Conwy Touring park is set in stunning scenery and is quite spread out but that is not any problem. I have stayed at the site before some years ago and have to say since then very little has changed. We were allocated to a pitch on green which stated on the map was near to the new toilet block, having visited the site ten years ago the block was not new then and certainly has not been updated in the last decade so it is definitely not new.
Merlins bar was clearly built and furnished in the 1970's and has not been decorated since, the staff are friendly enough and the prices reasonable but requires desperately updating.
There is no on site shop or opportunity to buy food which is not only disappointing but clearly a huge revenue loss for the site which could be used to invest in the site to bring it into the 21st century.
Our pitch was close to some seasonal pitches which was occupied by some very noisy parties, singing until past 02. 00 hours which is no fun if you have young children who wish to get up early.
The facilities for the children is quite good, with both inside and outside play areas.
Overall our stay was acceptable, the site seems to be run on a shoestring budget and has great potential if the investment were to be made although there appears to be a reluctance on the side of the management to go along this route.
Conwy and the surrounding area is beautiful and a lovely place to visit, I will be visiting again but not staying at this park again unless the management decide to invest in modernisation.

Excellent camping site in an excellent location very friendly staff who are very helpful. Toilet facilities are very clean. The site is very steep in some parts so you will need a car to get to the local club site depending where you are pitched and also to the local town centre. The tent pitches are very large and can accommodate some very large tents with awnings or gazebos. Overall a very nice campsite

We were a bit apprehensive as there were some bad reviews for this site, but we were pleasantly surprised. The area was beautiful and the campsite was divided into nice sections, none of which were far from a toilet block. The toilet blocks were fine, clean enough although the lights where the insects collect could do with a clean. The short bursts of water from the showers is a bit frustrating, but I can understand why it is done, as there are lots of kids running in and out playing and there would be a waste of water if they were not on a timer.
The site is within easy reach of Conwy and the rest of North Wales is only a car journey away.
Couple of criticisms - a shop with a few camping items and groceries would be wonderful, first night you always find you have forgotten something, we forgot a lighter for gas stove. Also a noise curfew would be helpful as some voices are carrying and bushes do not deaden the noise.
Would we go to Conwy touring park again? Most definitely and this time the weather won't throw any surprises. Our tent was not fully waterproof, not for the deluges we had, but a wonderful lady told us about Fabsil (which we bought at Blacks in Llandudno - £19) and we luckily had a fine afternoon when with the aid of a washing up sponge and a pole from the windcheater we covered the entire tent. That night when the rain fell we had no drips it was wonderful.

We stayed for a weekend at this site, after reading some of the negative reviews we were concerned.
The site was good, the grounds were clean and well kept and very well laid out.
The toilets/shower were basic but clean and well laid out.
This site is massive but you do not get that impression by the way it is set out.
We camped at the top and the club is at the bottom of the site. It is quite a walk but it is not a problem as there are plenty of pathways leading down. The club is good with plenty for kids of all ages. Play area for younger ones and games room for teens. The drinks are reasonable. We had our guide dog pup with us and the staff were very accommodating.
We walked down to Conway and had a nice day there. I would recommend getting the number 19 bus back.
We had a nice time at the site and will go back.

Just returned from a 6 night stay at Conwy Touring Park and we loved it. We took my parents along with us this time as he has just purchased his first van and this was his maiden voyage.
They weren't disappointed. Aft a great journey we arrived in Conwy, please be aware that if you are coming from the A55 then there is a tricky squeeze through the town wall then a pretty steep hill on the road to the site. Once you get to the site be prepared to drop it down a gear or two as the approach to reception is pretty steep but more than manageable even with nearly 2 tonne behind!
Very slick checking in procedure at reception and we wee away. We were sited in the blue area of the park at the end of a small row which was sectioned off just before my fathers van so we had just 4 pitches in a square. Lovely kids. Ou
D play freely and the dogs on their stakes could be positioned far enough away whilst we set up.
The nearest toilets to our pitch were the White section toilets and were always clean and smelling fresh when I visited. This building also housed the showers which after reading a lot of reviews I was concerned would be cold but to my debit were constantly hot and free!
If I do have once suggestion for the site it would be around waste disposal. We were quite close to one of the skips which are located around the park. There seems to be a problem with either the frequency the skips are refreshed or the amount of skips on site as they all seemed to be overflowing by the time they were changed. Also they are not the prettiest of things so some screening from view could be a good idea. Having said that we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back.
It offers a great base to explore a beautiful part of North Wales and the facilities on site all seem to work.
We have two dogs and there was plenty of areas to exercise them with some breathtaking views over the valley and estuary below.
Would definitely recommend for families

I visited this site in July with my wife and 2 children, after reading the negative reviews and positive ones I give it a go thank god I wasn't put off by the negative reviews.
This site is excellent for camping and touring after arriving on site to a very clean well looked after reception area with hanging baskets and well thought out lay out I was dealt with a smile and greeted with good manners.
Once booked in I was shown on a map to where I was to be pitched and given all the paper work. Upon getting on pitch to which is very well sign posted I was surprised at the size off the pitch and the views I had.
This site is well thought out for your privacy on your pitch plenty off room for my caravan awning and car
After a stroll round the site I was amazed to the views from all aspects of the site the walks for dogs if you had one are great
We took a picnic one day and a kite and sat on one off the many hills looking over the welsh valleys with the kids and found this amazing as to be able to do this on a caravan park.
The toilets are many and spread on site with plenty of hot water and clean was always seeing some one cleaning and picking litter up on our walks.
There is a pub on site its a cosy country pub which as a open fire ( not on when we there to warm ) large patio area outside and kids play area x 2 outside and inside, yet again well thought out
There is a play area inside for 3 age groups that is well staffed with different age areas so children can play and be safe with their own age group and staff watching them all the time
But what I noticed was there was an area where you can sit and drink and watch your kids but without disturbing them which my kids thought was great as they escaped from mum and dad. Also the kids can only leave the play area inside from one door and that is where you sit, that was great as we could sit relax and enjoy a drink knowing kids were safe if they try to leave we would spot them.
Overall this site is excellent value for money being one off the best priced pitches per night we have stayed on ( about £24 per night in peak times ) with amazing views wildlife and facilities of very good standard.
And seeing kids play outside in the woods and trees brings back memories of my child hood when children were children outside.
Please don't always be put off by negative reviews as if we had we would not of found this gem of a site. Will be back many times again

This is the 4th year we have been to this site with the family, we try and go at least 4 - 6 times a year here. Never had a problem here, the site is so laid back but there is always somebody available if you have a problem.
My parents are elderly and have some mobility problems however, we are always put not too far away from the toilet blocks (if you ask it is never too much trouble for the park to put you where you want).
I, for one, am extremely fussy with public toilets and have never had any problems with these, whenever we go they are always clean, except for when there have been a lot of people taking showers and the floor is wet.
The kids love it and we love it and it is a lot more affordable then most sites. Paying per pitch not per person is so much better. I recommend this site to all my friends, absolutely love it and always will.

This was our first visit to this site, and we were a little disappointed.
Firstly, you need to be aware that on entering Conwy, you have to pass under the castle arch, which is very narrow - but unless you have a wide unit you will get through (the buses manage it). Then you negotiate a narrow windy road with parked vehicle on one side. Can be tricky if you meet something coming the opposite way. Entrance to the site is up a fairly steep hill with a 180 degree turn. I managed to break my jockey wheel on the approach!
We were lucky with our pitch as there was only one other caravan (there were only 3 pitches where we were located). Some of the other parks of the site had large numbers of pitches. Each area is secluded from the others by natural foliage, but there are only limited places on the site with views.
The toilets were not the most modern and not always in the cleanest state. Some of the toilet blocks seem a long way from the pitches. In the time we stayed, all my morning showers were cold.
I had difficulty locating the waste water disposal point, which, when I found it was partially blocked.
Rubbish is disposed of into huge commercial waste skips. Surprisingly, there are no recycling facilities on site.
The site itself is in a lovely area, but it is in need of smartening up.
There is a 20mph limit on the site but some people didn't abide by that.
We didn't visit the pub or children's play area (this was too far away).
We'd definitely come back to the area again as it really is beautiful, but I'm afraid not to this site.
Incidentally, if you encounter the same problem as me and find you need a jockey wheel, head from Conwy into Llandudno Junction. Keep following the raod through town past the railway station until you see the Renault Garage. Just before the garage is a trailer place.

We visited the site for the forth time in three years, this specifically for the Jubilee weekend. We had booked for three nights.
On arrival we were allocated pitch Red D 63, this was situated in a newly developed area of an already vast site, it held about a further 100 units to pitch in. All these pitches are small and on top of the service roads, with little or no room for children to play safely. For the new area there was a temporary toilet block built into a container base.
Only 3 toilets for men which were filthy and no showers in this area. We found 2 male and 2 female showers in walking distance, great if you wanted to wait 30 mins. We then drove within the site to a further block with more showers to find these running cold and again filthy. I tried to address these issues with staff at the time but was fobbed off and ignored. Emails sent since leaving a day early have yet to be answered.
Conwy touring park has expanded its income but not it's facilities. The weekend was ruined and we will never be going back. Not usually one to moan, but compelled by this disgraceful service.

I must say having read the previous reviews I was a little apprehensive, yes the approach is pretty steep, but just drop a gear, toe down and you'll sail up it,
As for the site and facilities, they were not the most modern we've been to, but I've been to much, much worse and paid more for the privilege,
This is a large site with work in progress, each section is coloured coded, making it really easy to find your way around, we were on purple, which is the highest point in the park, very happy with this pitch,
We love Wales and Conwy, we will be going back, sooner rather then later, and we'll be returning to Conwy touring park,
If your looking for 5 star luxury at 1 star price then you won't get it here, it's a well run good value site,
Conwy itself is a short drive away and parking is only £2. 00 for the whole day, which you'll need to explore this lovely old town, the castle is a must as is the old mansion house dated c 1580.
Just a foot note, for those of you who can't go away without your TV, the reception is very good,
