Stayed for 2 nights on the last (glorious) weekend of May. Excellent, level hard standing pitch next to stream with enough room for awning and car. Wardens very friendly and helpful, providing TV aerial leads with £10 deposit for piped in channels BBC1+2, ITV 1,2+3, Ch4. No problems with power supply.
Well located along a valley with easy access to Bath up the hill or along cycle path, to roads where buses stop regularly. (Dogs permitted on bus FOC). Very quiet apart from occasional trains on the main line, only noticeable when outside.
Tent areas look great particularly the below mentioned meadow on the other side of the stream. Understand camping area may be reduced in future, being converted to additional caravan hard standings.
Toilet block in caravan area found wholly adequate with no queues noted, well appointed and maintained clean throughout with abundant supply of hot water.
Shop stocks the usual necessities and pub on site seemed reasonably busy - good beer and choice of local ciders, didn't partake of food but noted plenty of people eating.
Bath is a most beautiful city with many attractions concentrated within a small area. We were convinced we were abroad and not in the UK. To find a campsite of this standard so convenient to such a city is indeed fortunate and we are very likely to return.

Visited for one night on Bank Holiday Weekend late May , 2009, with one tent and 2 walkers. Price was decent for holiday weekend at 16.50 pounds for both. Very convenient to Bath (30 minute walk, or bus at top of hill), picturesque setting and despite the site being very full in the evening, was surprisingly quiet after 10:30 pm. Clean shower and dish washing up facilities. There is a meadow at the bottom of the hill across a small wooden bridge where you can pitch your tent where you choose and no vehicles are around with a small stream flowing along one side of it. Wasn't that busy in the afternoon but was busy in the evening (no more pitches available in the meadow after 8pm. But I saw lots of space up in the main area so I'm sure the owners would allow people to stay there). There's a pub on site as well. Really enjoyable site and if I visited Bath again would head there as well.

I’ve stayed at this site twice and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. Conveniently located just outside of Bath, the bus service into town from the top of the hill was a great way of getting to and from the city without having to take a car and pay for parking. The last bus back was around 11pm. The site has an abundance of wildlife including ducks, birds and rabbits. The tent pitches next to the stream are highly recommended. The toilet blocks were very clean with hot water and pitches very well maintained. The onsite pub was lovely – very friendly and cheap. Also recommended is the Thermae roof top spa in Bath – its fantastic! Would definitely stay here again.

Me and my partner stayed at this site for a long weekend at £22 a night. We were a bit apprehensive at first after reading reviews about the owners not being very friendly. However they were nothing but welcoming to us throughout our stay.
The site is an ideal base for visiting various attractions in Somerset. Bath is only 5 minute car journey, Bristol 30 mins, longleat 30 mins. I have to say the site is probably the best site I have stayed on for wildlife which was very surprising considering it's near a city. We saw kingfishers, woodpeckers, deer etc.
The facilities are very well maintained with heated toilet blocks with free showers & hairdryer. I also noticed you could have your own private bathroom for small charge (around £1.50).
All in all I had a very enjoyable weekend and I hope to return to the site soon!

Visited here for the May Bank Holiday where the site was nearly full. Stayed 3 nights @ £22.00 per night. First impressions on approaching up the longish drive were picturesque stream, and verges and grass areas all cut nicely. Tents and caravans were kept to separate areas each having their own facility blocks.
Our pitch was of a good size with plenty of room for a car and awning. The nearby toilet block was of a very good standard and seemed to remain clean all day, (no kids playing in and out).
We did not use the onsite pub/clubhouse, as the site is under new management and the chap is trying run the site, do the cooking, serve etc. and only a limited menu was available.
The Globe pub about a mile down the road gave good value/service and well organised recommended,average£7-8.00 per meal. Should you wish for something more substantial the Wheatsheaf in nearby Corston on the Wells road does good food at £10-11 per head.
Should you wish to Visit Bath, a short walk up the hill from the camp to Twerton the buses run about every 15 minutes costing £3.30 return per adult.
To sum up, a very clean/tidy and well presented site,in a smashing location, nice pubs nearby, with Wells ,Cheddar / Weston s Mare all in easy reach, what more can you ask. Recommended.

We stayed here for two nights at the end of autumn. Two adults and a basic tent (no frills).
The customer service of the site owners was not excellent, but it really does not matter.
There were only a handful of other campers there due to the time of year but it was perfect. Lovely pitch, excellent toilet and shower block (very clean) and beautiful surroundings all around.
The site has its own pub/restaurant with nice food and a cosy area to sit in the evening when it is chilly out.
We took the local bus into Bath and saw the historic attractions which are deserving of a lot of praise. The city of Bath is absolutely a must see for everyone.
Apart from the customer service this site is excellent and we are hoping to return here in the future.

This is a really beautiful site. Lovely grounds and really well laid out.
The tent pitches are raised, so no worry about drainage, with your own hard surface parking spot next to it linked straight onto the road around the site. The shower / toilet blocks are amongst the best I've ever seen (although quite a trek depending on which pitch you get).
There's a well stocked shop and a great pub which serves decent, simple food.
Conveniently placed for Bath, Bristol, Glastonbury etc. It was £16.50 a night for both of us, which given its facilities was pretty good
We only stayed the night, mostly the check the tent was still waterproof after being in storage over winter, but we'll definitely be going back there again

Stayed 28 Nov through 1 Dec. Site is in a picturesque valley with a stream running through the site. Amenities were very clean and no issues with availability. There was also a pub/restaurant on site as well as the reception/small shop.
The staff didn’t show us to the pitch, or provide us with the useful information about the site TV (connected via point attached to electric hookup box) i.E. That it is direct to TV as they stream 7 compressed channels direct and a freeview box blocks all channels. It took 2 cables (both from the shop) and a splitter (again from shop) before they told us the information and then the picture quality was poor. So one night we watched KungFu Panda on DVD instead as no TV.
The site is not well lit so once it goes dark it is dark with only a few dim lights at the Amenities Block and at the drinking water/waste water stations, otherwise you were walking around the site in total darkness unless you had a torch.
I would stay again at this site but now know what to expect, it’s a shame some things weren’t told before or when we arrived.
Looked on http://www.Doggiepubs.Org.Uk before we left home and found the Wheatsheaf at Corston (approx. 4 miles from site) which welcomed us and Mollie. The pub had a log fire and great hand pulled local beers.

Visited this site for one night at the weekend having just bought our new caravan nearby. Lovely site as described with nice pitches albeit a bit small.! If you want a decent pub with great food try The Globe down the road by the roundabout.

Just back from spending 5 nights here, and it was fantastic, 4 days of gorgeously sunny weather in October, brilliant.
It was very easy to find the site. And I followed the directions from their website. Entrance is well signed, and it would be hard to miss. The whole site is long and thin, laid out along a wee valley with the mill stream running through it. Entry and exit roads follow a one way system until you reach the reception area.
Reception/shop was warm and reasonably well stocked considering time of year, and booking in was a breeze. Keith, the owner, ran through the site plan with me, pointing out where my pitch was, the facilities, and cycle/bus access points.
The old mill restaurant/pub was excellent. Plenty of space in high season, but with the cooler evenings and the conservatory closed, it soon filled up inside. Tons of outdoor tables though, and I noticed what I think was a BBQ pit in one corner. Food and drink was reasonably priced, and the menu looked good. The bar and waiting staff very friendly and helpful.
The pitch itself was a large grass one, down among the hardstandings, with the mill stream running past. Complete with the site's duck population. Ground was in very good condition, and plenty of space to pitch tent, utility tent and make a suntrap with a windbreak.
Main facilities where spotless, and very high standard. Showers were sensor operated, with fixed heads, so no way to adjust for personal preferences, which is no bad thing. Waterless urinal system, private cubicles with sinks, bath and several ready mops and buckets spaced around made this one of the best I've seen.
There are plenty of fire points, water and waste water points dotted along the site. Bins and recycling bins where only on key points though.
Surrounding area has much to offer with places to visit. Bath is a stone's throw away, Cheddar gorge and the caves, Wookey Hole, Longleat, Stonehenge, Wells and Glastonbury to name a few. But always add time for journeys, Somerset has quite a few steep gradients, and narrow twisty roads, with large volumes of traffic.
All in all though, a wonderful week away, and the site is one I wouldn't hesitate going back to time and time again.
