My Wife & I have been to this site & would highly recommend it, The caravan pitches are level & hard standing, (take hard pegs) with a fresh water tap & electric point at each pitch, the small shop is well stocked with the essentials, eg. bread, milk, butter, they also have a good selection of information leaflets of places to visit. They will order morning news papers I do believe.
On arrival we found our pitch, sited the caravan & put up our awning, then reported our pitch number & paid to the office/shop. The lady in the shop was very friendly & helpful (we found out later she was the owner). She told us about a local tourist attraction called the monsal trail, a disused railway line converted to a cycle/walking route 8 miles long, which we rode our push bikes along, lovely relaxing day riding through lovely scenery.
There is also wi-fi on site which you pay for.
The toilet blocks were cleaned everyday. The free showers are the best we've used, the only grumble is I am 6' 3' and the shower head is at eye level so to wash my hair I had to squat slightly, not really a problem though.
The site is very quite apart from the odd horse, sheep or tractor, but it is a working farm, so you expect some animal noise.
We would definitely stay again.
Easy to find, we followed our sat nav

New investment and a good understanding of campers and caravanners needs has pushed this site to the top of my list when visiting derbyshire.
It's new eco-credentials in the new toilet/washroom facilities work realy well (not just a bit of paper making claims about it's potential, reduced carbon footprint, etc. ) proper hot water all day everyday not just for the first half dozen in the shower like so many other sites.
Clean and tidy seem to be an understatement this sites facilities are pristine and I think most try to leave as they find comparing it to your own home is the nearest standard. (A full length mirror in the ladies would have been nice but not essential).
The camping pitches are on a slight slope but not a problem as there is so much room even when full (John and Julie don't seem to want the site over crowded and manage the site well to make it confortable for all ).
Electric hook up points in the tent area with tokens allow you to charge up your moble phone and run a laptop (wi-fi avalable on site) or for the softer campers to run fan heaters all day and night and you just pay for what you use, a great idea for modern campers. (saves me having to tow around a caravan for a few more years).
The monsal trail was a joy to discover on your door step and only a few minutes drive to numerous pubs, village's town's, walks and eating establishments, none disapointing
And setting a high standard for local amenities.
The site at this time is a little open but as newly planted trees and hedging matures this will dismiss the open field like feel of the tent area I think this site will deserve 11/10 in the coming years.

Spent the weekend at Beech Croft Farm Caravan site and we will be returning.
There is electric and water hook ups on each pitch (no drainage - take your waste hog).
Toilet / shower block is beautiful. Pot wash area looks great although we didn't use it.
There is a little shop stocked with basics. You can order newspapers for the next day. Wifi has good signal and can be purchased online while you are there - £2. 50 / day)
The site is well laid out. Pitch sizes are very good (They haven't tried to cram as many campers in as possible).
This site is in a fantastic position for walkers. Upon arrival you are given a sheet of paper listing walks / pubs / shops / take aways etc. On Friday night a mobile fish and chip shop came on site, it appeared again on Saturday / Sunday morning cooking bacon butties etc.
(I would give this site 8/10 as I have given our favourite sites a higher score and this site is not finished to the same level (i. E: no tarmacked road way through site / no edged pitches / no flower beds), but still a fantastic site. You will enjoy!

The site was easy to find. The owners were very helpful - they both work hard at their day jobs as well!
The facilities are as good as others have said.
It is great to be able to go and have a hot shower first thing in the morning. Then, after breakfast, to do a full washup in one of the four sinks.
Best day out - walk down to the cycle hire shop at the end of the Monsal Trail, cycle down to Bakewell, shopping/lunch/whatever, then cycle back up the trail and walk back up to the campsite.
But 'up' coming back is quite hard work. !

Just returned from a short visit(2 nights), and what can we say about this site???
FANTASTIC!
Warm welcome/relaxed atmosphere/clean modern facilities(the showers are to die for! I wanted to stay in there).
Beautiful area, Try The Church Inn for food. Lovely roast dinners and varied menu. Walk over the fields to get there took us 45 mins, but some could do it faster, I'm sure !
Also bus stop is right outside the site, so a trip to Bakewell was in order. Market day, and a lovely Italian meal. Trip took 15 mins each way.
Thank you Julie and John for making us so welcome. 10/10. And I hope we will be back.

Site now maturing after major improvements - and already looking nice. We parked our van in the top field - great views over rolling hillsides. All pitches have hard-standing - take your own tough pegs if you have an awning - also water and tv to each pitch - we need to get a hosepipe for direct line to our aquarolls. Plenty of manoeuvring space for big vans. Power also available to tent pitches on field above caravans.
Nice central green space to main caravan field - didn't feel overcrowded - and don't think it would even when site full.
Brand new facilities - best showers ever, friendly owners - rest of facilities have been well described in previous reviews. Essentially the quality of the big, heavily invested sites with neither the size nor the people!
Fabulous place for walking, no shortage of footpaths, and also a number of trails for cycling. Wild flowers were amazing when we visited, and the Wye valley so picturesque.
No facilities for kids on site other than a field but you don't come to an area like this if you are into candyfloss and amusement parks.
One of the best sites we have visited.

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at this site.
We had torrential rain Friday night yet at no point did the site turn into a bog. Tent's and caravans were having no problems getting on and off the site so the drainage was good.
We took advantage of the chip van that visits on Friday nights, the food was cooked to order, reasonably priced and delicious.
As other reviews have stated the tent field is on a slight slope but if you pick your spot that won't matter too much.
The facilities are superb, information on the toilet block message board states that the owners have spent £400, 000 recently improving the site and they have done an excellent job.
The site was pretty full but at no point was the toilets or showers dirty. The indoor pot washing area has plenty of hot water and was also very clean. The site is child friendly and my 7 year old met some lovely boys and girls from a neighbouring tent. If I was being ultra critical a play area for the kids would be a welcome addition but the children on the site this weekend didn't seem to miss one too much.
I would have no problem in recommending this site to anyone and we look forward to visiting it again in the near future.

A great weekend.
Located just outside Buxton within easy reach of some very nice walks. There is also a Morrisons supermarket about a 5 minute drive away.
Facilities are A+. Appear to be well cleaned and at no point looked dirty.
Has Washing facilities for clothes, tokens purchased at the reception/shop for £3, a token to use the dryer is £1, both worked very well.
Has a chip van on Friday evenings for tea and again for breakfasts on Sunday mornings. Well priced too.
All in all, a well managed site. We were in a tent and the camping field is lovely.
Plenty of room for the kids to run around and play games without annoying anyone.
The lower caravan section is too 'car parkey' for my liking although there is separate caravan field which is nice.
A basic site yet with excellent facilities and great views.

Lovely little campsite. Toilet/shower facilities are first class - very clean, warm and well maintained. Electric on all pitches via prepayment card - we bought a £1 card which lasted us for 5 days.
It's a bit in the middle of nowhere (which is actually quite nice), but there's a few pubs within 3-40 mins walk, of 5 mins drive if you're not drinking.
The owners are lovely and friendly.
Only slight downside for tents is that the tent field is on a slope, and also quite high up so it gets somewhat breezy. Also, the path to the toilet block is a little steep!
All in all, a great little site. Will most likely visit again.

Just spent the weekend at Beech Croft Farm and as much as I would like to give a bad review for the site, it would only be to dissuade people so there would always be space for us when we wanted to return.
On arrival we struggled to find reception as we entered Blackwell from the Buxton side. We parked the car on the tent field and were directed across the road to the reception and small shop.
We were shown a map of the site and told to pitch where we liked but as we were arriving fairly late and the site was fully booked, it was explained that vacant pitches would be limited.
We found a vacant pitch and quickly set up. There are drinking water taps and recycling bins at various points about the site. The camping field is on a very gentle slope but we didn't find it any problem at all. We had some rain one night, but the field had drained well and was almost dry by morning.
There has obviously been a great deal of money spent on the site over the winter. There are loads of newly planted trees around the perimeter.
The shower and toilet block are great. There are ladies and gents toilets which also have showers in them. There is also a unisex shower room with several more individual shower cubicles. They were always clean and we never had to queue. I am told by my wife that the ladies had large mirrors and several mains sockets for dryers and straighteners.
The washing up area had 4 sinks with free hot water which there was always plenty of. There was also a washer, dryer, freezer for ice packs and an iron (for a small fee).
We didn't see any play areas for children, but we don't need them.
There is a chip van on site on a Friday evening and a van selling sausage and bacon sandwiches on Sunday morning.
The site is ideally located for where we wanted to be walking, on and around the Monsal Trail. It is excellent value for money and we will no doubt return there at some stage when we need a base in that area.
