Stayed here for 4 nights May half Term. Chose this site because of it's good reviews and we were not disappointed. Received a wonderful friendly welcome from Keith and Louise the owners, Keith taking the time to chat to our 2 children whilst we were booking in. This a very pretty site, set in a valley but with level pitches. A lovely babbling brook runs through the site, which the kids loved paddling in. The play area was great too. The site was full whilst we were there, and some of the tent pitches were a shade small, so make sure you ask for a larger pitch. E.H.U pitches looked fine, and down by the stream you can pitch where you like. It was a very well kept clean site, the toilet and shower block very modern and immaculate. Free Showers, plenty of hot water, and free hair dryer in the ladies. Also a bath available for a small fee. The staff in the bar and restaurant were very friendly, particularly the chef, he was great with the kids. Not a huge menu but enough to choose from and look out for his specials, very nice food! Located close to Bath, 5 minute drive from the Park and Ride or 2 minute walk to local bus stop. Would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area.

This site was fantastic! The facilities were immaculate, and having small children I loved seeing them have the run of the site as everyone drove with great care, if your kids got a bike this site is great. The food in the club house was excellent and good value. We went back the following weekend!

My girlfriend and I visited this campsite for a couple of days over May half-term, and can highly recommend it. We only phoned up to book the day before arrival, but were accommodated with no problem. There are three main areas; a caravan field, a camping field with allocated plots, and a paddock where tents are pitched wherever you want. We were allocated a pitch in the camping field, which is on the side of a hill but has steps cut into the land to ensure a flat pitch. The pitches were of average size; they were fine for our 3-man tent, but a couple of very large tents next to each other would be a tad cosy. The reception area was housed in a wooded cabin which sold basic provisions, as well as lots of useful local information regarding the area. As with other reviews here, the toilet block can only be commended - very clean and modern with plenty of showers. We were advised on arrival to use the toilet block in the caravan field as the camping block became busy at peak times, which is a short stroll away from the camping field. Thanks to this advice from the owner we never had a problem finding a free shower in the morning. Breakfast and dinner is served in the bar, or on the tables outside by the river if you fancy going al-fresco. The bar itself was nothing special, but the prices were reasonable, the portions very generous (and homecooked) and the banter with the waiter was top class! One of the other reviews here mentions that the 'road' to exit the campsite goes right through the camping field, and warns of potential traffic noise. We were right by the 'road' but didn't find it a problem as the pitches are raised up above the level of the road. In any case, people only drive at a snails pace because of the speed humps so I wouldn't count this as a concern. There is a river towpath which can be accessed through the back of the campsite that leads right into the middle of Bath. This is great as it means you don't need to worry about public transport or parking in Bath. It is perfect for cycling although can be walked as well - it took us around 40 mins to walk at a leisurely pace. All in all a top campsite and a great base for exploring Bath.

We had a superb time, what a lovely site, all the facilities i.e. toilet were first class, very clean the pitch was excellent. We went at Easter great for the children with egg hunt, wellie throwing, We really enjoyed our stay and will be going back very soon. The bar was cosy and very friendly, we would recommend this to anyone especially with children.

We've stayed at this site a few times now and have always found it to be top quality.
The toilets and showers are spotless and the underfloor heating is brill when it's a bit colder.
We recently visited on a bank holiday weekend (last minute booking) and the staff kept hold of a pitch for us even though they couldn't take a reservation
The pitches are always good quality but are varied in style. Some of them come with EHU (always go first). There are some on the terrace (too small for really big tents but they always check first before you book). The pitches in the coppice are very nice and have no foot traffic but you can hear the road from there (goes quiet at night). The pitches in the paddock are more "free range", you have to cross a footbridge to get to them, but all you can hear is the river and you're not too far from the shop and toilets.
The bar is enthusiastically run at night - it is not expensive (same price as our local). The bloke who serves the food deserves particular mention.
The weekend "all you can eat buffet" was particularly good value.

Brilliant! One of the best so far. The toilet/shower blocks were kept very clean. Hot water in the showers all day which was lovely after a long bike ride to Bristol- and they were free. We went on a bank holiday and it was quite busy. There were queues for the showers mostly every morning because of the amount of people but I don't think that they realised that there was another shower block on the caravan field. The washing up area had four sinks and drainers (but they disappeared on the last day). Kept very clean. There were also bath rooms available for a cost (didn't try them though). Didn't use electric hook up at this time but there were plenty points to hook up. The pitches were allocated so you couldn't choose where to pitch. The pitches were well maintained and fairly level. The only thing I disliked about the tent field was that it was based around the main road to exit the site. We wasn't put near the road but I can imagine if you had a tent near here it probably got quite noisy. This didn't put us off at all though. I would just recommend you to ask for a pitch away from this road if you don't like to be woken up early in the morning or late at night by cars or caravans passing. Dogs are allowed on site and there's also an area for you to walk your dogs. There was also a large pitch for backpackers which looked quite nice. This was situated across the stream that flows through the site. There's a well stocked shop on site and the occupiers were really helpful. There's easy access to the railway path that leads to Bath and Bristol. It took us about 30 minutes to walk to bath and the next day we cycled to Bristol which took us a long time. the railway path is a lovely walk though on a nice day. We was lucky with the weather we had sun all day which made it a whole lot better. Some mornings we could hear the hot air balloons over the other fields- some nice views of them too. There's a little village nearby which has a Spar a few little shops and a takeaway. The only downside is that there was no cashpoint on site or near and the bar only took card for over £10- so make sure u carry cash with you. Overall we definately recommend this site to anyone wishing to camp (not sure what the caravan site is like) We would defiantly return back to the site.

We visited this camp site as the location for Bath was ideal. We were not disappointed. On arrival, we were given directions to the cycle track and the bus stop. We cycled into Bath along the cycle track which took about 15 minutes. There is a bus stop nearby and the bus takes you directly into Bath for £3.00 return, and the last bus home is approx 11pm (but check exact times at bus depot).
The toilets and showers are spotless and are cleaned on a regular basis and there is even a bath available. The Bar and restaurant on site serves lovely food and is reasonably priced. There is an adequate children's play area with climbing frame, slide etc. When we arrived and set up the van, about 7 or 8 ducks came to greet us. You can buy food in the shop for the ducks. Now this is more of an observation, but there were quite a few touring caravans that looked like they have not moved for a few years, but these were all at the bottom end of the site and were no bother at all.
We will definitely return to this site, hopefully sooner rather than later.

What a cracking site! My girlfriend and I spent 3 nights here over Easter and we had a great a time! The facilities here are second to none. The toilet/shower block were by far the cleanest I have ever seen, they were absolutely immaculate!
The bar was also superb and we felt we didn't have to venture off site to seek a better 'watering hole' The Bellringer Ale was superb! Although we never ate an evening meal there, the food did look excellent, large portions at a good price! We did eat breakfast there a couple of times and it was top notch grub!
The people were very friendly and helpful too and helped us find walks, supplying us with maps so we didn't get lost. The landlord of the pub may come across as being a little short and abrupt but be assured he is a great bloke with a wicked deadpan sense of humour! We thought he was great!
Be prepared for the very loud morning singing of birds, but hey, what a great way to be woken up! All told it's a great site and I would definitely recommend it.

We will definitely return to this site. We found staff very welcoming and helpful the site was beautiful. Will definitely take bikes next time as surrounding area perfect for that and would be able to cycle to Bath. Toilets and showers were fantastic. Didn't try the restaurant but from the reviews here will definitley try on our next visit. I agree with others that plots are a little close but was no problem really, just used to more space. But happy to be closer so more people can enjoy this site. A definite must visit.

Very pretty site but very busy. Shower and toilet block good but no hot water for washing up on the four occassions we visited the washing up sinks. We rarely saw anyone else washing up so suspect that everyone had same problem and had resorted to using sinks in vans. The on site pub/restaurant does have a bit of a club atmosphere but the food is excellent. Within easy reach of Bath and the site did provide good local information.
Response from Site owner:
"We had a temporary problem with the water heater for the washing up sinks which was fixed as soon as we could arrange for a technician to come - all other hot water was operating as normal. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused"
