With the weather so good, a few days off work and having always fancied visiting Bath, I searched UKCampsite.co.uk and found this campsite. Their website sends you to a booking engine/website, which I found cumbersome to operate and seemed to suggest that there was no availability. Hopeful that they may have last minute cancellation I decided to ring up directly and was surprised to be offered a choice of pitch types, two non EHU, one in meadow where no cars are allowed other on main site or another pitch with electric. As EHU was an extra £6 a night I plumped for non EHU on main site for £20 a night.
Campsite is easy to find and signposted from roundabout, there is a sharp turn into the campsite then over a narrow bridge and along a one way, tree lined drive that runs alongside stream and then opens up by the log cabin reception. The meadow can be seen through the trees and is accessed via a pedestrian bridge, we did walk over to take a look one eve but felt it a bit dark and dank.
Check in was quick, friendly and efficient. I was given a booklet of info and shown where my pitch was on a map and given directions. I was checking in half hour before check out time so was warned that pitch may not be vacant. She need not have worried as, it, along with good percentage of site was actually unoccupied. Maybe would be booker's had given up when faced with no availability on the online booking engine??
We were on pitch 101, on the half of site that is in front of reception. We were lucky as it was at the end of the row just before access to toilet block so was much bigger than others. Those in middle seemed cramped and very close, I think if you have an over sized tent then best to let them know as when booking they didn't request my tent size. Several times I could see envious neighbours coveting my generous pitch occupied only by a small two man tent while they tried to squeeze onto a pitch a third of mine, lol. This half of the site is split into three tiers. A row of non electric tent pitches, behind which are hard standing touring pitches with EHU and then highest tier is separated by the one way exit road. These tent pitches have gravel parking bays and then have elevated grassed pitches accessed via two or three steps. All three tiers access the same toilet block down two flights of wooden stairs. The meadow site also uses these toilets/showers and are accessed using access code key pads. I was initially displeased by the means of access to the block, as I'm not usually good on stairs especially open stairs but I had no problems. Sited where we were though, I did see and hear several people taking a tumble so beware especially if you visit in wet or icy conditions.
The block was mainly found to be clean and usable, a bad DIY paint job and engrained dirt around the edges of the floor and drains were noticeable but on the whole the block was modern and perfectly acceptable. A mop was provided to mop out shower after use but as often is the case, not always used by all! Unfortunately with only three showers and three separate sink cubicles, there were queues early morn as pitches filled up with the approaching weekend.
Had a wander around and the park, second half of site behind reception is much nicer with mature trees but was totally set up for tourers and motor homes and a few obvious seasonal's. Toilet block here was much bigger and even had a bath.
Lovely children's park behind reception but didn't seem to get much use, probably because a lot of children were cooling off in the stream. Didn't have the chance to use the bar/restaurant/beer garden but it looked very inviting and if my phone hadn't died I may have made use of the free WIFI over a drink.
A couple of miles drive into Bath itself, or you can drive to Newland park and ride 5 mins down the road. Bath itself is wonderful I loved the tourist atmosphere and wonderful shopping. We visited the Baths wandered about and also went to the American museum. We did plan to do much more but the exceedingly hot weather was energy draining so plumped to also enjoy the sunshine sitting on our pitch enjoying the peace and quiet and serenity of this gorgeous campsite. Already plotting my return and will be asking for pitch 101 if one of you people haven't already booked it, lol.

Spent a weekend at this site with family/friends and would recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet and peaceful time. The pitches are generous (mostly hardstands for caravans), shop, bar, restaurant, kids play areas and shower/toilet block were all well maintained and of good quality. Staff were always on-hand and glad to help with any queries.
Situated in a small wooded valley with a stream running through the length of the site and although it is quite big at 200+ pitches it is set out in such a way, in smaller sections, that it feels like a small site. Close proximity to the Bristol / Bath cycle route which takes you directly into Bath town (approx. 2 miles).
Will definitely be returning for another stay sometime soon.

First visit to this lovely little campsite.
Has everything you need for a perfect getaway, whether with children or without. The pub on site was great and the food was good, dogs are allowed in too if you have them with you.
A little stream runs beside some of the lower tent pitches and those with children made the most of the paddling opportunities.
Didn't really use the on site toilets/showers, but they do look to be in need of a refurb, but very clean nevertheless.
The play area looked well equipped and fun for little ones.
We caught the bus into Bath which was very easy and reasonable at £3. 10 per adult, return.
All in all a brilliant weekend away for 2 adults to visit Bath.
Our only gripe is that we were pitched next to a large group of tenters and unfortunately there was no thought for anyone near them, be it the shouting, music or the kids running everywhere.
It certainly didn't spoil our weekend but next time we'll ask for a quieter spot and we'll definitely be returning. This site is a little gem!

Great location near Bath.
Not ideal for those who prefer camping in the wild. A bit too organised for our liking. Given a number of a pitch that we had to put our tent and car on. On arrival there was no chance we would fit them beside one another as both parties on either side where over onto our pitch! A little bit more space per pitch would be better! We had to park our car in the car park near the reception instead.
Always pay online through pitch up website as the campsite are charging more on arrival! Paid £10 per night. We needed to extend and we were asked to pay £20 per night!
Nice site, shop/bar on site. Reception only open til 6, so not ideal if you want to collect freezer blocks after then!
Toilets - clean/tidy/plenty available/hot water.
Good for children as there is a play area/stream etc.
Shop approx 5mins away for all the supplies!
We probably would not return as we prefer places where we can pitch and not be so close to our neighbours that you can hear one anothers conversations over dinner!

Fabulous.
A big site with a small feel; pitches are well spaced and the whole site is set in a pretty valley with a stream at its edge. My pitch overlooked the stream which gave it a lovely, private feel; others (further away from the reception / bar) are also bordered by a small wood. Through the wood, across a playing field and a hop across the road, the Bath-Bristol cycleway gives easy access to the city.
The on site bar / restaurant is better than any I'd expect from anything calling itself a 'holiday park'; the facilities generally are clean and spacious, and the staff all friendly and helpful.
The down side? I can't think of any.

Just spent 3 days at Newton Mill and was very impressed with the site. If you want a lovely restful break in beautiful surroundings then pick Newton Mill. The site was very clean and tidy with the grounds well maintained. We didn't venture out to the bar or restaurant so are unable to comment on these facilities.
The toilet and shower block at the top camping area were clean and tidy if a little tired. Would have benefited from an additional hand dryer as the only one available was slow and invariably meant walking out with wet hands.
We took our two little dogs and must say that the dog walk area was a definite challenge both for them and us. We found it much better to exercise them and us on the flatter roads around the site. We started to walk into Bath via the footpath through the lower part of the site but once out of the wooded area and into open space, we then found ourselves walking along a very busy road. Not really what we had hoped for with two small dogs. We did find the charge for the dogs a little expensive at £5 a day for the two.
Despite little niggles we would definitely go back again and would recommend it to our camping friends.

This was my 4th or 5th visit to this site, as I've used it as a base when visiting my daughter, who was at uni in Bath.
It is a well maintained and clean site. The reception/shop area, has changed from my last visit, and not for the better, the selection of items in the shop and the visitor information has reduced some what.
They do provide a booster system for us without sat dishes, but unfortunately it didn't really boost signal enough, as I kept loosing signal every 10 seconds or so.
The toilet block has stayed the same, although still kept clean I feel it may be ready for a revamp, my main complaint is the showers, they have a fixed head that is angled, so that when your go to rinse you hair, you may as I did hit your head on the wall.
My other problem with this site is for a single traveller it is very expensive, and the money doesn't seem to be going into improvements.
Also some noise from the train line.
Didn't use the on site pub this time, but it was ok for beer prices in past, but meals are expensive for what they where.

Nice well kept campsite. We were on pitch 65 down the bottom end of the site as you drive in. Great location next to the stream that entertained the kids when wading in their wellies.
Great dog walk with good views and a path through the woods out the back of the site which gets you to the Bath-Bristol footpath as well as the riverside walk. About 2 miles into Bath centre but a nice walk. Return bus back from centre stops just at top of hill from site entrance.
Can only vouch for the campsite facilities near to our pitch but the toilets/shower room were always kept clean and saw a cleaner on numerous occasions.
Water taps located close to pitches and tv aerial point at hook up posts.
Site pub was nice and good selection of beers/ciders. Didn't eat in the restaurant but always saw lots of diners tucking in. Free Wi-Fi at bar/restaurant.
Overall a nice site and easy to find. Would definitely stop again.

Myself and 2 friends were cycle touring and used this site for it's proximity to Bath which was about 5 mins cycle down(up a hill and down a hill) the road, through Twerton where there's a couple of shops for supplies(co op).
The site is quite clean and has a stream running though it which is great to hear if you have a pitch nearby but it had been raining a lot and those pitches were too boggy. We pitched up on a raised area which was fine. The bar was good with friendly staff and an adequate selection of beers. The food was good also with some smaller options.
Free wifi.
The toilet block was code entry and as one of the other reviews mentioned it did seem a little grubby.
We stayed at a time when the site was quite so it was nice and peaceful (apart from the slight road noise and the very occasional plane).
The site says it's pet friendly which I tend to avoid because of dog mess on a place where I have to sleep but the few people I saw with their dogs kept them on leads. I also didn't see any dog mess.
I would use this site again.

Have just returned from a weekend stay, we chose this site having stayed in May to visit Bath.
Due to the vast amount of rain we'd had recently the site was very wet and the grass boggy.
On arrival the staff were very helpful and gave us all the necessary information needed. We found our pitch and set up. Had problems setting up our tv as reception is poor and a fly lead is needed as there are tv points on the ehu post.
Had a meal in the restaurant, excellent food and very reasonable. Service very good.
Short walk to bus stop and regular service into Bath.
Facilities were clean and warm, and a new wash block is being put up in the new year.
Certain pitches on this site get quite a bit of noise from the river and the passing train and yet others are perfect, can be luck of the draw with what's available.
However will definitely use again as is good to visit our son in Bath.
