We arrived in the middle of the afternoon. At the desk not a smile, I think they don't even look at me while talking to me and probably one the most expensive of our travel.
The pitch for the tent was nice with the small river just behind the tent, and they authorised me to go there with my motorbike and I thank them for that.
The night was a little noisy with car park just the other side of the river.
The 'red fruits' near showers were delicious.
Showers and toilettes were clean, hot water.
A nice place but if we have to travel around Bath again, I will try to find an other place.

We were a bit concerned having read other reviews, but could not fault this site. It is well maintained and in a beautiful setting, you could hear noise from the road a bit, but it wasn't loud enough to keep you awake.
The toilet block was clean enough with hot water and free hairdryer and we did not have to queue at all. The staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant and the shop seemed well stocked with essentials (no newspapers though).
Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat in the restaurant. There was entertainment laid on in the bar and I even won £25 on the bingo! I would definitely recommend this site and would use it again to visit the lovely City of Bath.

This is a well kept site in a beautiful setting with excellent showers/toilets etc. The setting in the valley is very good for older children with the woods and river to explore. The children particularly enjoyed the walks up the hillside.
We did find it difficult to manage a pre-school child at times given the lack of space around the tents to play in and the number of cars passing by. The play area is lovely but requires close adult supervision and a special ‘visit’. Trying to erect a tent and keep an eye on a small child at the same time in such circumstances is a challenge!
We chose to eat in the restaurant given the pouring rain and enjoyed the food although it's a little pricy.

The toilets and showers dirty and ill-maintained.
The toilets have code locked doors with keypads too high for young children to use.
The pitch we were given for a large 8 man tent was sloping and so it was nearly impossible to get a good nights sleep. The pitch was also over-used and badly maintained, it was 75% bare earth and covered in twigs from over-hanging trees. We paid £24. 50 for the pitch, and that was without electric hook-up, very expensive.
Intermittent traffic noise all night from the Main Road running past the site and from cars travelling around the site at all hours (mostly breaking the 5mph speed limit considerably)
The shop was inadequate with very little to buy, and the Apple Juice we bought there turned out to have already been opened !
The bar had no atmosphere and the staff were not particularly friendly, although the food was OK but pre-prepared and microwaved in most cases.
Only thing really going for the site is it's closeness to Bath, but as we weren't there to visit the city, just a nights family camping and to see a few friends this was not really a plus point for us. There are no local facilities (pubs, shops etc) within easy walking distance of the site.
The Playground on site was well maintained and enjoyed by our children (9, 6, 5)

We have just stayed on this site for 12 days. We were only going to stay for 4.
This is a great site, we had ehu with tv point and everything worked great.
The toilets were clean and although site got busy at weekend we never had to queue.
The pitches were ok for size and were well sheltered.
The staff were friendly and very helpful.
The bar was closed on thursdays due to staff shortage, but as we only used it once, this did not affect us.
There are some great places to eat out of site of camp and some great places to visit.
So we would recommend this site and hope to get back sometime in the future.

This was our 3rd visit to the camp site and I would recommend it to anyone going camping - we paid £20.00 per night and stayed in the paddock as you get to choose where to pitch your tent. Facilities on site are excellent and very picturesque. Bus stop not too far from campsite which goes directly into Bath - last bus back is 11.15pm so handy if you want a full day and night out. Will definitely be visiting again.

At £25 per night I expect more than a steeply sloping patch of grass that was mm bigger than our tent. It was three flights of steep, unmaintained steps to the drinking water, which was only available in the not very clean toilet block - which needed a code to enter, and the code pad was 5' high, so kids couldn't go without an adult in tow.
As one of our party was disabled and another a small baby in a pram, this was totally unsuitable for us - yet there is no mention of accessibility issues in their literature/website.
The staff were generally miserable, the shop is utterly useless and, again has steps to it - no level access. There was a lot of traffic noise from both public roads and traffic in the campsite -even at 2 or 3am!
We did eat in the bar, and that was good pub grub type fayre. Well cooked, fresh produce, and a reasonable amount for decent prices - but there are no shortage of pubs that do the same a short walk away! The bar staff were generally offish, when not downright rude.
The site was beautiful - with a nature trail, pretty stream and plenty of scenic trees ect. But as it has a public footpath running straight through it, I am not sure how much credit goes to the camp site!
Bath itself has more than enough to keep any kind of tourist happy fr days, if not wes - but is a drive/bus ride away from this site, which is nearer to the the little village of Saltford, which has nothing of interest and is not very interested in catering for tourists of any kind!
Overall, I really don't understand why anyone would pay the kind of money they are charging for the facilities available. Will definitely never be returning.

A lovely site, spacious, nice trees, clean, decent facilities and level. For the two of us, with the caravan and electric in June, it cost £73 odd for 3 nights - which I considered expensive. Access onto canal path straight into Bath, but it`s 2 miles so a bike is more appropriate.
The park and ride is just across the road, but that costs £5 return for two people. The normal bus service is more costly still.
The Roman baths are really good. I wouldn`t recommend the city tour bus though, (expensive and not that good).

We don't usually stay 2 nights at the same site (we usually tour around on our travels), but this site was well worth staying 2 nights.
It's in a beautiful setting in parkland and our pitch was next to the stream which winds its way through the site, complete with family of ducks.
Looking at some of the previous reviews, I do recall that some of the pitches seemed rather closer together than most sites, but our own was fine.
The site is beautifully maintained, and appears to have plenty of facilities on-site, though we didn't use these ourselves.
Nice, quiet, relaxed site rather than one with lots of kids running around, so you can enjoy the peace and the setting.
It's a fair walk into Bath itself, but is mostly level and follows cycle paths and tow paths (pub en-route if you get thirsty.)
There's not much nearby the site itself, save a walk into the local village, though without much in the way of sign-posts, it's tricky to find your way.
We really enjoyed this site, and would certainly visit it again if we head into the same corner of the country.

Having booked this site prior to reading the existing reviews, I was a bit wary about what we would find. However, this is a lovely site and we have had a very relaxing week there. The site is very green, sheltered because it is in a valley and relatively quiet apart from the odd train or plane (it appears to be on the flight path into Bristol airport).
The reception area was busy when we arrived but the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Later in the week I spoke to someone on the site who said there had been problems in the early days of Darwin Holidays taking over, but it was now getting better.
The site is quite large and was very busy (Bank Holiday weekend and Half Term week) and the units did appear to crammed in on some parts of the site. Although there was always plenty of room to the front and rear of the pitches if not at the sides.
There was a good mix of caravans, tents, motorhomes etc and a good mix of people, some old, some young and some children. There was a great play area for the children. And despite the number of units, the toilets and showers were never too busy.
The toilet block was always very clean and tidy and the water was hot. There was a free hairdryer. There was also a bath, for which you could get tokens for the hot water. There is a bar and restaurant on site, but we did not use them so cannot comment.
Most caravan/motorhome pitches seemed to be hardstanding with grass alongside. All looked as if they had hookups and T.V. Aerial hook up too. You can borrow (for £10 refundable deposit) a long TV hook up cable if yours won't reach. The man did say that on some pitches you couldn't get BBC1 and BB2 (our pitch was one of them!), but that someone was coming to fix them soon.
There is very easy access to the Bath to Bristol cycle route which is along a disused railway. It's about 2.5 miles to cycle into the centre of Bath. Nearest major supermarket (Sainsbury's is about 2 miles away).
There is a shop in the reception area stocking the basics. There is a bus into Bath from outside the site. Easy access to the A4 straight into Bath or Bristol. Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole about 20 miles away.
It's a bit more expensive than some sites maybe - we paid £250 for 7 nights (2 adults and a 7-year old) with electric and TV hook up, but we will definitely be going back and would recommend it.
