mud and urine. The spoke to one of the cleaners the next day, she was working very hard but in the field we were in there is only one toilet block for hundreds of people. It also had an asbestos sticker on the ceiling.
The show bar was packed by 1900, with no seats available. I sat on the floor with my young son to watch the show and got flea bites on my legs. The carpet is filthy and sticky, the tables were also sticky.
The food in the bar was very average. The pizza shop ran out of dough one night so they could only make small pizzas.
In summary it’s cheap for the pitch, average prices for food and drink.

We used this site nine years ago and weren't overly impressed but after seeing the improvements that had been made we decided to give it a go. The site is two miles north of Filey but there is no direct beach access from the park. There are bus services to Scarborugh and Bridlington at the park entrance. No problem fitting our 25ft twin axle on the grass electric pitch but a bit unnerved by all the do's and don't's from reception not as friendly as usual from Haven. Got us wondering if they had a lot of rowdy families but nothing like that while we were there.
Very clean and tidy touring area, large with two toilet and shower blocks both spacious and clean and a small playground on touring site but more suited to younger kids than our 9 and 12 year old. Staff on main park were friendly and meal in lounge bar good value at £30 with drinks. Supermarket and entertainment complex much improved since our last visit and shop prices were reasonable and good choice of products.
Pool not really adequate for the size of park especially when only indoor open as we had rain. The same goes for the entertainment venue as although there are two only on used for family entertainment but just nowhere to sit and that was at 7pm! Disappointing as you pay more for Haven sites to enjoy the entertainment etc. Various takeaways and a delivery service to caravans from Papa John's pizza but sadly rang on Saturday night at 10 and they had shut early due to a lack of pizza dough!
Not really anything wrong with site but nothing special to make us want to return especially when its busy as you end up missing out on the extras you come to Haven parks for

We went to the Blue Dolphin, Filey for Half Term week. There were 6 of us (myself, my husband, our 3 children and my mother-in-law). We had a grass pitch with electric and also put our full awning up.
I went with an open mind as the reviews had been quite varied.
On arrival it was quite busy, with many units arriving for the Bank Holiday and Half Term. However, we were dealt with very quickly at Reception. I was surprised to find that we were not allocated a pitch, but just told to pitch up on any free grass pitch with electric! This was a bit of a nightmare, as many were already taken so we had to drive round a little while!
That said, we managed to get a great spot directly opposite the children's park (ideal for the kids). A warning to others is that the site is very uneven, so ensure you take your levelling blocks! The pitch was of ample size for our caravan, full sized awning and car.
During the whole week we found both the toilet block and the porta-cabin toilets to be of a really good standard. The showers in both were really good - but exceptionally good in the porta-cabin. Proper power showers with glass folding shower doors! No complaints whatsoever.
A small downside was that although the park operate a strict no noise after 11pm - the touring area was still quite noisy sometimes until early hours. There were children (as young as 5 or 6) still on the park playing with friends until 11.30-12 midnight! However, this did not ruin our holiday, and we all still managed to sleep (my husband and I slept in a bedroom annexe off the awning).
Whilst the site had a lot of things for children to do, I was a bit disappointed with the kids clubs held in the morning. It was very repetitive and not very imaginative. This was also the same for the evening entertainment. Another warning - if you wish to go into the Galaxy Showbar in the evenings, you will need to be there by 6pm to get a table!
We ate on a few occasions in the bar/pub. The food was very reasonably price and a pretty good standard so I would recommend it. The breakfasts are pretty good value too.
In summary, we really enjoyed the holiday and would be happy to book on this site again.

Just returned from a fabulous weekend at this site. We chose an electric pitch not too far from the toilet facilities and had plenty of space for our tent and two cars.
The staff were all friendly ,professional and welcoming from the reception when we checked in right through to the minute we left.
My other half, myself and two teenage girls found plenty to do and even wished we could have stayed longer as there was so much more.
I know this site often gets bad reviews but to be honest the bad points, which were the state of the toilets, were actually caused by the visitors and not the fault of the site. Some people just abused the facilities. Leaving wet wipes all over and blocking up the loos with reams of loo paper????
All in all we will definitely be going back. After all there are few times that we have been in the good books of my teenage daughter.
