Had a fantastic 9 nights at Beech Croft Farm - nice surprise on arrival that they now have a couple of play areas, one for under 6s and the other one, a trim trail in the playing field, for slightly older children. This made our visit all the more relaxing as our youngest daughter, aged 5, could go and play without us having to constantly be with her, especially as we pitched next to it.
Beautiful site, spotless and well maintained in all areas - grass was mowed several times while we were there. Don't think we had to queue for showers at all.
Buxton and Bakewell are definitely worth a visit - found some really nice walks and playgrounds - as is Chatsworth and the Heights of Abraham in nearby Matlock Bath.
We had electric hook up and the pre-paid card worked brilliantly for us. £5 returnable deposit and I put £3 on as that was all the cash I had in my purse - we got £1. 96 back as we left! Electric kettle and light, charging 4 phones and 2 DS, amazed how little we used!
We had such a good time - the children, aged 12, 11 and 5 all agreed it was brilliant - that we will definitely go back. Already recommending it to all our friends who camp. Just be aware when it's windy!

Just got back from our first ever camping trip as a family of five - Mum and Dad, three teenage daughters and two dogs. We went with a friend, her two children and their dog and were pleasantly surprised that we managed to camp opposite each other, leaving just enough room for the barbecue between us.
The site is beautiful! Three large fields with individual water and bin facilities for each field. The toilets and shower block are spotlessly clean as is the dish washing area and laundry room. The dog exercise field was a lovely addition. Totally fenced in so the dogs can have a run.
The reception staff were very welcoming and all other staff that we came across were all extremely helpful. The breakfast sandwich van in the mornings was also a nice treat and great value for money!
We ventured out onto the Monsal Trail and had a day out walking and also went into Buxton for the day.
There were lots of families with children and we met several families who have been to the site before and we will definitely be returning.

Just got back from a lovely long weekend at Beech Croft Farm. It was my first visit there, but it won't be the last.
The site has recently spent £400,000 refurbishing the toilet block, and as you would expect they are some of the best I have seen. Despite there being not that many showers, we went over a busy weekend in August when the site was full and we never had to wait in line. Personally, I would like them to add a 'squidgy' in the showers for people to clean up after themselves - but that is nit picking.
The site itself is lovely, with three camping fields. The fields are a good size, not too big but not too cramped either. Considering the number of children on the site it is relatively peaceful, certainly more so than many family friendly sites I've been too. The goats on site are a nice touch.
The breakfast van is recommended, they did hot pork sandwiches on the Friday night but we didn't have them so I can't comment on them. The location is fantastic, lots of great cycling and walking on your doorstep plus the additional attractions the Peaks have.

Just returned from our first Family of four (12 and 14 year old teens) Camping break in our new Royal Tokyo 6 tent. Spent 3 nights at Beechcroft drawn by strong reviews and were very pleased with our choice.
Handy location for Buxton and Monsal trail.
Friendly reception staff and once we checked in and paid balance we were given directions and allowed to find a pitch to suit ourselves which we liked and drove up and down twice before plumping for the West facing pitch of our choice.
We pitched in 3rd Camping field near drinking water point. Only downside being the occasional camper dropping the lid of the metal dustbins but that's to be expected I suppose. Views were fantastic and if you don't mind the extra exercise the top of the 3rd and 2nd camping fields are the flattest areas to pitch.
Ground conditions where we pitched were ideal. Pegs went in to firm topsoil so didn't use mallet much for the skinny wire pegs supplied with our Royal tent.
Clean well maintained Shower and toilet facilities are really important to us and they were everything we wanted. We generally headed for showers around 7 to 7:30am and didn't queue once. Site can accommodate up to 50 tents but owners generally limit to 40 during school hols as tents tend to be of the larger variety.
Ablution block also houses washing up facilities of 4 sinks for dishes 1 sink for clothes plus washing machine and chest freezer for coolpacks. We liked the fact there wasn't a charge for freezing packs down unlike some sites which charge for everything!
We managed to access Monsal Trail from site via steep rocky bridle path with the aid of an os map to make sure we didn't mistakenly go on footpath with our bicycles which was a challenge both during decent and accent. Care, strong footwear and good health are essential but at least we didn't need to load bikes onto car for the excursion and teens do like a challenge!. Don't they!

Really enjoyed it here - stunning location, great facilities, friendly campers, morning breakfast van, excellent pubs close by and goats. What more could you ask for?
Electricity is done by meter which is extremely fair. Our electricity use cost a grand total of 7p for the whole weekend! At other sites we would likely have been charged £3-5 extra per night.
The site is right between Buxton and Bakewell and there's a Morrisons supermarket about 10 mins away by car.

As all the reviews for this site were very favourable, had tried a couple of times to book last minute but it was always full. Finally managed to get to stay for a couple of nights and was not disappointed at all. Lovely site, very friendly staff and lived up to all expectations (which is not always the case!). Facilities block very nice, lovely large showers with plenty of hot water, flip-down seats, more than one hook and a shelf for your shower gel, shampoo ect. Something which many sites do not think to have but is very useful. It's the little touches that make a difference! Within close proximity to many of the Peak District's gems. Even though we live less than 30 miles away, sure we will use it again if we are cycling on the Monsal Trail, which is the prettiest trail I have ever been on.

This is one of those places you feel lucky to have found, though of course we found it through UKcampsite! It's among rolling hills so the views are amazing, lovely grass pitches with a big space in the middle, beautiful toilet/shower blocks. And the staff were so nice! Great recommendations - I was reluctant to go out for dinner due to an Alton Towers fleecing, but the Church Inn pub is well worth it and has healthy options. Loving it here.

The large flat pitches on this site made life very easy when setting up our folding camper. Rock pegs are necessary for pegging out the awning but as long as you hammer them in well (which I didn't first time round) everything stayed in place despite some very strong gusty wind. The facilities block is clean and tidy thanks to the friendly and hard working wardens. Initial booking and booking in on arrival was very straight forward and friendly.
There are plenty of places to eat, drink or visit within easy reach of the site. The wardens did an excellent job of giving directions for walks and local pubs.
Definitely a site to return to.

Wonderful location, with very, very good facilities! Toilet blocks are new and showers etc. In great condition. We have stayed for a couple of nights. Surroundings are great for exploring the country side with all its beautiful gems like Bakewell and Buxton. The road near to the campsite is not so nice when you are staying in a tent. I think the road is quite a nuisance sometimes. All in all we hope to come again, also the children loved the WIFI.

This site is in a fantastic location with beautiful scenery. The site has fantastic hard standing pitches for caravans and motor homes and a larg specific tenting field. Electric hookup is available if you wish with fresh water in ample supply. The site is kept very tidy, clean and well maintained. The pitches are very spacious with fabulous views from the top section. Its a family site but never seems to be noisy. The amenity block is second to none with ample hot and cold water for washing and showers and spotless toilets. There is a small shop on site just in case you may run out of milk or bread etc. The staff are very welcoming, polite and knowledgeable about the area. The site is easily accessible and can actually be seen from the main road but there is no road noise at all. There are magnificent walks available, with small villages and hamlets to visit if that's your theme. Bakewell and Buxton are not too far away by car or you can take a more leisurely route by public transport. Great place for families or couples. If you do have small children they are allowed to feed the goats on the farm, what a delight.
