Stayed at this site plenty of times now, pitches are of a good size, excellent shower/toilet facilities (Free), washing up facilities, 2 playgrounds for the kids, new laundry, on-site bar, shop was closed for refurbishment although their is a corner shop & chippy not far from the site. All visitors have to book in at reception to get through bollard onto the site. Will definitely be going back again this year.

Just got back from a great weekend, the camp site is in a great location to the town. We found the camp well kept the showerblocks/toilets are cleaned at least three times a day. We stayed in the red area which is at the begining of the site but is a little way from the clubhouse but well worth a visit. Only thing that we found disappointing is that dogs seem to be allowed to roam around without their owners which led us finding dog waste. But apart from that we really like the site and hope to go back in the near future. There is no shop on site but only a short car ride and you will find a 24hr superstore. Also the local bus stops outside camp to take you into Conwy center(90p adults 45p kids single)

Just got back from 4 nights at Conwy. Nice site, but would not go again.
The Site covers both sides of a steep hill. The entrance is on one side of the hill and the main facilities at the bottom of the other side of the hill. The road that snakes its way up and over hill between entrance and main facilities is very steep in places and is about a mile in length.
The pitches are all on a series of level terraces that seem to have been cut out of both the hill and the forest that must have occupied the hill before the campsite. Each terrace has an access track down the middle and around 10x pre-allocated numbered pitches on each side of the track with no room (other than vacant pitches) for kids to play. Because each terrace is surrounded by woodland there is not much of a view from within the pitches other than trees.
Each group of terraces is serviced by a WC block housing M&F toilets/showers along with dishwashing facilities, drinking water tap, chemical toilet point & Freezer. Problems: - Our block seemed rundown and in desperate need of TLC. The male face wash basins had no plugs in the sinks and the toilet hand wash basins had no soap or soap dispenser. The Freezer did not work and smelt a bit. The drinking water tap is sited right next to the chemical toilet point.
Main Facilities. There is an outdoor adventure park, a field for playing ball games, a kiddies play area, A Bar & an indoor “play Barn” play area. The indoor play area is only open between 8pm and 11pm when the Bar is open (even during peak weekends). As the main facilities are based at the bottom of the hill and because the of the linear layout of the site, the Family camping pitches are a quarter mile walk away from the kids play area with a quarter mile uphill walk back. The standard pitches (other side of the hill) are faced with either a drive or a half day hike to get to and from the main facilities.

This is a great site for tents as each camping area is protected by the trees. The toilet blocks were clean and there were two showers in our block, the problem you have is that there isn't anywhere to put your stuff. There is a hook on the back of the door but its not enough really, especially if you have small children to get ready too. Just a couple of chairs would make getting changed a lot easier. At the far end of the site is a great pub with a playgound outside and if the weather is not too good there is also an indoor area for the kids where they can run around or watch a movie on the big screen TV. Its open on Fridays and Saturdays. A short drive to Conwy castle is well worth the visit.

This was our second visit to this site, this time we spent a week here rather than a weekend. We stayed in the blue section which had electric hook-up and had a fantastic holiday. Our shower block was spotless with cleaners coming twice a day. There was also a drying room there too which we thought was a useful touch, to dry towels and wet coats etc (although the weather was brilliant when we stayed). Security regularly patrolled the site throughout the day and night which gave peace of mind, although the barrier code at reception meant it was secure as well. The bar was well stocked (and cheap!) although it could do with a bit of a face-lift inside. Last time we visited the site there was a small shop, so we don't know what's happened to that. However, it was only a short drive to the centre of Conwy and there's a 24 hour Tesco not far either. A very popular site. Great value for money for the facilities, wiildlife and the stunning scenery. We will definitely be returning next year, making this a firm favourite site!

Just returned from this site a very large site like everyone says in previous reviews which is nice of an evening to have a walk around the site down to the bar area (when its not raining of course ). I feel the site needs to invest some money and create a small shop for your basic requirements as the nearest shop is a good five minute drive away and can be awkward if your desperate for something and is not in walking distance. The toilet blocks for our block which was the red section was appaling to be honest although I did see cleaners every night all they seem to do is mop the floors a lot of cobwebs were visible which did put you off a little all in all a great site for kids and families but due to the location I don't think we will be returning .

This site was situated a few miles from Conwy and basically jumps out at you so after passing Conwy persevere you will find it. The views as you drive through this huge site are beautiful, would not recommend walking through the site as it really is huge and very steep in sections, there is no on site shop, there is a bar but we did not go. The showers/toilets facilities were very good with large shower cubicles, partitioned basins with electric shaver sockets and plenty of mirrors to make sure you are looking your best. I would recommend reading the rules for positioning your tent as we neglected to do this so cant really comment on size of pitches but would imagine with a full area it could get quite cramped. This site has everything you would expect, is very good for exploring the north wales coast, I would recommend a trip to Rowen and the Dutch Pancake house. Highly recommend this site, will be going back soon I imagine.

We stayed at this site for the 2nd Bank Holiday weekend in May. The site is surrounded by beautiful scenery and is close to both Conwy and Llandudno. I think this site has a lot going for it, but seriously needs some TLC in certain areas, for example: - The grass was very long - not sure if it was due to all the rain they had been having or lack of care. - The roadway around our particular area had several large potholes - these became full of muddy rainwater, which you had to avoid in the middle of the night.this was difficult because the site was pitch dark. - The toilet blocks hadn't got any soap/ hand dryers/ paper towels for your hands. The new toilet block in the blue area hadn't been finished off properly at the time of our visit. If we knew all these things were going to improve, because of the area it is in, we would return for another visit.

What can I say we have been going to this site for 3 years now and we are never disappointed. The facilities (toilets and showers) are always spotlessly clean and the site immaculate. We find the children's play area (in the pub) invaluable for our 6 year old boy. To be able to sit and have a beer in peace was wonderful! Our only gripe (and it is a small one) is the lack of a decent campsite shop and it would benefit greatly from a restaurant as it is a long walk into town. However none of this detracts from the beauty of the location, the views over the river are stunning, and the area around it wonderful. I would heartily recommend it to anyone.

We stayed here for just one night and were very impressed with the campsite, which is beautifully landscaped, with accessible woods and signposted walks leading you to amazing views over the estuary and beyond, and the organisation of the place. I liked the fact that pitches were clearly marked and plenty big enough- most people had "monster tents" and there was heaps of space between. Great family site, loads for the kids to do. On the downside, however, it was fairly busy when we went (being half term) and rubbish disposal provision was woefully inadequate- two large skips per area, absolutely full to overflowing, meaning you had to either balance your rubbish on top of the mountain or put it on the ground next to the skips. Also, whilst there were plenty of shower cubicles and bags of free hot water, the showers and loos look like they've been due a face-lift for 30 years and were frankly none too clean, but everyone else has said how clean they were so maybe it was just an off day. We'd certainly come again as there's so much to see and do in the area, but it might not be first choice.
