The site was very close to the town centre which had pubs, takeaways and all the shops you would need.
The owners were helpful and toilets/showers were basic but completely adequate.
The only downside was the lack of an internet signal, though WiFi was available near the toilets but not for the rest of the site.

Very welcoming host who organised a rack for drying my clothes for me.
Great location and facilities at an affordable price.
Payments based on trust and honesty of visitors, which I really like and I hope most visitors respect.

Brilliant site! Although when we arrived it was full we never had to queue for facilities, which were amazingly clean.
Friendly owners who are very helpful but who don’t impose…it’s a very laid back site! Garden produce for sale, we had tomatoes and figs…all of which were delicious!
Lovely to see families all enjoying themselves.
Loads of places to visit around. Shame Leiston Abbey is largely cordoned off…hopefully when made safe it will be better.
Sizewell beach close by, car park that you can actually pay with CASH! And it was only £2 for 4 hours, cafe on the beach and FREE toilets!
Altogether we would definitely recommend and we will be back!

Site was very relaxing and spacious. Facilities were excellent. Lovely site suitable for all types of accommodation and people and excellent for dogs. Space for children to cycle and play ball games, etc.
Site owners were lovely people and only too willing to answer any questions you may have.
Fresh home grown produce was a nice touch and we sampled some delicious tomatoes!
We stayed for 4 nights over August bank holiday 2024 and left on Monday bank holiday and we were assured that there was no specific time frame that we had to leave which was far more laid back.
Site is between Leiston and Aldeburgh and is perfect for exploring the Suffolk coast. You have Minsmere RSPB 15 mins drive away.
We will definitely be coming back!

Applefields was the perfect campsite for us - quiet, clean facilities, a small kitchen with kettle, microwave, fridge and freezer and hot clean showers.
It was excellent value and the owner was extremely welcoming and helpful.
It is in a beautiful part of Suffolk perfect to explore with some good local pubs and amenities nearby.

We have been to Applefields for a number of years. We are just back from 12 mights there. The site is a large, open, grassy one, with plenty of hookups and water points.
There are four shower units comprising shower, toilet, and wash basin as well as other toilets and showers.
There is a kitchen with a microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge and freezer. Also there is a games/reading room. It is a very well equipped site.
The owner, Sue could not be more helpful and friendly. She works incredibly hard keeping the facilities spick and span - toilets and showers are cleaned three times a day! There is often home grown produce for sale - cucumbers this year.
The great thing about Applefields is that you can mix tents, caravans and motorhomes. It is ideal for family groups. Although there is no dedicated play area for children, it is a great space to play games - cricket, rounders etc with them.
For pitches without electric it is £20/night, and £25/night with electricity. Showers are 50p. You can pay by cash or BACs.
We shall be back again next year.

Fabulous site, great facilities, toilets and hot showers spotlessly clean and well provisioned with supplies at all times. Kitchen with fridge freezer, washing machines, tumble drier plus clothes line if needed.
We didn't use the socialising room but what a good idea, if needed. Doggy wash, boot wash and facilities for disabled campers added to the benefits on the site.
Really well run and well kept, the owners worked tirelessly to ensure the guests were happy. Quiet times rules were well published and it was obvious if there had been an issue (there wasn't while we were there) it was easy to call the owners for assistance.
The pitches were well maintained, grass cut and plenty of taps around. Nice separation between three or four fields so felt more like a smaller site rather than giant fields of motorhomes.
Several people we spoke to returned year after year. Literally nothing was too much trouble.
The closest town 5 mins walk offered several take aways and a pub serving food, plus a Co op. Information was readily available on the site for food options etc.
Closest beach was pebbly but nice and had a little cafe on the car park, walking distance about an hour. Other local beaches were lovely too such as Thorpeness, car or public transport needed.
