Our first visit to Haven Blue Dolphin camp was 20 may 2013, we loved it so much that we couldn't wait to return, so we looked on the Haven Holidays website for the next available special offer, as a retired couple we prefer to go on holiday before the schools break up for summer, we found it so easy to book online.
As we went into the touring reception we were greeted with a friendly smile, and given our welcome pack with Passes, and toilet codes.
We set up our tv ariel and couldn't wait to go to the Mash Barrel for a drink.
We were surprised that the staff remembered us and came over to speak to us, we were well looked after, the barman even brought our drinks to our table.
The meals are excellent around £30 for a family of 4, and a pint of beer/Lager is £3. 20.
There are buses outside the camp to Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington.
We would recommend this camp and will return again and again.

We rarely spend time in a static van, but such was the weather, it was either that or not at all!
We were very surprised with this site, not at all like other profit mad, massive, cram 'em in sardine can sites!
It was huge, but it coped very well. Bars to suit everyone and a good menu if you didn't want to leave the site. Seafood in the basket is a must!
Scarborough and Whitby are a short drive away and the sea front at Filey is a great place to visit.
Now the bad bit. The caravan. It was very new, comfortable and spacious. The let down was the utilities. A Wendy House TV which I had to balance on a chair to watch. We have a 28 inch in the tourer, this was about 14. No cruet set, no egg cups, no tin opener, the list goes on and on.
Luckily, we don't eat in on holiday, but this was an eight berth van. Anyone with a few kids would have been hard pushed to furnish a meal.
Cracking site, but please, if you're reading this, check your van facilities.

Only stayed here for one night as we were just passing through the area. Wasn't sure what to expect with it being a large camp but found that it was very good. We are a retired couple so we are not too bothered about most of the facilities, but I do like very clean showers and I wasn't disappointed, they are excellent ! We had a look around the site so we could report back to our family ( with young children ) and were quite impressed, but be prepared to spend if you go there with a young family ! The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The food looked good and wasn't overpriced.

We Pitched our touring caravan for the month of April, which was a bargain at £199! Unfortunately the weather wasn't very good, but that was no reflection on our time there as we chose this site specifically for the added extras.
We found our pitch at the top end of the field quite easily. We booked a hard standing pitch, which are all located around the outside of the grass pitches. We found them evenly spaced with adequate space for an awning and a car. The pitches are all sloping so you will need some standing blocks, but if you forget them the site has a few bricks which can be used. This was our first time in our caravan, but there was a security attendant who was happy to help us out, and very friendly.
The shower block was lovely and warm with plenty of showers and sinks. Water was hot and the block was regularly maintained throughout the day. By far the best shower blocks I have ever used, as we have camped in a tent for two years previous to buying the caravan.
The play park was nice, and the kids enjoyed having the freedom to come and go as they pleased (age 7&9). A short walk through the static caravans brings you to the main entertainment facilities. The entertainment was of the usual high standard of Haven, however, I have seen better swimming pools. This is a bog standard swimming pool with a separate slide, still, it entertained the kids for a hour.
There is a Burger King, Papa Johns Pizza, fish and chip shop and bar meals available. We didn't use any of these as we tended to eat out whilst visiting Filey, Bridlington and Scarborough. These are relatively small seaside resorts but adequate enough for my two kids who enjoy nothing more than a dig in the sand and an ice cream. There are some rides, but no big ones for the thrill seekers.
If you're looking for relaxation and an easy going holiday this is the best part of the coast, and a lovely site. We will definitely be returning at some point.

We have never used Haven before, but our friends have always said it was good value. £51. 00 for a week including electric, plus our dog, was a reasonably safe bet. We could always move on after a couple of nights, CC and CCC would charge us that for 3 nights. We booked online on the Wednesday for one week, starting the next day Thursday. 1000 Thursday morning we had a call from Haven warning us of high winds, so please take care on our journey, 'wow'.
We arrived 1730 in the evening, they advised us that most pitches were slightly sloping, but as we were in a small motorhome, they had identified a pitch that was reasonably level, 'wow again'. They took us to our pitch, explained was was included including pool and shows, (although not really to our scene).
The whole site was clean, tidy and well managed. The shower/toilet block was one of the best that I have seen, warm, clean, staffed most of the day, with really nice helpful people. No closing here at stupid times. We were a bit concerned about the fact that it is a very family orientated site, and we normally use adults only, but don't be put off, yes you need a bit of understanding because children are everywhere, playing but behaving.
The whole experience was good, plenty of walks, good dog area, bus to Filey, Bridlington and Scarborough on the doorstep. Food in Mash and Barrel surprisingly good, nice currys. The staff (or team as they call themselves) at this Haven site, should be very chuffed with themselves, their customer service is an example to other caravan sites, well done.

On arrival at the touring and camping office, The staff was very helpful. Even helped with our bags to the tent pitch,
We used the disabled toilets/shower, They are very moden and clean. The heating was on day and night.
There is a small children's play park on the touring area as well as a field to take dogs for a walk.
The bus stop is very close to the reception, so good for days out to filey, Scarborough, bridlington,
I found that there was every thing you needed on site, We used all three outside parks and the indoor play area. All very clean and tidy,
The sports area was clean, and staff helpful, I found there wsa a lot of different things for the kids to do.
The main complex had a good choice of food, fish and chips/pizza/bk/mash and barrel I found the food in there to be good value as you can feed a family of four for £20.
Along with the amusements and swimming pool. There is two bars, With good Entertainment for all ages,
The staff was very helpful, from the door staff to the fun stars, was all happy to offer any help at any time
The only thing I did find hard was that every thing is that compact in the club, no room to get around, Also there was a lot of children just running around. So my daughter did bump in to a few things and trip a few unsupervised children over with her long cain.
But over all very good holiday site,

Just had a 5 night stay at Haven's Blue Dolphin. Pitch area was tidy, shower room was heated and water was very hot which was pleasing because the weather was so cold! Site wasn't busy due to time of year and weather so was quiet. Wasn't impressed with kiddies soft play room because the heating was broke. Found staff helpful on all accounts. On site chippy not good waited too long for food which wasn't up to standard. Some of the activities were not open like crazy golf, bike hire etc.

Have visited this site twice this year taking advantage of the special out of season offers. The toilet blocks were spotless and cleaned frequently, the facilities are good and the staff friendly and helpful. Many of the pitches slope a bit and can be very worn, if the site is quiet though you can just pitch on grassy bit to one side.
Lovely walk to Filey on the cliff top 'Cleveland way'.
Holidays only spoilt by the usual problem, irresponsible dog owners who let their dogs run around and mess on the grass, even if they pick it up its not very nice when your eating outside your tent.
Overall I think its a good site and will visit again in the future.

This is our 3rd visit to this site, nothings changed. Toilets were 100% clean. On site shop was ok. The pool was nice though on one day it was lovely and the second it felt cold, but not too cold to put a dampener on things. The check in ticket states 'no commercial vehicles on site' but this rule is blatantly disregarded, on our last night a fight broke out right outside our caravan at 2:00am. We made a quick call to security and it was dealt within minutes, and the morning after the commercial vehicle had been removed. The bar staff were as usual; totally useless and un friendly, it took 4 staff to decide a beer barrel had gone even though the queue was massive! but the funstars were 100% brilliant. The views from the top of the site are amazing! don't let the downsides put you off. All in all a 8/10

Large site, pitches easy enough to find ones we were on were little paving stones, was told to put jockey wheel on it by other campers which meant we were staggered but as we were talking up 3 pitches it worked fine for us. As with all haven sites club`s, pools etc are really busy during school holidays. Never saw a warden but clean toilet/shower block always hot water on tap. Will return for long weekend but preferably when we can get an offer.
