Just returned from a 3 day weekend stay at this site. Lovely quiet site despite it being a busy weekend. Toilets and showers etc very clean and modern. We have a 25 foot motorhome and had no access problems. (The entrance is partly one way operation.) We had a pitch right alongside the babbling mill stream (very relaxing). The bus to Bath takes about 15 minutes depending on traffic. The weather was good and hot air balloons were being flown from the adjacent field.
All in all a nice quiet site ideally located for Bath,
Really did not want to leave so the next best thing was to book again which we have done for a weekend in November.

I had read the previous reviews regarding small pitches, but I wasn't too concerned as we have a small unit anyway. However when they said small, they meant small and we struggled to squeeze onto our pitch. It was made more difficult because it was a streamside pitch so there was no space opposite to reverse it in. We have a mover so it wasn't a problem for us, but our neighbours had to manhandle their van onto their pitch. Thankfully, there weren't a lot of awnings up so it felt less cramped than it could have otherwise.
But it is a good site. The caravan/motorhome section is all hard standing, and the camping field is grass. The loos/showers were fairly new I think; large and spotlessly clean. Good location too, just under 3 miles from Bath city centre on foot via the Bristol/Bath railway path.
We tried the pub on site. The food was good quality but very very slow and the service was poor. People were actually getting up and leaving before their food arrived, it was taking that long.
All that said, we will be going back to this site as we had a good time.

We found this site noisy in the fact that Residents live on site, being only one road in so early morning workers, you tend to hear, wake you up and yes pitches are small!
Facility's are o.K. But that's all nothing to rave over.

Well what a lovely campsite! The pitches were marked out so you knew exactly where you had to pitch and park, no overcrowding at all. Prices very reasonable. The toilets were always clean and warm, showers pleasant and hot. Washing up facilties good. Shop had all the essentials and even local information leaflets-very handy indeed. We had a few drinks in the pub which was much cheaper than normal pubs. We didnt try the food but what we saw and smelled was delicious. There's even a little massage parlour on the site-how relaxing! The site was very pretty with a stream and nice walks-plenty of nature here! The owners do come over as a little brusque but were very helpful when one of our poles snapped-they gave a reel of ducktape and informed us that Millets was in the city if needed. Bath was b.E.A.U.Tiful, shops a plenty, lovely tearooms ets. We visited the Roman Baths which was fantastic and went on the scenic bus tours, £10 each but that was for two tours so well worth it, live commentary & recorded handhelds. Cant wait to visit this area again and will hopefully be staying at Newton Mill if not booked up! If you use a GPS to find this site-go by directions given on their paperwork or street names as the postcode entry literally 'takes you around the houses' very confusing.

We stayed 5 nights here so we could explore Bath and do some cycling on the local networks.
Manoeuvering the van onto the pitch was tight, and had to resort to pushing and pulling by hand to get it correctly positioned on the hardstanding (not easy with a disabled son and pregnant wife).
The previous occupants of the pitch had obviously been using some sort of flooring in their awning, which killed off the grass, and as we arrived in the rain, we had muddy puddles outside our caravan door. We put our awning up to stop it getting any wetter, but the ground didn't get much better than soggy mud.
Once the awning was up and the car parked alongside the van we couldn't actually get out of the car as we were so close to the awning on the next pitch. Entering our awning involved ducking under the guylines as the car for the next pitch was parked tight up to the lines. We honestly have more room at our caravan storage field.
Despite being shoe horned into our pitch and taking our lives in our hands everytime we stepped out of the van onto the slippery mud, we actually enjoyed our stay in Bath.
The toilet and shower block are great.
The playground is good.
The real ale at the onsite bar/restaurant is kept in excellent condition, Abbey Bellringer was available during our stay.
The food is reasonably priced and suitable for all the family.
Despite studying the O/S map we couldn't find an easy way to get onto the local cycle paths without getting off your bike and walking which was disappointing as our son was on a piggyback trike and doesn't walk. I eventually found a route via the BoatHouse restaurant carpark which took you onto the river Avon cycle route, but it meant going on 2 major A roads to get there.
Bath was great and we easily filled our time doing the touristy stuff.
Would I visit this site again? Probably not, but I'm sure many would.

Visited this site in the month when Midlands had major floods. The site was very understanding when we contacted them to inform them we would be arriving a day later due to the motorway being closed over night. A warm welcome from the staff greeted us on our arrival and they only charged us for 6 nights which I thought was a nice gesture.
The site was well laid out and our pitch was very spacious. The toilet facilities were excellent and well maintained given the poor weather we had through out the week. The shower were hot and very clean.
The small bar served good food at very reasonable prices, friendly staff who always made us feel welcome.
We decided to catch the local bus which was a steep walk up the hill at the back of the site. The bus ran every 20mins and took you into Bath which made a nice change from driving. If you have difficulty walking I would suggest using the Park & Ride scheme. If you turned right out of the camp site them left onto the A4 signs will direct you to the Park & Ride area. Again this was a very good way of avoiding the busy centre.
The Roman Bath is well worth a visit especially on a rainy day. It takes a good few hours to wonder round, so leave yourself plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere. The hand sets made the Baths come alive. The fashion museum is also worth a visit, our 15 year old daughter enjoyed the exhibits very much.
Plenty of places to eat, the pub on the roundabout near the site offered good wholesome food with a great pudding selection. In Bath we spend a wonderful rainy afternoon in a fish restaurant called Loch Fyne, well worth a visit.
Excellent site, good clean facilities. Bath is a good area for a holiday. We would recommend this site and will be going back very soon.

This is a very pretty site with a lovely stream running through it which is great for the kids and dogs to play in when the weather is good.
Pitches vary in size but you can book a large pitch (slightly more expensive) if you do have a bigger tent and we had plenty of room for our vario 600+ car and gazebo.
Efficient staff but we found them rather 'to the point' which could come across as blunt at times. A smile and a hello is always welcome.
The pub has plenty of tables to eat outdoors and the staff take your order at the table. We found prices reasonable with all main meals being less than £10 except for the steak which was a couple of pounds more. Food was good and delivered piping hot.
Plenty to do in the local area although one of the walks mentioned is a bit difficult to follow as the opening in the wall for the path after the scrapyard is so tiny I can almost guarantee you will miss it the first time you go past. The short bit of track between the opening and the towpath is very narrow and uneven (I almost fell off my bike) and there are some steep steps to negotiate as well but if you stick with it you do get to a the towpath along the river.
Plenty of hot water in the showers which were always clean and there was always a bucket of soapy water and a mop on hand in case they did get a bit muddy which I thought was a great idea.
You can extend your pitch to 5.00 pm if you wish but my advice would be do this well in advance as we tried to do it at 9.30 on the morning we were due to leave as we wanted to dry the tent out after heavy rain and were refused as the were busy. Consequently we were slightly late getting off our pitch and the next people had to wait a while which I found odd as you have to vacate your pitch by 11.00 but you aren't supposed to arrive to pitch before 12.00 so even though we were ready to go by 11.30 we still had people sitting waiting. I would have thought that since you have to book in the new arrivals would have been made aware they were too early.
Overall a lovely site. We are looking forward to visiting again soon.

Don't be put off by the housing estate and the approach as site is set in a hollow by a stream and is very picturesque. Unfortunately, the pitches are on the small side. We usually have an awning but didn't feel that we had sufficient room to use it so left it down as we were only staying four days So make it known when booking if you have a large outfit etc. The pitches are not lengthy either as our bicycle rack ended up in the trees! The dog walk was good and play area for the children was small but adequate, although it was very alarming to see that locked cages of gas bottles were stored in the play area when there was plenty of room on the slope across the road for them to be stored. (If on the off chance there was ever an explosion, god forbid, the last place you want it to happen is in a children's playground).
Food in the bar was good quality but pricey. Having just come from a site further south where children were still dancing in the clubhouse at midnight it was noticable the the atmosphere in the bar was very surly. The fact that children were not allowed after 10pm seemed almost Dickensian. Children are on holiday too! I can totally understand that some people may not want children running round the bar area so why not make the conservatory a family room after 10pm?
Bus service into Bath was excellent, although the pathway to it was a bit of an obstacle course to navigate with a pram and would be totally unsuitable for disabled visitors. Toilets/showers were very clean though we found it frustrating that we were queuing for one shower because the rest were closed for cleaning at peak times! The showers are sensor controlled so it was impossible to lower the temperature to wash my 2yr olds hair. I would suggest paying the small surcharge to use the family bathroom if you have young children.
Our other gripe was the position of waste water/water fill for motorhomes. This was outside the toilet block which caused some congestion. More importantly, it was on quite a slope. How can you fully empty a waste water tank when you are on a slope?! Likewise, you cannot fill a water tank properly when on a slope, as our neighbour found to his cost (water everywhere!) when his sensors did not register that the tank was full because the water was not level.

Just returned from a very wet 5 night stay at this campsite. Booking was easy and probably advisable as the site was extremely busy. Some form of written confirmation and site info would have been helpful- had to e-mail for info on arrival times and facilities such as ice pack freezing(available at 20p/ice pack). Directions to site were easy to follow. Check in was quick and easy with info about park facilities given.
We have a large tent and thought our pitch was a little to small. Difficult to park the car safely beside the tent. At some points there seemed too many tents squashed together for safety. Our pitch was in the copse at the end of the site which was close to the main road. Traffic noise was irritating not only to us but others we spoke to.
Toilets and shower in tent field were ok but more would be better. I assume these were not the award winning ones as those in the caravan park were bigger and better.
Laundrette and tourist information centre were very good.
Bar and food were ok but maybe a little expensive for families to use a lot. Service was also quite slow
Staff were pleasant and when asked could usually provide written information on the nearest supermarket/ bath park and ride.
Park was in a good location for visiting Bath, Bristol, Longleat and many NT properties.

A very pleasant site set in green valley on the western edge of Bath. Pitches on small side but mostly all weather, electric hook-ups and television connection. We felt although toilet block was an award winning modern facility it could be kept cleaner and better maintained. Site has an excellent pub / restaurant (service very slow on our visit - arrive early) choice of good quality meals and drinks at reasonable prices. Playground on site and stream (clean) running through site.
Site is used by mainly short stay visitors to Bath, many continental with whom a chat made our stay even more enjoyable.
Easy access to Bath via nearby bus (Approx £3 return) or by cycle along nearby Bath-Bristol Cycleway. Kennet & Avon Canal Cycleway starting in Bath is an excellent ride to Bradford on Avon.
Very pleasant site.
