This is a medium sized site catering for tents and caravans, situated on the outskirts of Bath. The site is level and grassy, with a delightful stream running across it's length. The pitches are spacious and most offer privacy and light. We were lucky and managed to pitch our tent right next to the bubbly stream, which was a very nice way to be sent to sleep. The site as a whole is very attractive, with plenty of trees and greenery.
The toilet block was clean and modern, and the showers hot and free! Despite the fact that it was bank holiday there were no queues during peak times, there being an excellent ratio of campers to facilities. Hairdrying, laundry, and ironing are all available too.
At the bottom of the site the stream meets a river, and on the banks the old mill now serves as the Site's Bar/ Restaurant. It has been well converted, and includes a large eating area, as well as a bar, pool -table tv and darts etc. Outside there are numerous tables along the waterside. The food was good and cheap, and the place was deservedly full of families enjoying themselves without having to venture too far with the kids. We had an excellent full English breakfast one morning which was served quickly and was very tasty.
The site also has a well-stocked shop, selling food and general bits and bobs, and a games room for the kids.
One of the best things about the site is its proximity to Bath, and all the attractions, which go with it. It is a five minute drive into the City, but for those of you who wouldn't want to try to find a parking space there is also an excellent bus service. A short footpath leads from the site across a field to a main road, where there is a regular and fast service into the City. (I think it cost us less than £1 each way).
