 I booked online, it was easy and the staff had all the information at hand.
Upon arrival I was greeted warmly and was given a site map and code for the toilets, we camped on the meadow a long narrow field lined all around by trees and a stream, it was a little muddy in some places bearing mind the rain recently it was fine.
To access the meadow you have to park the car close to the bridge and carry your camping gear over, we had our weekend tent and kept our kit to a minimum so a few more calories burnt than usual and for once the kids were helpful, it is a nice place to be and feels like a mixture of wild camping but with full facilities nearby.
Other pitches are across the other side of the park and were mixed in with the odd caravan; they were dedicated pitches mostly with EHU but were not our bag.
We went to the bar/restaurant on both nights and found the drinks inexpensive and ate on Saturday night, obviously things have changed as they had a new chef and both the soup and lasagne for £10. 00 was excellent, the kids menu was also excellent my son having the burger chips and salad and my daughter having the Annabel Karmel lasagne, there was entertainment on both nights.
I try and avoid club houses but with two young children, it was a nice atmosphere, I felt it was fine and I am fussy, candles were lit inside and outside had tea lights on the tables, this is next to the stream so take some insect repellent.
The toilets were clean, modern and the hot free shower went on for more than 10 seconds without shutting off, there was mud in the odd shower, but this is due to people walking straight in, there were mops and a floor squeegee provided but I guess some people don’t care.
We walked to Bath with a map provided by reception, it is a long walk with children 5 & 8 and we managed to go the river route and stopped off at the Dolphin Inn on the way, fairly good food but a welcome sight. We also stopped off at Royal Victoria Park enroute, probably the biggest playground I have seen, it even has toilets for boys and girls separate from the adults.
I do not need to go into how nice Bath is, so I will make comment on my experience that Newton mill, must have improved it’s game since some reviews comment on the staff, I never found anyone rude, just lots of smiles and helpful staff, the food seems is on the up, made fresh rather than frozen our overall impression is very good, maybe review power on here works and things have changed judging by some reviews in the past, we like it this is largely due to the meadow and staff.

This is a 'tranquil' site but one should be aware of noise from planes and trains. An attractive site, and Bristol /Bath cycle track accessible via a pleasant, but muddy, footpath. There is a footpath to Twerton, where there are some shops, and walkers can get to Bath this way as the river path is accessible from the 'The Golden Fleece'. We were told this by a friendly couple in a pub in Twerton. It's a good walk and not a 'stroll'!
The site has a little note about the path to the cycletrack, if asked. It is a pity, though, that more information about footpaths, cycletrack, etc. is not readily available at the site reception. They provide a map of the site with instructions for setting up in big print; it would be more useful to have smaller print and put information about facilities like TV and where nearest shops are etc. We found the staff pleasant and, on the whole, helpful but my daughter encountered some indifference when she asked for help as her pitch had some potholes which filled with rain.
To be critical, the pitches are not spacious. We had a fair sized pitch because my daughter was asked the size of our caravan when she booked.
The toilet block at the farther end is adequate if dated in some respects. The showers are good and free. What was off-putting was that, although reasonably clean, the facilities were grubby. For example, the floors were mopped every day, as far as I could see, but there were marks left by the mop. The floor needs an industrial mop now and again. The sinks were clean but around the taps was always dirty and plugholes had hairs in them. Mops were available to mop out showers for the next person but the mops were filthy looking. There are neat notices asking people to mop out etc. Early in the week there were 'J' cloths to wipe the washing up sinks but none after the first two/three days. Washing up area is good though and under cover. The place just needed a 'deep clean'! Cleaners were very nice and helpful. One of the toilet roll holders kept falling off, so I am told! Toilet paper was always available.
I don't know about the toilets at the other end of the site as they have key codes and I could not get in. The site must only provide codes for those staying at that end.
My husband liked the bar and restaurant and was pleased with the free wifi. Lucky the bar man told him about it when it came up in conversation or we'd never have known!.
But no one from the site told us about the TV link at the electric point either; a kind camper told us after watching unsuccessful attempts to get the sat dish to work! My husband did the same for another caravanner later in the week. Still, who needs TV!
The dog walk was fine but overgrown at the top end. The play area is good for families and gated but only one swing for babies/toddlers.
The site is well 'starred' but these few things let it down.

Beautiful location. Ideal for touring Bath. Tranquil site despite being just outside the city. Large site with a variety of pitches. Good sized and well marked pitches on the top part where we camped. Looked a bit cosier on the bottom part. Shop on site was able to freeze ice packs for us.
Had a meal in the restaurant the first night but we were forgotten about. It had been unusually busy and the chef was grumpy. We were eventually served but the food was poor. I expect it was OK on other days.
My only complaints were that the toilets kept running out of paper. Thankfully I always carry my own but don't feel I should really have to. The toilets and showers were also never overly clean. There were mops available to clean up after a shower but no signs to explain their use.
I camped at this site a few years ago and would camp here again bringing my own toilet paper!

Wonderful site, set in a picturesque valley you feel as though you are miles from anywhere, yet only a short distance from Bath and all it has to offer. Reasonable tariff with seasonal offers as well. Very efficient site office with pleasant staff. Good access from the main road. Well laid out with a one way system. Decent facilities, good club/bar and very handy for the Bath - Bristol cycle track. One of my favourites.

This is a great site and we have stayed here twice. Its perfect for visiting Bath as there is a bus stop right outside the site.
There is a nice restaurant and a children's play area. There is usually live music at the weekend and there was a falconry display also.
The staff are friendly and the toilets and showers are very good. The pitches are level and a good size.
Would recommend this site.
Also in the area are the dundas aquaduct and canal visitors centre and there are many good pubs within a short distance.

First time to Newton Mill thought it was a nice site
Clean with good size pitches on the top part of the site they did look a bit smaller on the bottom part though.
The shower block was average. The bar was good and they even let me take my dog in there, they did a good deal on the food with get a free kids meal with a adults meal and it was very nice meal.
The only down side was the camps hook up kept going off due to being over loaded about 3-4 time over 3 days.
Bath was good to visit and they have a great kids park near the towns centre (never seen one like it else where). Will go back

We stayed on pitch 44, and had none of the problems that the previous reviewer had.
This is a fabulous site, yes the pitches are not huge but they are the same as other sites we have been to. There is one road from the pitches off of the site, and then there is a separate way out of the site, but most campers are aware of the fact that you need to hitch up etc and are happy to wait.
The showers and toilets were very clean and well kept, we went bank holiday and never had to wait.
There is a bar/restaurant, we did not eat but the food looked good. Each night there was a singer or something going on, one night it was a falconry display.
There is a lovely walk from the end of the site that takes about an hour and will take you into the centre of Bath, it is along a disused railway and the river Avon.
We will be returning, as it is a goof value well kept site.

A very well presented site - in a location a few minutes from Bath. Great access to the site and yet felt as though in the country.
We stayed on pitch 130 - the EHU was about 30 metres away. When I asked at reception they were able to lend me an extension cable for my EHU.
Small children's play area which kept our 2 year old entertained for about 45 minutes.
Award winning showers at the bottom of the site, the rest are clean and tidy.
Onsite 'pub' seems to open 'as and when'. We had a meal and there were more things 'off' the menu than on it. Plenty of seating - although it did lack a little atmosphere. As mentioned, we had a 2 year old with us - so didn't sample the 'live' entertainment (something on most nights) about 21:00
For £11 a night including EHU etc - a great base to explore Bath and the surrounding areas.

Our first impressions of the site were great. Very helpful and friendly reception staff and the first few pitches we saw looked fine.
We were on pitch 48. The pitch was amongst caravans that obviously had people living in them. Most of them had 2 or 3 cars or vans with them. The pitch was tiny. There is a gravel area just big enough to get a car on, then you have a gravel area for your caravan then an area of grass for your awning.
We just about got our awning on the grass area, but when we parked our car there was only about 3 foot between it and our neighbours awning and 2foot between it and our van.
When a motorhome pulled onto the pitch the other side of us again there was only 2 or 3 feet between that and our awning, we had to use the side door to go in and out.
It was also a nightmare when we left as the road through the site is only wide enough for 1 vehicle, so not only was it tight to get the van out, we got the van hitched up onto the car then someone wanted to get past so we had to rush putting on stabiliser, connecting electrics etc so that we didn't hold them up.
The grass was lovely and neatly cut but they don't collect the grass which then got walked into the van, no matter how many times we wiped our feet. It was so annoying.
It's such a shame that they cram so many pitches in as this could be a lovely site. The toilets / showers were always clean and all the staff friendly. The bar/restaurant was nice and did reasonably priced food. It was in a lovely peaceful setting.

Stayed for just one night whilst visiting our son in Bath. We were put on pitch 6 which was in a good location, nice and level and not too far from facilities. However our view to our right was an RV(which hadn't been moved in months) about 3 times our length so couldn't actually see anything past it.
Facilities clean enough but I would say 'dated' and reminded me very much of school changing rooms. Have definitely seen better, and why close for 2 hours to clean?
Staff in reception very friendly and helpful and gave good advice.
Had breakfast in restaurant on Sunday morning, ok but coffee was awful, it came out of a machine and I don't think there was any coffee in. Pointed this out but was told 'that is how it comes!'
Bottom end of park looks a bit abandoned and looks like people live there or have just left their vans there but does look decidedly shabby.
Easy walk into Bath which would be the only reason for returning.
