A very nice site. Needs a few more fresh and waste water points on a pitch at the top of site bit of struggle getting aqua-roll from water point at the bottom of the site, nor can you get it under the tap or put your hose on it as its the push button type. Thats the only gripe really. Well located for filey, Scarborough, bridlington and whitby. Ate at mash and barrell very nice, you get a discount in afternoon so good value too. Need to be early to get a seat in the bars during school holidays. Bar prices same as pub. Pool looked ok don't go in so don't know if its hot or cold. Toilet block clean and plenty of hot water. Showers could do with a dividing curtain to keep clothes dry. Enjoyed our stay and would go again.

Just got back from our first visit here well what can I say the weather was awful with floods all the way there, and received a phone call from touring site office when we on our way to ensure we were ok with all the rain a nice thought. Once there, given directions to our pitch, we were lucky, having booked a fully service hard standing pitch, others not so lucky after watching the tractor called on numerous occasions to pull people out the mud. The pitches could have been made level when they made them seems a bit strange to make hard standings not level.

Facilities were excellent all though we didn't have a meal in the mash and barrel they looked really nice and not bad for price, with the young servers doing an excellent job. Nothing was to much trouble, considering we only paid £28 for three nights we will be going back

Just spend a very enjoyable weekend break at the blue dolphin at Filey NY. This final weekend to celebrate Halloween was a steal at £6. 00 per night for a touring pitch. They have spent a lot of money since I last stayed at the site. The toilet/ shower block which was of first class quality with adequate facilities per expected campers and very clean. The entertainment on an evening was also first class with all bars being full. Good family entertainment. I will be booking at the beginning of next season.

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at Blue Dolphin. We stayed Mon-Fri of the half term and paid £20 for an EHU pitch which included entertainment passes, for that price you cant go wrong!

Our pitch was on a gentle slope which didn't cause us any problems. The pitch was quite big and we had plenty of space all around us. We were next to the kids play area which was handy as we could keep an eye on the kids while we pitched the tent.

The shower/toilet/pot washing block was really warm and usually very clean. There was lots of hot water for both showering and washing pots. We never had to queue, even first thing in the morning.

The swimming pool and activities are fine, the water was warm and the changing rooms were ok, if a little smelly at times! Some of the free activities were a little disappointing, there were much older children at the 3-5 football coaching so therefore it was a bit unruly and the children didn't think much of the free 3-5 archery. They did enjoy family archery and water walkers. We didn't go to any evening entertainment so I cant comment on that.

The site is ideal for visiting the area, Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington are all worth a visit.

I wouldn't say it would be my first choice of park if I was looking for peace and quiet but when there was a party making a bit of noise (nothing offensive), security was there 11pm on the dot and we didn't hear another thing.

All in all, we had a really good time, and you cant get better value for money.

We stayed here for a weekend Fri - Sun. It was our first trip so felt a bit lost at first trying to set up and sort the pitch out.

Some of the pitches are on quite a slope (as was ours), but this did not cause us a real big problem.

The toilet and shower block was great, very modern and mostly clean. Showers were nice and hot.

Pot washing was also modern and we always found it clean.

There is a kids play park on site and we had a pitch opposite, which was good as we could keep an eye on the kids.

The price we paid was really good value, and it includes passes for the clubs / entertainment, so could not fault it at all.

Like someone has posted before there is a small freezer in the touring reception that you can use for your ice blocks.

Would definitely return again, although would be more careful about the pitch we got.

We spent 7nights here, not as bad as I thought it would be. We were lucky as we choose EHU so our pitch was marked out for us, and we had plenty of room. Was disappointed with the toilets, showers and washing up area though. It was just a porta cabin which the site hire for the 6wks summer holidays. I did take a walk up to new shower block and this was just perfect. Lots of room and huge mirrors with electric sockets below them so you can use hair dryers and straighteners. I do think if Haven thought about it they could build another toilet block in the Tent Fields.

The kids did enjoy the site they did a few activities which they enjoyed.

The entertainment in the evening was ok, but you would struggle to find a table. People would queue from about 5pm to make sure they got a table. We would go to the entertainment later on as our kids were a lot older.

On site also they had a Burger King, Pizza Place, Fish and Chip Shop and a family Restaurant.

Also there is a spar on site, not over expensive either, I would say it is more like your corner shop.

We also went for days out to Flamingo Land which was a great day out.

Gothland, where Heartbeat is filmed, a must is to have lunch in the pub.

Whitby which we liked, but the day we went it was really busy as it was the regatta.

There is still a lot I want to see in Yorkshire, but I think next time I will go to a quiet campsite just so we can see more.

We went last year when there was a fantastic hot weekend in September and it was very beautiful and hot. The staff are great very helpful.

The pitches are well maintained and the play area is fairly big, although depending on where your pitch is there is a access road the kids have to cross.

It is hilly we were at the bottom of the hill near the entrance which is close to the main road so you do need to keep an eye on your kids and who is walking on to the site.

As we were at the bottom of the hill and the shower/toilet block was at the top of the hill in the middle of the camping field, we paid to have the family room key which we got the money back at the end of the holiday. I will say it is good that it has a bath and shower and toilet but it is in need of upgrading to be in line with the fantastic standard s of the new toilet/ shower block. We did have to ask them to come and clean it as it was dirty and the drain did smell. We used it for the toilet as we have a young son who would never have made it up the hill to go to the toilet.

The new toilet block has a code to get in that your given on arrival which helped keep them clean from children messing around. They are very clean and well laid out, there is a family room within the block you need to get the code from check in to use which is nice.

The on site facilities were being upgraded as it was end of season so cant wait to see the improvements when we go next year. The pool is basic compared to some other Haven sites but is nice for a cool down.

Haven appear to be taking note that more people are choosing camping as it is more affordable and seem to be making the improvements that are needed.

My only real concern is there is no security and the entrance is right on the main road unlike their site at Golden sands which is at the back of the Haven site and you don't feel as safe or protected, also the park being on the middle tent site and the lower site has the one way road system all around it making it more of a concern with children wanting to go to the park and the road can be quite busy, they need to put a play area in each field.

It also was still very noisy late in to the evening which wasn't policed like it said when we booked, so if I hadn't had ear plugs I don't think I would have had much sleep!

All in all a very nice site will be coming back again.

We had a takeaway from the local pizza place and they delivered it to the camping main reception which is great.

Site is situated between Filey and Scarborough - approx 7 miles to each resort. Went for 3 nights with friends. A relative tried to book but was told that the site was full, however, there seemed to be loads of space in the middle of the camping field. Managed to get discount offer on the 3 nights that we were there. Went non-electric and were in the lower tent field.

The field sloped quite a lot and we managed to find a flat area at the bottom and there was plenty of space between the tents. I don't know how the field would be in wet weather as it was sunny all the time we were there apart from a shower one night.

The facilities were quite away from this field. The nearest water tap was situated in the next field with the EHU pitches so this was not ideal. The showers, toilets and pot wash were portable cabins, they were clean on a morning but not as clean in the evening so I don't know if they were cleaned morning only, but again these were in the next field with the EHU pitches.

These showers were also open from 8am to 8pm then locked. There is another block a bit further on which I did not use so cannot comment on. The tent field is not ideal at night. There were no lights in the field where we were so you need a torch/headlight to see where you are.

The non-electric field requires some investment as there was plenty of space in the middle to put a small shower/toilet block and it does seem like if you are non-electric then you have to make do.

You do get passes for the pool, etc which are free to use and there is a shop, bar, entertainment on site but these were a 15 minute walk from where we were.

As we were with friends we did enjoy ourselves (especially one who just gets there and does nothing all the time we are away) as we always do but I would not pay full price to camp on this site.

Whether I returned would be determined by price and availability of other sites.

We booked a last minute 4 nights away at the end of the school holidays for just myself and 2 kids aged 11 & 15 and got a great deal £98 for EHU and that included passes but it covered up to 8 people on one pitch so I felt it was very good value for money given what campsites charge these days.

Prior to arrival we requested a pitch as close to the toilet block as possible as I am disabled and have some mobility issues. When we arrived we were greeted by a very nice lady who promptly checked us in and showed us on a map our allocated pitch right near the lower toilet block.

Be warned that Blue Dolphin have changed their one way system on site (since we went last year) and the entrance is to the right of the touring reception not the left as it had been previously.

Our pitch was relatively flat and ample space for us (I'd guess around 8m x 8m) The ground was a bit bald in places but it wasn't muddy and seemed to drain well when we did have some rain.

The ground did not however like to hand back the pegs at the end without a fight though! Even though the facilities nearest to us were Portable cabins they were excellent and were constantly being cleaned.

We didn't use the upper toilet block this time but we know from experience that these too are very nice and modern and are always kept clean.

The main complex was a little further up the road and housed the pool, amusements, Spar shop as well as Burger King, a chip shop (which was excellent!) as well as Papa John's pizza.

We did not ventured to the club in the evening as they started queuing at 4. 30pm for a 6. 30pm start just to get a table! We did go during the day once and the entertainment was average but no doubt great if you were 7.

The pool was excellent and my kids both enjoyed an aqua jets session (mini submarines that pull you through the water. ) They also hired bikes whilst we were there (£6 each for an hour with £10 returnable deposit each) Loads to do on site but not enough time to do it in!

Sadly the only down side to our holiday was when we discovered our breakfast cereals and biscuits were taken from our awning during the night whilst we were sleeping.

Overall I would give this site 10/10 for value and entertainment given the price I paid, but had I paid full price I think nearly £50 per night would have made me think twice.

Would recommend to anyone and we'll no doubt be back again especially when there's a bargain to be had!
