Spent a week a blue dolphin as we have not been here for a while there was 3 caravans in are party 6 adults and 4 children and it is the worst haven site we have been to the tolets and showers where not all working we was there for 7 days and in that time the soap dispenser where never refilled the toliet/shower area was never cleaned.
There is only one chemical waste for all the site which is a bit poor as I have been on smaller site and they have had 2.When my brother arrived friday night the pich he was given the electric hook-up did not work and there was no-one around to help or fix it he managed to use another hook-up box it was just as well his lead was over 30 metrs, when we told the office the next day they said it would be fixed but on leaveing 6 days later it had not also if the weather is bad the electric will cut of.
In the entertament complex most of the staff are very unhelpful my 3 year old daughter got 50p stuck in the machine she was playing on and we was treatd like a thief and the fainy straw came when one of the security staff look at my son in his wheelchair and give him a dirty look as if a childin a wheelchair should not be there.
We did complain and we got a very helpful entertament manager who said she would deal with all the complants and said tha site would get better in the next year or so but by this time we had made are mind up to leave and we cut are holiday short by 4 days.
This was a good site a few years ago and hopfully it will be again I know me and my family are going to not go there next year but still will go to haven sites as the are usally very good value for the money.

Just returned from a fantastic weekend away, arrived friday to find reception was very busy at our surprise as I thought it would be quiet , did not have to wait long though to check in. Had to move sites though sites 1 2 and 3 are on a very steep incline and right next to the entrance, but once we where moved the site was fantastic.
The weather was a fantastic which helped us set up. The facilities where relatively clean and the showers were clan. The toilet key thing leaving the deposit was a bit of a waste of time as the toilets and showers where always open .
The activities on site where great and there was plenty to do for the kids. We did go to the club house on the Saturday night which was very full and very expensive although the entertainment was very entertaining. The pool was a bit cold and a bit small for the size of the park. But all in all the weekend was fantastic and I will definitely be returning again soon.
All the negatives are just things we picked up on it would not stop us from going back at all .

We decided to try Blue Dolphin after going to another Haven site the previous week.
We had to leave a £10 deposit for the toilet/shower block key, the door for the toilet was always open. Some of the locks didn't work or had bits missing. All we could hear was the toilet block generator going all night. The toilet / shower block is porto cabins. They could do with cleaning more often. I can imagine in peak times that there will be a long wait to use the facilities.
I was surprised that tents and tourers where on the same field as Reighton has separate fields, but this didn't bother us. The pitches are on slopes.
The touring and camping field is well away from the site facilities i.E amusements, pool, clubs etc. It felt like out of sight out of mind for us in the touring and camping field. I have my leg in plaster so we had to travel in the car to the facilities.
We couldn't find the area to empty the caravan waste as this was not on the site map and we couldn't see it around.
Plenty of amusement for the kids in the main building but it can become expensive for us parents. A lot of the merchandise in the character shop did not have prices on and I guess some parents wouldn't ask their children to put something back once they had queued to ask the price of something.
I thought the indoor swimming pool was very small for the size of the site and even with the outdoor pool I think in peak season this still would not be adequate for everyone.
The main bar really smelt of sick because of all the spillage of lager. There didn't seem to be any glass collectors which made the tables full of glasses. There was not enough bar staff so the queues for drinks at the bar were very lengthy. Drinks are over priced and so is the food at the chip shop and burger king.
The kids entertainment is more for very young children i.E under 7 or 8's.
We will definitely notgo to this site again.

Stayed August Bank Holiday weekend with 3 kids, quite brave in itself. Site was heaving but we had a good weekend. Didn't think the touring pitches were too bad, most seemed pretty level to me. Toilets and showers weren't the best, probably due to volume of people using them but not that bad. Blue Dolphin is a bit past its prime and in need of tarting up a bit, assume is on a Haven list somewhere due for some cash to be spent on it. Touring area maybe a bit 2nd class compared to statics but I thought ok. Entertainment good for kids though to get a table on a busy weekend you certainly need to queue before the club bit opens. The Haven Halfwits do a decent job of dancing about and entertaining the kids tho have seen better shows etc. Took an age to get an overpriced, slightly dodgy drink. Moan of the weekend - due to volume of people at bar, people naturally began to form a queue only for a Haven Halfwit to be sent along periodically instructing people there was no queuing system - cue scrum for the bar and utter chaos, ridiculous - surely on busy weekends a queue is fairest system. Tried to point to this out to Haven Halfwit but what do I know. Anyway 45 minutes later gave up on buying a drink and decided to wait and have a can back in the caravan! Had stayed earlier in year in a static and the bar staff then were incredibly rude, inefficient and slow. Now seem to have been replaced by Poles who were better. Food in the 'pub' bit was ok and not too dear, breakfasts decent value. 'chip shop' and burger king pretty pricey. Pool looked decent but didnt try it out as weather was nice for once this summer so headed for beach. Blue Dolphin ideally located for Scarborough and Filey etc. Loads for kids to do, can get some really good prices too (we paid £80 for bank hol weekend but can get cheaper than that). Typical Haven (been to a few)- tends to be a bit 'rough' and organisation a bit chaotic. Dont think have seen so many teenagers in once place!

First ever camping trip and chose this site for it distance from home, and special offers for weekends. Tents are a long way from the main complex. The pitches are not well set out unless on a service pitch. We had to pay a deposit for the toilet key but the door was never locked, this block was portocabins with a genarator running all night. They were cleaned once a day and by evening were dirty and smelly. The doors which are spring actioned banged all night. A very noisey camp with parties going on late into night and not monitored from what we could see. The site is well placed for all coastal towns and do not charge extra for gazebos. If you like lively sites and long walks for entertainment this site is for you.

Didn't like this site at all! From all the sites visited this has to be the worst! Only good point was the showers were warm and OK. Electric kept tripping out, the pitch we was allocated to was being used. Like other people have said, we was crammed in! they charged for everything! a short bounce on a trampoline was £4 ! and I had 3 children wanting to use this! chemical points and water was abit of a trek that we used the car! Went to the nigh time entertainment once as we could not get seats for love nor money. We found ourselves going off site every day to Scarborough and Whitby etc which we really enjoyed.

We have just got back from Blue Dolphin and have mixed feelings about it. The site is well situated for Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington, all can be reached within 30 minutes. The site itself was OK but the haven staff in the park complex were on the whole unhelpful and sometimes quite rude. The toilet/shower block, that has had been much slated was kept clean despite the efforts of a small number of people to sabotage the cleaner, who, whenever I was in the toilets always seemed to be present and working hard. The site shop, which is in the main park area is also well situated for the touring site, the prices are higher than elsewhere but this true for all sites of this type, and there are a number of supermarkets in the vicinity. There are a number of activities available (some free others at an extra charge) including an indoor and an outdoor pool which became very crowded at times, trampolines and miniature golf. We had a great time in the local area, spending only a fraction of our time on the site. We would not return to this site but it is a great place for families with small children as there seems to be always a lot going on.

We stayed here in for a week in a gold static caravan. It was well worth the extra money for the comfort and space. We chose a static as we came in may and couldn't expect brilliant weather. The facilities were great with plenty to keep the kids entertained. The only down side was having to get in the club early if you wanted a seat near to the front, as I have a one year old my husband and I would take turns crouching at the end of the dance floor to stop her escaping. The site has lovely views over the seas and towards filey and scarborough. We had some great days out in the area including flamingo land, scarborough, whitby, the north york moors railway including gothland where heartbeat is set. Also if you follow the south cliff road to the end you can see itv's the royal and if you're lucky can catch them filming! Playdale farm is very close by just through the village of cayton and is a great attraction whatever the weather as it has a big playbarn with mini tractors and soft play areas. The kids also loved feeding the baby animals and the hay barn, the cafe also does lovely home cooked food at really reasonable prices. There is also the major supermarkets all within a ten minute drive of the site, but the site shop is great and well stocked if you need a few extras. I would definitely recommend this site for its amenitites and location and will be returning either in a static or my own tent later in the year.

Just back from a week at Blue Dolphin in our tent. Upon arrival I was given a map of my pitch and having pitched (thought the space was rather tight) realised that someone was using my EHU point. Pitch was double booked but fortunately the camper van was moved and not me. We were sited at the top of the site which was quite windy. Toilets and showers were well maintained and never too busy. Swimming pool was good apart from the showers being cold. Went to the restaurant for breakfast before leaving and they had no white sugar. Didn't see much of the entertainment as there was never a table unless you went in really early. The week cost 55 pounds including passes for 4. I would go back but would try to get a more sheltered pitch.

Had our first ever camping trip to this site, we just went for the basic pitch, and were put on the overflow site. Unfortunately the weather was really bad and rained up to and including when we put our tent up. Overflow field was extremely muddy, we pitched on the right hand side under trees (mistake!) The site itself is excellent for families. Loads to do regardless of the weather. Only thing for us was with us not being electric we were eating out, and found it quite expensive and limited to choice. There is a fish and chip site (cost £11 for 2lots of fish and chips with a can of coke) a Burger King and a bar/restaurant which can get very busy and you can wait about 50minutes for your food. Entertainment is fine, loads for the kids. The site is situated great, we popped into Bridlington (for storm pegs!) and Scarborough, and not too far for a little trip to Whitby. Don't bother putting down a £10 deposit for the 'private' family bathroom as we found this dirtier than the normal shower block, if you do, I would advise taking a shower mat or old tea towel to stand on as ground was muddy due to bad weather. The site shop is well stocked and also has tent accessories should you need them. Have booked to go back end of August for longer, and have also chosen to get EHU next time.
