We have just spent 3 nights at this campsite which is nicely located if you intend to visit Bath. The site itself is lovely, set in a valley with plenty of trees and a pretty stream running through. The staff were all friendly enough, the toilet block was clean with hot water and free hairdryer. You could have a bath at a cost of £2ish! We didn't have to queue at all, which was great.
The shop seemed well stocked with essentials. We didn't use the bar or restaurant, but the menu seemed nice enough, with a children's play area nearby.
We had booked a pitch with EHU for our large tent. We were allocated a patch of grass on a slight slope which was mainly in an area full of caravans and motor homes. We asked if we could move but were told they were fully booked, they did let us pitch a bit further over where it was flatter, this was close to a pump house. Unfortunately boys would come and kick footballs against the pump house wall, which wasn't very relaxing especially with my youngest child trying to sleep! However there were no large grassy areas for anyone to play in at this particular part of the site.
We felt very hemmed in, the road in and out of the campsite was about a metre away from our heads at night. The road was also used by anybody who had been to the bar to watch the entertainment etc, and although most people were considerate we did get woken up a few times.
We also found the site quite expensive at £33 pounds a night for 2adults and 2children, on grass pitch with EHU.
We loved the Bath area but won't be returning to this site, it was too noisy and we felt squashed in, not enough room for our 2 children aged 5 and 3 to play safely.

Nice campsite.
Just phoned up the day before to book for weekend.
Shower block large and warm. Push type showers.
Lots cut grass being walked in to the showers. I guess this couldn't be helped.
Very small pitches, you'll be very close to your neighbor. Walked to bath along cycle path and canal. Too about 45min. Pub about 20 min in to the walk. Quite expensive site but location is great.
Bath is lovely, lots to see and do.
We had 2 dogs with us. The tourists took lots of photos of them. Quite amusing.

Just returned from a two night stay with three children and one adult. The staff were very friendly and helpful, shop / reception was well stocked with most everyday essentials.
Showers and toilets accessed by keycode door and always appeared clean and water was always hot. With good sized shower cubicles which had small seats which were great when taking the younger ones for a shower.
Pitches were of a good size, level and easy for pegging, with water close by.
Overall, a great site which the kids all requested to go back to.

The location is idyllic. The staff on arrival were very friendly and helpful.
There is a restaurant on site where we had a very nice evening meal. It is a large park with a meandering stream running through, very peaceful. Plenty of space around each pitch.
Good shower facilities. Excellent value for money. This would be a great family park as there is a good playground and plenty of space around the park for play.
We only stayed for one night so we didn't have a chance to explore the area but it would be nice to stroll around the hillside and wander further downstream.

We visited this site with friends for two nights each in touring caravans. We used it as a base to go into Bath. What a fantastic site lovely surroundings and layout.
Although it seemed a big site it was so quiet. The pitches were lovely. We had hard standing with a grass area for our awning and a hard area for our car. With hook ups and ariels it was great.
All the staff were friendly and very helpful nothing was too much trouble for them. The toilets and showers and wash rooms and washing up areas were lovely spacious and clean.
They had every thing you needed. The showers were lovely and warm with plenty of water. The shower cubicles had seats and pegs to hang your clothes up.
The whole experience was fantastic. There was a pub with entertainment on. There were things to entertain you in the day. Whilst we were there there was a duck race which was great fun for all. There was a bird of prey exhibition too.
Also a playground for children.
The area was great for taking walks.

Stayed here for 3 nights over Easter. Staff were helpful and friendly, good basic shop. Didn't use the bar/restaurant but it looked busy and menu looked good.
One end of campsite was near the road the other by the train line we were in the middle though so couldn't hear either.
Good toilet/shower block our only complaint would be they could do with an early morning, mid day and late evening clean. Good location, 3 miles to bath took us about 1hr to walk in, perfect for cycling as path was an old railway line and runs from Bath to Bristol.
Would recommend this site to adults although a little expensive but not enough space for children to play/run around so not really suitable for families in our opinion.

We just spent 3 night in this campsite which is nicely located if you intend to visit Bath. The site is lovely, nice stream, play area and it s dog friendly. We had a nice size pitch for our Monty tent and plenty of room around as it was not very busy probably because it was mid week. The toilets were clean and showers were hot, but you could not change the water temperature. You need a code to enter the bathrooms.
The pub was nice too, we didn't try the food but it seemed reasonably priced.
We found it quite expensive, over 30 pounds a night for 2 adults 2 children and a dog, on grass pitch with ehu.
We could hear the traffic from the road nearby and there is a public footpath going though the site, taking you to what seem like not the nicest part of Bath!
The staff were nice and helpful apart from one lady on reception who could do with smiling more.

A group of 10 of us booked into here on the basis that it was the nearest site we could find to Bath city centre, as 8 out of 10 were going to a Regency Ball at the assembly rooms as part of the Jane Austen festival.
I went with some trepidation after reading the mixed bag of reviews on here. We booked in advance on line and paid £20 per night for tent, car and 2 adults (no EHU, I think our friends paid an extra £2 per day for EHU).
We arrived after 6 so we had to check in at the bar, but it was all very smooth. We were given a map of the site to help us find our way. We were positioned on a grassy area behind some pitches to the far end of the site, so we had a 3 minute walk to the facilities block.
The facilities block was immaculate. On the ladies side there were 7 loos, 6 showers, 4 washing cubicles and a bathroom. All were free of charge except the bath, for which a token costing £1.35 was needed for the hot water. As this was the off-season there were never any queues and always enough hot water. Within the same building there was also a separate bathroom and a wheelchair accessible toilet. The menfolk never gave me details of their side of the block so I can't comment. There is also a three sink washing up area, and plenty of water and waste spots around the site, all well lit.
The reception shop was well stocked, and there is a pay phone and play area at the 'entry' end of this long thin site too. The bar had a reasonable selection of drink and the food was value for money pub grub quickly served. We did not see any entertainment on, but that would not be our kind of interest anyway.
The site is well sheltered with trees and sits in a river valley, so we felt sheltered from the wind and rain. All the staff I had dealings with were friendly and helpful. The site was half empty and we wondered whether the more negative comments in some reviews were from visitors in the high season:certainly it is a bigger site that we would ordinarily choose and it was easy to imagine that it could be quite a different experience when fully booked with the resulting increase in the pressures on the facilities (and the staff mood too!).
It is a 15 minute drive into Bath and easy to find your way. Bath itself is famous for the Roman Baths, with the adjoining Regency Pump Rooms. There are lots of attractions in the city in terms of museums, galleries, parks, theatre, street entertainers and lots of great eating places too. My favourite place was the American museum which is about 4 miles SE of Bath; a superb collection of quilts and a main exhibition of rooms laid out to show the range and stages of the evolution of America from the beginning of colonisation. The basement has a history of America too. We visited when there were American Civil War re-enactors there doing a show, which really brought the period to life. There are lots of these kinds of events at historic sites around Bath all year round and they are great entertainment for all ages.
We would certainly use this site again, though we would avoid peak season as we don't like big sites at their busiest. It has good facilities and is ideally located for visiting Bath.

We liked:
Its proximity to Bath; the no. 5 bus stop is nearby (take the shortcut path up the hill, don't walk out on along the drive like the Warden says).
Good recycling facilities.
Contrary to the CCC handbook entry, there is a dog walk - you can get views of sunny hills above the site.
Helpful tourist information at Reception.
Toilets don't close for cleaning.
Good showers, free, powerful and hot. Bath available (cost £1.30 or so).
We didn't like:
Site sounded attractive, but for 'valley' read 'pitch always in shade even on a sunny day'. For 'mill stream' read 'lots of sore itchy insect bites'.
The blurb says the toilets are prize winning, but that was several years ago - there were too many 'do not' notices and no fresh flowers.
After 6 pm, you register at the pub where there's no access to the office computer and it takes ages. The most expensive site on our 2 week trip, due to the pub maybe?(which we didn't use), but there's a 10% discount for over 50s which we weren't told about until we asked.
For information, the keypad is only needed for the toilet block on the terrace near the entrance which was closed for the season on our visit. There's a flat tent field over the stream, also closed for the season - we felt sorry for the small tents pitched on very sloping ground beside the access road.
Would we come again? No - we might try another site instead as the negatives outweighed the positives for us. The experience depends too much on the pitch you are allocated.

Firstly once I had found the place my first criticism would be the unnecessary speed bumps on entering the site, and the large pot hole.
The site itself was clean and tidy, not Caravan Club standard, but ok. Once set up we set off for a walk into Bath. Do not be fooled by the statement saying it is 2 miles away, it is nearer to 4, the trek to the cycle path is itself a little daunting, certainly not to be undertaken in the darker evenings.
Back to the site, absolutely no tv coverage, no radio reception and no t-mobile reception. I was told by a chap next to me I could get a lead for the tv from reception, when I enquired they had none left, this being the case with 50% occupancy.
The clubhouse is like something from the 70's which matched the poor live entertainment. The Australian lady behind the bar would certainly win no awards for customer service.
On the whole not a bad site but I will certainly be in no rush to go back, in all honesty I would not go back.
