We had a great time, 3 nights (inc bank holiday mon) for £81 for 4 adults and my 6 month old son. We were greeted by friendly staff at check in and shown to our pitch, which was a bit uneven but we soon had it chocked up and level. The toilet block was always immaculate, with good showers and plenty of hot water. The bars were ok, reasonably priced, as was the spar. The on site pizza house was almost very good value! 2 XL pizzas, 4 bags of wedges and 4 large drinks for £26. Really tasty too. The pool was nice though the management of people could have been better. We queued for about 20 mins then rushed through and at the last min we found we have to take our shoes off, the people that already knew this pushed past and we ended up losing the parent and baby changing area to someone who didn't have kids so we had to change our son on our knees in a regular changing spot. Other than that it was a great weekend, good car boot only a few mins away on the Sunday. And plenty to do on site and its a lovely view from the cliff top if you walk up the little road that splits the site.

Decided to visit this site after the kids needing a holiday after SATS. On arrival met by friendly warden and given a map to our pitch. On getting to the pitch we found that the site was rather unkept and litter everywhere this may have been due to the gale force winds over the weekend.
There were plenty of rubbish bins but they weren't emptied over the weekend and stayed that way during our stay.
However don't let this put you off play area basic clean and safe with a picnic table to monitor younger children.
Showers very clean with a cleaning team permanently on duty cleaning them. Loads of things for the kids to keep them busy to give you a bit time for adult time. Spar Shop very reasonable and not overpriced bar restaurant again fairly reasonable, nightly entertainment great for the younger kids but get there early to get a seat. And by early we are talking around 5.30 to 6pm the queue begins.
The only downside was a group of 14 to 16 year old girls running round trying to buy drinks and being rowdy.
Great Time booked again for August £130 for 5 nights bargain.

Just back from 4 night stay, non electric pitch. Absolutely magic! We had booked for 3 nights at £15.00 total but stayed an extra night for £10. Bargain! Price included entertainment passes and we took our 2 kids (3yr and 18month) to a panto, painting and swimming pool, all of which were great.
Clean toilets, clean (and good quality!) showers, fairly priced and nice restaurant (typical pub grub around £7 for burger and chips/ steak pie etc). Also the on site spar didn't over charge and was very handy.
No problems, great holiday! Would go back.

Chose this site because of the out of season deal Haven have/had. Even though the visit was out of season, not during school holidays, the site was still quite busy.
The facilities in the tenting field were good, the toilet/shower block was clean, the tent field was quiet and there is a strict no noise policy after 11pm rule.
Haven include funworks passes in the price which allows access to various entertainment and there is also free wifi.
There is a supermarket on site and several places to eat.
Haven parks seems to be ideal if you camping early or late in the season because of the cheap rates.

I thought I should write a review of our stay at Blue Dolphin as after reading some reviews on here (after booking), I was dreading our first family camping trip! However it turned out to be fab!
On arrival I went into the reception and we were checked in very quickly and directed to our pitch. Our pitch was very spacious and everything was close by. Unfortunately we were on a bit of a slope but this didn't cause too many problems, we just had to make sure we were extra careful when cooking. We also had a park very near our pitch and the kids loved it.
Our nearest toilets, showers & pot washing rooms were in porta cabins, but these were always clean & warm. The showers were hot & powerful, so basically nothing to complain about.
The entertainment complex is typical of all haven parks, but this is what our kids love. The complex was clean and the lager was even drinkable! (I've been to a few haven parks and the lager is normally rank!) Unfortunately we found the staff to be rather miserable but again that is quite typical for haven.
All in all after dreading our stay here, we had a fab time :-), especially as we got on offer - £18 for 3nights with electric.

Just got back from blue dolphin, spent 4 days there on grass electric for only 24 pounds. Cracking deal.
Booked in at reception and was given a map of site. Set off to find my pitch. Going up the hill noticed quiet a lot of transit vans with ladders on their roofs. Thought it was a window cleaners convention till we got up to them. When we got up to them, they were mostly tree surgeons and landscape gardeners packed in like sardines.
A few more came after 8 pm and just mingled in with them. We heard a chain saw fire up about 9pm for about 5 minutes, just wondered how many kids that woke up.
Apart from that could not complain, toilets on site were fantastic never seen any as clean

I had booked Blue Dolphin as its like a comfy pair of slippers to us. I booked from Easter Monday departing on Friday 29th (Royal Wedding) I got a cracking deal of £26.40 for 2 adults and 2 children.
We had been on hard standing last month and I had forgotten how uneven these pitches are. If you book them make sure you have plenty of chocks of wood as you'll need them.
Anyway, we were on electric grass pitch 2 rows from the toilet block, so this was fab for a quick dash and the park was within viewing distance. We tried to check in just before 12 but were kept waiting till 12 on the dot.
No problems whilst we were there, delighted to find that the 5 a side soccer games are now free as are a few other sporting activities but watch out as you have to buy passes for the popular ones (£36 for 8 sessions!)
The pool was well used and one day we queued over an hour to get in. The entertainment was as you'd expect from Haven. The weather was fab so we tried to book to stay longer, it was a whopping £49 for one night or £54 for 3, meaning we would leave on May Day! We chose to do just that
We had tried to book at main reception but they told us it was full so I called Haven direct and they said they were 7 pitches available! We booked direct and went back to reception to tell them, quoting our booking references to save us moving and so they knew not to allocate our pitches in error. No idea why we were told we couldn't stay so please bear that in mind.
Fab Time was had and despite how busy the site was, we had no problems what so ever. Look forward to going back again in June.

We stopped here at the end of April. Very cold on a night but lovely through the day. We went with 2 kids (3 & 1yrs old) and had a brilliant time. We had a very smooth check in at the touring reception and were given a map showing us clearly where to go. The toilets/shower block was new & modern and the cleaners did a brilliant job trying to keep them spotless. There was a family bathroom which had a shower in it that you don't have to keep pressing the button which was good. You had no way of booking this family room so sometimes had to just wait your turn. They did have baby baths available from the cleaner which was also a bonus. The only fault I found with the family room is that there was no water drainage grill on the floor to stop the water from the shower (or baby bath if your baby decides to take out his plug!) to stop the water going all over the floor leaving you with no dry floor space to get dressed in. A minor problem really just thought it was a bit of a design fault. We were on the lower field of camping near the touring reception (with electric hook up) so had a bit of a walk to the shower blocks as the one in this field had not yet been completed. Again not a big problem but with small kids it would have been nice to be nearer. At the weekend they did open up some temporary portacabin style showers & toilets which were fine but not cleaned as regularly as the main block. The site itself was great & had everything we needed and more. We did not experience any load noise after about 9pm except on 1 night at the weekend when a family returned to their tent and had obviously been drinking. They also became quite about midnight so not bad at all. The kids loved the park & it had loads on offer for them. We had meals in the new pub a few times and found them to be very good & reasonably priced. Good service & polite staff throughout the site. We will definitely book to come here again next year.

We stayed for 4 days over the Royal Wedding Bank Holiday weekend. Cost was £19 per night for 8 people inclusive of passes.
We have used this site many times, so the slopes for pitching were no great surprise, however we have always booked last minute and stayed on the overflow field in the past, which is located on the left hand side upon entry. We don't require electric as we prefer to camp without it. We actually prefer the overflow field as you just choose your spot and there is always plenty of space unlike those who have a numbered spot in the main camping area, they seem to be crammed in a bit.
However, this time we were directed to the 'Tent pitch' area located at the very top of the hill, which we never knew was there, to the far right upon entry. Its a strange layout, and although quite flat the soil has been churned up by vehicles so badly in parts that not only was in not possible to pitch a tent, but it wasn't possible to even put a car in those areas.
Being in the Tent area meant we were closer to the larger toilet/shower block, which we have never used before. We were very pleasantly surprised by them, having expected them to be the same as the other toilet/shower area to the bottom of the hill. They were very spacious and clean, the showers were hot although the draining of the water wasn't good! There was an area for hairdryers and straighteners too, which I will remember for next time! The 2 pot washing areas were clean and so much better to the one at the bottom of the hill too. The one at the bottom of the hill has only 3 sinks, with an electric socket underneath one, where teenage girls had decided to plug in hairdryers and straighteners, it was very uncomfortable to be pot washing whilst someone was drying their hair, with bits of hair ending up in the sinks, not good!
The Tent area at the top of the hill is very close to the neighbouring caravan site Crows Nest, where we found them to be very loud especially in the early hours.
The wooden play area is in poor condition now, but our 5 year quite enjoyed it.
The Receptionist at Touring reception are usually very friendly and helpful. As we arrived, there was a wedding taking place on the TV at the reception desk and she was more than happy for everyone to go behind the desk and watch it, which was very nice of her!
Handy hint too for those that don't know, but there is a chest freezer in the Touring reception as you go in on the right hand side. It is free to use for your ice blocks etc, just clearly label them in a bag in the summer as it can get full. Over the Bank Hol weekend though we were the only ones that used it.
Next time we go, we will choose to be in the overflow field but think it worth it to make the extra trek up the hill to the toilet / shower / pot washing facilities up there.
I'd recommend this campsite for novice campers, it has lots of facilities on site for rainy days too, which is always a help when you have little ones!

This was our first time camping and it couldn't have gone better. The check in was quick and easy - I was a bit apprehensive about how we would know which pitch was ours etc, but they are numbered and we got a map etc.
The site is on a slope and I agree with other reviews that some pitches are probably worse than others but ours was fine. The toilets were clean, the showers were very good, clean and hot and the washing-up area was spotless!.
The only slight down side for us was that there was no area the lads could kick a ball around close by to the tent area, they had made friends with a few other boys close to our tent around 4,5,6 years old so far too young to go to the park by themselves, they just wanted to have a little knock around but couldn't because of hitting other peoples tent.
There are a couple of parks both our lads enjoyed. The swimming pool was ok, nothing great - 1 wavy slide and a medium size pool which is shallow so good for the little one but not great if you wanted to actually swim! (the outside pool was closed with ducks currently on it).
We have been to Haven sites before (caravans) and I remember the entertainment being better, Nevertheless the 4 year old loved it and was happy dancing and watching the shows, the older lad made a couple of friends and they went to the sports pitch most days - so he was happy.
Seemingly you can no longer use the children's 'Pitchers (drink)' in the complex and the drinks are expensive its a bit of shame really, not sure why Haven have stopped that as it was cheaper topping them up?. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but did have chips from the chip shop which were very nice.
The Spar shop is expensive as is any shop on a campsite and they do charge 5p for a basic plastic carry bag for your goods, but I guess so do most shops nowadays (so take your own bag of life if you don't want to pay it )!
The weather was great, very windy so that wind break was important (Shame my hubby said it wouldn't fit in the car, so we left ours behind).
There is no beach access from this site, which is a shame but all in all we had a great long weekend and would return (though I would try and specify which pitch we got!).
