This is our second visit to this site (last visit Sept 2012) On both occasions we have had a wonderful stay at this site. Booking straightforward and staff welcoming. The facilities are excellent and well maintained. The toilet block/showers are immaculate at all times. The laundry/pot wash area is maintained to the same standard. The dog exercise area is fenced off, and more than adequate when in an area where walks are in abundance. Unlike some other sites, Beech Croft does not charge for dogs but provides good facilities for them. As we don't have children, cannot comment on play area. Although we didn't use the Campers Cabin, we can see this is an excellent facility for campers due to the use of microwave, hot drinks vending machine and covered bench seats. We had a hardstanding pitch on both visits which inc elec, water & TV. All pitches seen are a good size and have a fantastic view of the surrounding landscape. Free wifi was very useful when planning our walks in the area. The owners/wardens advice was welcomed, giving excellent information on the local area. I would definitely recommend this site to others. This site does not need to change anything. A perfect stay on both occasions.

Really liked it. Booking and checking in was easy, very warm, welcoming and friendly. All the staff I spoke to were very happy and helpful.

I can only really agree with everything that has been written so far. By far the nicest, cleanest and warmest shower / toilet block I've been too.

The only couple of things to be aware of is that I wasn't able to get a TV reception through my own aerial and the walk down to the Monal trail was a little trickier than I expected. But hey you're in the Peak district. Not a Hilton hotel.

All in all a fab place and would happily recommend it

This was our first trip in our caravan this year and have to say this was an excellent site. The facilities as many have said are first class, clean and well maintained.

The site itself is very clean with large pitches so plenty of space. Were surprised how many people were there at this time of year but I guess this shows the popularity of the site.

The staff were always very helpful. So overall very impressed so will been returning in the summer.

My husband and I have just returned from this campsite where we stayed over 2 nights with our Black Labrador.

Even though we experienced ever weather possibly. Snow, rain, fog, sleet & a tiny bit of sunshine we found the campsite brilliant. The owners were very friendly and always ready to help.

Surprisingly the site was quite busy, considering the weather, so I think this reflects how good the facilities are.

The toilets and showers were cleaned daily and were always immaculate. They also have under floor heating so are always nice and warm.

The pitches were very large so you had plenty of space and you weren’t too close to your neighbours. Each pitch has an electric hook-up, water and a TV point which came in very handy.

There is a large field where you can let your dog off for exercise which I took our dog to on Saturday morning.

We also went for a long walk along the Monsal Trail which can be accessed from the campsite. The trail is pretty flat (except the first little bit) and you can walk all the way into Bakewell if you desire where, I believe, you can catch a bus back to the campsite.

We visited the Queens Head in Taddington Village on Saturday evening. The pub run a service where they will collect you from the campsite and drop you off again for free, which was brilliant especially if you like to sample a few of the pubs real ales, as me and my husband did. It is also a dog friendly pub and the owners Golden Retriever, Zac, likes to wonder around to get some fuss from the customers. Which I thought was great being a dog lover.

Overall we had a great weekend and will definitely be returning to Beech Croft Farm. Highly recommended.

Having just spent two nights at this site I can not recommend it enough. It was lovely!

The pitches (we have a caravan) were well spaced, plenty of room for caravan, awning and car without being too close to the neighbours. It was surprisingly busy for this time of year as the facilities were excellent.

We made use of the showers which were great, the facilities were cleaned daily. Although we didn;t use the laundry room you could see it was well maintained. It was a nice touch to have a shelter for tenters with microwave!

We have two dogs, there was a good walking area where we could let them off their lead.

Whilst visiting we took the walk from the campsite to Bakewell along the Monsal Trail. It was a good walk, quite level and we caught a bus back from Bakewell to the campsite which stopped just outside the entrance.

We visited the Queens Arms in Taddington and the Church Inn in Chelmorton, both excellent pubs, dog friendly, real ale served.

All in all a great weekend away. Will definitely visit again!

This is an excellent site. We pitched on the middle on three tiers as you enter the park, it's all hard standing and tarmac roadways. Each pitch has it's own Power, water and TV aerial point, Grey water disposal was about 10m away and the Black water disposal was down by the toilet block (approx 30m). The views are stunning across the dales from pretty much every pitch, you just turn up and find yor own pitch then book in a reception (Pre-booked pitches only). Everyone was really friendly and helpful no matter what you wanted, from purpose made treasure trail maps from the site to being towed onto the site by tractor because you try dragging a caravan up the hill in the snow (Not us, point to note- use the Buxton side road to come down into the site rather than the Bakewell side on the A6 which is up hill!). A nice point was that during low season you could leave you van on site for £2 per night (unoccupied) if you wanted to come back or in our case didn't want to drag it back in 3inch of snow.

Facilities were good for us, small shop with the essentials (This was being extended during our visit), they are a calor outlet if you need gas, the toilets were immaculate ALL the time, underfloor heating, Gents, Ladies and Unisex. The showers were spot one, loads of water and the right temperature. As it is a David Bellamy site All waste gets recycled you just need to sort glass and metal from General waste, the rest is then sent for recycling.

The surrounding area has loads of walks to go on no matter your fitness level and their is a Morrisons 10 minutes down the road in Buxton. As the site is located dead center between Buxton and Bakewell you can take you pick where you shop. There is a bus stop on the A6 just at the end of the road to the site (5 min walk) Buses are every hour or so.

Overall an excellent site that I would recommend to anyone, we will definitely be back

Arrived on the 30th november went to top of site the pitches are very big, loads of space, but we needed to be near the facilities so we pitched up on 17& 18. Good sized pitches with water, the toilet and shower block were about 20yds away and they are superb. No one bothered us and we didn't go to reception until the following day. The young lady was very helpful and charming. The site is also safe for the children we had ours with us and didn't worry about them playing outside. We shall be back.

We spent a most enjoyable 4 night stay at this lovely site. The hard standing pitches are huge, especially on the top level, all include electric and water. An unusual site in that you choose your pitch first before checking in at reception.

The heated facilities are spotlessly clean with large showers of the push button variety. The site is easy to find, just off the A6, within easy reach of Chatsworth, Bakewell and Buxton. Well worth a visit.

Just returned from a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Beech Croft Farm. Having read the previous reviews we were really looking forward to visiting and we weren't disappointed. The reception was well signed and the young lady was very friendly and helpful. The site only had 3 spare pitches as it is very popular (we had booked in advance) and I was told to just select whichever one I wanted. I picked a quiet, secluded location which was perfect. Electric hookup is modern (and lit) and there are 2 taps on the back of your hookup. There is a warden who stays on site and he was very friendly and equally helpful. The toilet block was very modern and spotlessly clean (the warden did a fine job) and the showers lovely and hot with big spacious cubicles (with handy seat).

All in all I can't fault the site, the facilities or the staff. It was peaceful at night and handy for Buxton (there is a large Morrison's supermarket just off the A6 before you enter Buxton). I would not hesitate to revisit and a lot of other sites could learn a thing or two from Beech Croft Farm. An absolute gem.

We stayed here for 3 nights as our last trip of 2012 and enjoyed our stay.

The weather was bad during our whole stay and we pithed at the sites highest point (to make the most of the view) however this meant the wind was very strong and made the area very muddy.

However our parents stayed on the hard standing (caravan) area which was very well protected from the wind however had no view.

Their was some road noise on certain days which I guess depends which way the wind was blowing.

The toilet block was very good and clean and the whole site well maintained.

The local area is stunning.

I would definitely visit the site again.
