september/october 2003 We stayed on this site on 2 occasions with 5 children and we found it to be a lovely site and the lady who owns the site was very friendly and helpful and came up to the pitch to hook us up to the electric with a torch when we arrived late and it was dark. We never had a problem with the collie farm dog which someone else has mentioned on a review. It is an extremely clean site and on both occasions we had no problems pitching our awning due to sloping, it seemed level enough for us on the bottom caravan pitches. The site is run by the lady owner on her own and she does a brilliant job of maintaining the site etc. We love the site and so do the children , it is in beautiful surrounding countryside and in just the right place for many good places to visit in the Peak District. We never heard any planes whilst there and you could only hear a faint sound of the trains in the distance and that was only when the campsite was totally silent at night. We will be going to this site again and would recommend it to anyone for a nice break. Brilliant site*****

Sep and Oct 2003 I found this site great. No problems with awning, level on the lower pitches. Shop fine and cheap. Will be going again.

Sept 2003 we stopped for four nights in the tent field, no lights at night, but plenty of lamps in the caravan area. Generally good with hot showers -30p tokens and plenty of free hot water.
They accept dogs but be wary of the farm collie. There is a nice pub down the road at Taddington Village, the Queens Arms with some nice meals and friendly staff.
The site is under the flight path to Manchester Airport and some noise from the local quarry a few miles away.
The site seemed very popular with all visitors and we would visit it again.

july 2003 Nothing special campsite facilities very limited, but very busy. Probably only 3 level spots all reserved for caravans without awnings, anyone with an awning had to stuggle putting it up as the grass pitches next to hard standings were about 1 ft above the level pitch

JULY 2003 Nice camp site limited facilites, nice flat hardstandings but not to good if you require an awning as there are probably only about 4 pitches on the whole campsite.

May 2002 We would recommend this campsite to anyone who enjoys walking in the peak district. It has good views and is pretty. The tents area is possibly a bit exposed to wind and the toilet block is limited.
We found the owners very friendly and the site quiet and peacefull. The caravan area may be a mite cramped on a bank holiday.
On balance we would certainly go again but not on a bank holiday.
Geoff
