A medium size site which was very welcoming on arrival. Due to the rain the streams were very full. The pitch was flat but at the top of a bank therefore it was a walk down some very steep wooden steps to get to the toilet and washing block. The showers were always clean and well presented.
A short drive into Bath from the site but easily walk-able in 30-40 minutes. Lovely things to see and do around Bath made this a very nice UK destination.
Both my wife and I also visited the complementary therapist that operates from a cabin on the site. We both had really good massages and would highly recommend it as treat.
When we were there we had an issue with ant's nests springing up under the areas that our groundsheet was placed near the front of the tent. This meant we had to be extra careful on packing away to brush off all the soil and ants.

Enjoyed a sunny visit here in our new caravan, finally treating ourselves after many years in a tent. Didn't find pitches too close together and managed to get our van on first time, not bad for novices! We found the staff very helpful and always around, the toilets and showers were kept very clean.
We took bikes and the proximity to the cycle path was brilliant, and then the flat ride to Bath made it easy.
We enjoyed a meal at the on site bar and was very impressed with the food. It was a bit lacking in atmosphere as we were the only ones there, but then the site was quite quiet.
Our boys aged 6, 9, and 12 found the park a bit to small but were able to go across the bridge and play with their balls in the paddock.

This is the most expensive and worst site I have ever stayed on, mainly due to the size of the pitch and close proximity to other vans etc, and the noise of site traffic and trains, Bristol to Bath line 200m away and 20 feet above you, starting at 5:40am.
To get on and off the pitch took at least a 6 point turn, how a caravan would of managed I don't know and what a fire risk. Electric hook up close by, television points not working, told due to digital switch over.
Staff were efficient, Toilets etc were OK, apart from busy times, did not use the Bar or restaurant. Site is very pretty, at £28 per night, not a good deal, with much better sites around and much better access to buses, cycle track and path to Bath,

Visited this site for the New Year. Having read recent reviews I could well have been put off visiting but for the fact I like to make up my own mind. I'm glad I did. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating when we wanted to stay a little longer on the last day to dry out our unit. The pitches were big enough for unit and awning and car with plenty of depth. The toilet facilities were very clean, plenty of hot water and heated for the winter. We didn't use the pub or restaurant ourselves but many did with various curry and quiz nights and a hot buffet for new years eve at a very reasonable price. Nice and close to Bath and shops. Dont be put off by negative comments try it yourself.

We booked this site, to visit Bath for some Christmas shopping, and then read some previous reviews, so we were not sure what we would find, arrived during a downpour, parked at reception, and we were met by a lady who very efficiently booked us in, explained all about the campsites various amenities including the clubhouse, even down to the time of the buses, we could not have asked for more. The shop looks well stocked with basics, although as we were only stopping for 2 nights we were already stocked up.
The pitch was fine, by the stream, and a lovely heated toilet block, which was spotless, no complaints there, and my wife loved having a bath after a hard day walking around the shops, for which she had to buy a token from the shop.
Bus into bath £3.50 return, was really very convenient every 10 minutes or so, we had no need to use the van at all.
Did not visit the club house, so cannot comment on that.
Upon leaving we met the manager, and he was also very friendly, and helpful, we will definitely be visiting again with our granddaughter next year, and I am sure she will enjoy playing in the enclosed play area next to the clubhouse.
I will say the site was very quiet, as you would expect at this time of the year, but we had a very peaceful stay.

Just turned up and booked one night I thought a bit pricey at £16.80 this late in the season for a small motorhome and 2 adults but it is a 5 star site or so we had read on the website and in their advert. Beautiful site we were put opposite the brook, not a lot of room between us and the next caravan. Shop didn't even have every day essentials like bread and milk. The restaurant was not open which was a shame because we were going t eat out, so went to 'The Globe' down the road, very good. The shower block may have had a David Bellamy award but he should visit it now, very grubby, lots of black mouldy damp lifting the paint off, hairdryers with no nozzles so cannot be used, but still plugged in, (dangerous?) bits of plastic tubing on the pull light in the showers, why not just fit a longer piece of cord? very taccy, shower had a sensor to turn on but not on for very long, but there was always hot water. Washing up area needs refurbishing but plenty of hot water. Good position for visiting Bath but next time we go we will try another site.

Another 'booking issue' that was turned into our problem by the less than helpful staff/management.
Two pitches had been booked in advance for 2 largish (family sized) tents. On arrival told they had us down for 1 pitch with 2 tents! They said they thought one was a 'pup tent' even though this phrase had never been used when booking.
Given two options:-
* find somewhere else on bank holiday weekend * a 'large' pitch to share
We chose the 'large' pitch which we managed after a fashion with our awnings overlapping but so be it. No room for cars and no room to sit outside without being on top of the people opposite.
The neighbours both sides were very close, as was the case across the rest of the main camping field.
The location was the redeeming feature if you want to be near Bath.
Toilets & showers ok for cleanliness, down some steepish steps.
Site pub ok, no atmoshere but as there was nothing nearby it was good to have the facility.

Lovely location in a valley with stream running through it and abundant wildlife but as others have said overpriced at £28 /night the most I've ever paid anywhere perhaps I should book on-line next time as someone previously suggested, at least that was with ehu but no TV reception. The wife also commented on the general unfriendlyness of the site and also heard traffic noise at some unusual hours, think some people are residents and working from there. Easy to get to Bath though by using the cycle path or the bus, directions for both at reception. Used the bar/cafe once which I thought again had a rather unfriendly tone to it. Toilets good but have seen better.

We have just returned from a four day trip to Bath.
Reception for this site is in the centre of the site and is accessed by a one way road which is very pretty and runs along a stream and public footpath. The site is divided into 3 distinct sections, beyond the reception is the touring / caravan pitches, then a field area (no vehicle access / hookups) located on the other side of the stream and then then the camping pitches in front of the reception.
The camping field is 3 long rows, separated by a small access road and the exit road of the one way system. Fortunately where offered a pitch large enough to accommodate our family of 6 and very large tent, but if the site had been busier we would have struggled to pitch our tent, as pitches are small and close together and there where only 2 or 3 pitches that would have been big enough. There where drinking water taps at several points and some electric hookup.
The toilet block for the tent area is accessed by a steep stair case, the block also housed a family bathroom (which we didn't use) and the washing up area. The facilities where clean, the shower curtains where also clean and mats for each cubicle provided. Although mops where provided, the water in the bucket was filthy. But there was plenty of hot water. The washing up area, although cramped was clean and hot water always available.
Throughout our stay, the site was visited by groups of local youths, who caused havoc in the ladies bathrooms.
We did not use either the bar or restaurant, as it seemed expensive for what was on offer. There are laundry facilities at a cost of £1 for 10 minutes drying. I didn't check the cost of the 2 washing machines. The shop itself had a small stock of essentials but was horrendously overpriced, and I would recommend the 2 minute drive to the local Co-op in Twerton. Also in Twerton, is a local chip shop(eat in too), which I would highly recommend with a five star rating!
I would not recommend this site for long stay Tent visitors, as restful sleep became a premium. With the current one way system that is in place, we experienced late night traffic leaving every single night - on a couple of occasions, past midnight. As the tent pitches are very close to the exit road, it was quite alarming. There are no restrictions on traffic, nor any barriers to stop traffic from entering the site late at night.
For the children - the play area was pleasant and fully enclosed. If you have small children you will be on full alert, the access roads are close to pitches, in some cases as you open the tent door.

Just returned from visit over the bank hol to this site. POSITIVES first - Excellent location, only 10 mins easy drive to park & ride for Bristol shopping and only 5 mins drive from central Bath. Toilet block was ok - kept reasonably clean and always plenty of hot water and no waiting for showers etc.(we've been spoilt staying on Best of British sites!) Childrens play area was lovely although quite small but very clean. NEGATIVES - overpriced at £33 per night. Problems with tv boosters not working for 4 different points around our van. Everyone trying to use same ones! Pitches very very close together and we saw too many gazebos with guy ropes against awnings and tents etc which I feel represents a large fire hazard. Staff quite rude (although I do feel they have inherited a lot of problems from previous owners). Units seemed really crammed together - just thankful I was not in the tent field as their vehicles were literally right in front of tent and not really room to sit out. I have to say though that the location of this site really does help it and for that reason alone, we will definitely use again.
