Just arrived back from a weekend break at beech croft farm site and loved it,
Great location 10 minute walk from the monsal trail,
Stunning views from the site,
Great size pitches with water, tv aerial and electric point right next to your van,
Very clean site and the shower block was lovely. They even had a brand new wood cabin for the campers to sit and socialise and plenty of farm animals around, we even watched a calf being born,
The price was average at £20. 00 per night for two adults and a dog,
Chip van came on Friday night and Sunday morning,
We never visited the pubs but apparently one would actually come and pick you up and drop you off
We had a wonderful time and would recommend this site to anyone

Stayed here end April just after the snow and it was a lovely site,
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. A very small shop with not a lot in it, but supermarket wasn't that far away,
Fantastic views, lovely clean showers, a brilliant dog field fenced off so the little dog could run around he loved it.
Some fantastic walks around monsall trail was just lovely, as was monsell head which is dog friendly too.
Good size pitches we picked where we wanted to pitch but we were also the only ones on the site because of the bad weather.
Downside hmm the weather we only had 1 day in which it didn't rain but that not the sites fault,

This was our second visit -
Cannot enthuse enough about this site! close proximity to Monsal trail, fabulous walks & easy drive into Buxton for provisions.
Site owners - so friendly and helpful.
Pitches - generous, clean and some at quite a hilly angle!
Site standard - exceptional, clean & tidy throughout.
Toilet block - wow! fantastic & warm, brilliant size showers, and so clean, plenty of wash basins, well lit too!
Noise levels - non existent!
Dog walking field - just opened on our visit and best one yet our Labradoodle loved it here.
This site has had further improvements since our previous visit and sets the standard for others to attempt to match!

We've just returned from a stay at Beech Croft Farm. We stayed for 4 nights, arriving on Easter Sunday.
You can't pre-book particular pitches so have the choice of pitches on arrival. Unfortunately there was only one pitch available on the lower site when we arrived at 2pm, so we had no choice. Whilst there wasn't anything wrong with the pitch, it wasn't really suitable for our two young boys (aged 3 and 5)- the tarmac road directly in front of the pitch sloped sharply round and downwards, so was a bit dangerous for them on their bikes and scooters. Our youngest picked up a bit too much speed within 5 minutes of arrival - luckily my husband's quick reflexes stopped him from crashing in to a motorhome!
The owners were really helpful when we enquired if we could move and showed us on their map who would be leaving the next day. They also offered to loan us a traffic cone to reserve a neighbouring pitch for my parents who were arriving the next day.
We moved to the upper field the next morning, which is much more suitable for younger children as it has a large grassed square area in front of the pitches - this was much safer for the children to play and for us to keep them in our sight.
It was a little chaotic at 12pm when it was arrival and departure time. Cars/caravans were waiting by pitches for people to leave so they could get the spot they wanted.
If there was any constructive criticism I could offer the owners, it would perhaps be to offer the option to reserve a pitch in advance. We wouldn't have had such a relaxing stay if we'd had to stay on the lower pitches.
The site itself is superb. The caravan pitches are a good size with plenty of space for a caravan, awning and car. They are all level with a loose stone surface.
The toilet/shower facilities are some of the best I've used on a site. They are modern and spotlessly clean. The unisex section was particularly useful for our family - it meant that my husband and I could take both our sons to the shower at the same time and shower in cubicles side by side. The washing up facilities were equally as impressive.
Our children were particularly delighted with the access to goats, sheep and cows on the working farm and loved seeing the new spring lambs. They delighted in the great outdoors with their bikes, balls and frisbees!
The site is perfectly placed centrally to explore the Peak District. We cycled the Monsal Trail (which is accessible from the site), visited Bakewell, Castleton, Blue John Caves, Lady Bower Reservoir and drove the Snake Pass.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this site. My parents, who are retirement age, came with us and loved the site too.
We will definitely be returning to this outstanding area and wonderful site - although we will make sure we arrive early to guarantee getting a pitch on the upper site!

We have just returned from a 4 night which become 5 night stay due to snow, snow & more snow for 11hrs!
Our first time away in our caravan and we loved every minute of it ( although very pleased we were not in a tent)
The new shower/toilet block was always very clean and warm and there was never the need to queue.
The owners were very friendly, and because of the bad weather the credit card machine had gone down and we didn't have any cash with us, this wasn't a problem and we were told to get what provisions we needed and she would ring us when we got home to pay over the phone when the card machine went back on line.
The children loved handling the new born lambs on the farm.
There are plenty of walks which start from just outside the site entrance with the Monsal Trail only a 10minute walk away.
Buxton is only 4 miles down the road and well worth a visit.
The only thing we would of liked to have seen on the site was a small playground for the children.
We can't wait to go back to Beech Croft when the sun is shining and we can sit outside enjoying a nice glass of wine!

Just got back from 5 nights here at Beechcroft. This is the third time we have stayed at this site but the first time with the next generation of the family running it. We like the location as it is very central with sooo many places and things to do.
The new shower blocks are fantastic and the superpitch status of the hardstandings are really good value for £16 a night, and that includes a digital aerial hook up. We had taken our TV but only to watch the odd Dvd in the evenings but the owner had Co-axial cable for sale in the well stocked little shop, so we bought a length and had the luxury of TV in the evenings as the temperature did drop once the sun had gone down and couldn't sit outside. We were fortunate to be here the week of exceptionally hot weather so had glorious days out, walking the immediate area around the campsite as it is so close to the Monsal Trail.
We also love Bakewell on a Monday as its market day! We also went to the Goyt Valley which is spectacular and to Chatsworth House which is as different again but equally spectacular!
We love this area of Derbyshire and will definitely be going back to Beech Croft.
Oh yes, there is also a field cordoned off so that you can let your dogs run off the lead and lots of well placed bins around for clearing up after them.
The views from this site are lovely, I will just say this though, if you want a site with perfect silence then this may not be for you, as it is just off the A6, so there is distant traffic sounds. This may bother you but it didn't bother us one little bit, it is just an observation and definitely not a criticism.

Just arrived back from a 2 night stay at Beechcroft. This is a great campsite; owners are very welcoming and helpful.
The site itself is well set out with large pitches on hardstanding ground for caravans and motorhomes/campervans and also a nice well mowed camping area.
Facilities on this site are excellent- the toilet and shower block is great, lovely hot showers, plugs for your hairdryers etc. Theres a laundry and pot washing room and a deep freeze for ice packs. At the time of our visit they were just building a shelter with benches and coffee machine for campers to use in bad weather which I thought was very kind of them to provide. Theres a small shop in reception.
The area is great for walking and cycling only being 3/4 mile from Monsal trail which runs down to Bakewell. Theres also lots more footpaths and bridleways nearby.
There are lots of places to visit and sight see within easy reach of the site including Buxton, Bakewell, Chatsworth house, etc
Theres also 4 pubs nearby - we visited the Queens Head in Taddington which also have small village shop inside. Staff were very pleasant and the landlady lent us a dvd as we forgot our tv aerial and even offered to take us back to the campsite. We also visited the Waterloo inn on the A6 which was nice and only 20 min walk from site.
We have camped in the peak district for years now and cant believe we never stayed here before now. Will be back as soon as we get some more time off work.

Just returned from a fantastic stay at Beech Croft and can only say everything about the site is great.
Supermarket few mins away in Buxton, shops in Tideswell are good too as is chip shop there cheaper than Buxton too.
Eyam is a good day out if you fancy a walk free day very interesting story.
The situation of this site is great for visiting towns like Bakewell and Matlock as well as central for walking in fact we ran out of time to do all the walks we wanted to do so going back.
Site facilities were faultless and always clean had a great dog walk
Not a single bad thing to say about this site except if you go please make sure you leave me a space :)

This was our 1st site visited as we were newbys to touring, and wanted to try out the caravan overnight.
Easy to find site, tucked away, very quite and clean site.
Shower block was outstanding and clean lovely hot water and free.
Nothing on the site except for little shop for essentials but you don't need anything on site when you got the countryside so close.
Our tv aerial would not work so we could purchase a connection from reception and this hooked upto the electric hook up unit, which was brill.
Pitches were hard standing and private, overall lovely site and would go back for a longer stay.

What a fantastic site. Just returned from a weekend at Beech Croft Farm. The facilities are excellent, the showers and toilets are immaculate. The price of £16 per night with hard standing, electric and your own water tap is just superb. This site is a great place to stay if, like us you enjoy walking. The monsal trail is brilliant with some fantastic views. The local pub in Millers Dale The Anglers Rest is also very good and so friendly. Would highly reccommend this site and we will definitely be back there soon.
