Stayed here the week after the children had gone back to school, so the site was very quiet. The site is quite nice, with plenty of showers and toilets etc. No-one on reception told us anything about the site, we only found out after chatting to other regular campers.
The club was shut, so we had to nip down to the town centre for a drink. There was no shop, another trip to the town centre. If this wasn't bad enough, the smell on the site was disgusting. Every now and again a smell of putrid fish would waft over. No-one seemed to know where the smell was coming from, but it was suspected that it was coming from the skips which were used for rubbish. They were full to the brim.
There is some nice scenery, but we could only see a tiny bit from our tent on 'blue'.
The weather was dreadful and rained every single day, so that didn't help. The regular campers said they had never known it smell so bad and was a lovely site.

I've been going to Conwy Touring Park since it was called Bwlch Mawr and was still a working farm!
The site is not one, large camping field. It comprises of lots of smaller areas holding about a dozen units, each surrounded by mature trees. You can visit here several times a year (we do) and you never think you're visiting the same place as each area has different views.
The toilet blocks are spotlessly clean, there are drying rooms for wet kit, and at the end of the shower blocks are rows of big sinks for campers to wash up. For people without electric fridges or cool boxes, there are freezers dotted about around the site so you can freeze your blue ice blocks for your cool bag.
Site facilities include an indoor adventure play area for the kids, an outdoor adventure area too, dog walking paths through woodland, a launderette and a pub/restaurant called the Swallow's Nest.
Entrance to the site is through a security barrier (you get a code for the key pad when you sign in) and there are security officers present on site throughout the day and evening.
You can use this as a base for visiting Snowdonia, and you only need to cross the bridge out of Conwy to get to Llandudno- just a short drive, or you can walk/cycle along the new coastal footpath, a traffic free route.
The town of Conwy has a 13th century castle, excellent quality shops, a SPAR supermarket, and good places to eat.

Just had a long weekend at Conwy touring park, it was a base really as we were visiting the Llandudno Extravaganza Transport Festival.
The park was ok but not up to the standards we are used to having stayed at 2 Caravan club Sites already this year.
We were in the Purple area so I believe we had the best showers, these were ok and clean but there were only 2 showers and these were limited on space. There is a bench to put your clothes etc but nowhere to put shampoo etc whilst showering other than the floor. (There is no soap at all in the toilets either.)
We did have plenty of space on our pitch and as the park is divided into lots of areas it was nice and quiet. Fresh water very close by although nowhere really to empty waste water, we emptied in a grid by the toilets, another guest told us they were instructed to empty under a hedge - not really a good idea surely.
Took us a long time to get through on the telephone, left a message but received no reply, once we did get through held on the phone whilst the receptionist completed 2 check ins on site, yes we would hear that they were doing card transactions.
We didn't use any of the other facilities so cannot really comment.

We had a fabulous time at this site, don't be put off by the entrance. It was a massive site, plenty of space although I don't think I would like to be there at busy times
Staff were very helpful, it was reasonably priced, very good facilities and plenty of them which is unusual. Showers were hot but as said in other reviews you have to keep pressing the button every 10 seconds or so, which isn't really a problem.
Would definitely go again.

Visited this site over the Easter period for a week and stayed on the red pitches. The site is lovely with a good layout for kids as most pitches are in little cul de sacs. Loads of lovely walks and great for dogs.
Booking in system good and staff very ameniable especially for visiting family. Two excellent play areas one for toddlers and one for older children with area's surrounding the play area's for football games. Site is in a good situation to see all of North Wales.
Only downside are the shower facilities. The shower has no divide to stop all your gear getting wet which also makes it a nightmare when you are trying to shower a 2 year old who is turning blue with the cold. However we checked every toilet block on the site and discovered that Purple has this divide with a bench where you can put your gear and a dressed 2 year old on whilst you finish getting dressed yourself.
The site also has a pub and indoor play area for children but the opening times are inconsistent and irregular so never got the chance to use it. I would visit the site again but would request to be on the purple pitches for the showers.

We have visited Conwy Touring Park on several occasions and have had a great time there, the end of season firework display is a must, and have been to this for the last 3 years.
The pub is a walk down hill which is great in the evening when the kids can take their torches, the pub itself is a lovely little pub with a play room for the kids, and a tv dvd room, which the kids loved.
The pitches fitted my vango diablo 900 and 2 cars with no problem, so are of a good size.
The toilets are ok, what you would expect nothing special.
Having already know Conwy quite well as an area, I know there are several nice places to visit, including the butterfly house in conwy, also llandudno, and the beaches there are only 10 minutes away
The only gripe I had is that last time I went we were pitched opposite a large party who were blatantly ignorant to families with children and stayed up shouting and swearing and playing music until the early hours, and no one patrolled the area to make sure this kind of thing was not happening.
Definitely wont let this spoil it though and would visit again.

This was our first visit to this site, our friends had recommended it so we thought we would give it a try, yes it was late in the year but it was the sites 'End of Season Firework Display'
We found the site absolutely great, toilets spotless all the time, showers great but as has been said before - nowhere to hang clothes so everything gets wet! We pitched in the Blue section, nice and flat but stoney just under the soil, so will take rockpegs next time. The site is very hilly, its a trek to get to the pub/restaurant and back so didn't bother.
All in all a great experience for us so will definitely be going back this year and its only 50 minutes away. Also I highly recommend the fireworks they were FANTASTIC! Went on for ages and really loud echoing through the hills,a great show.

My wife and I have visited Conwy Touring Park on several occasions now and enjoyed the site very much. Its only an hour from home but seems a million miles away, the area is generally very peaceful and so to the site.
We visited on the end of August Bank Holiday and considering the children were off school and a bank holiday the site was well controlled.
We always feel very secure on this site, it has a great reception and barrier control to the site with your own unique pass code.
The site, well more of a mountain side, is huge I can believe the number above saying it holds 400 pitches and these are spread about on probably 20 separate fields, each field then having its own toilet / shower block, dish wash facilities, rubbish collection etc, so basically plenty of room to move.
The tent pitches are numbered in their zones and reasonably well kept, generally pretty level but can be rather stony or rooty just under the soil level, can be a pain when you're just just trying to put the last peg in and you hit 'rock', grrrr
The site has a bar, restaurant and children's play room, we didn't use them on this break but did so last year.
The area has a lot of great places, not just Conway for the castle and Marina but also; Llandudno, Betws-y-Coed, Porthmadog
We love this site as a quick get-away weekender, but could easily be a base for a week long stay.
Would love it more if the tent pitches zones were split into say, Family, Adult only and mixed, as the kids running around your tent with footballs does become a little testing after a while, but maybe that's more a parental issue.

Having read the reviews prior to booking, couldn't wait to arrive at this site, however, when we arrived we were slightly disappointed. The Reception area was like visiting a security airport booth, with toughened glass and wire perimeter fencing and a security code activated barriers that never seemed to work correctly. This site also advertises gas refills under it's site facilities, however, it is located at Llandudno junction, which is six miles away. We were allocated to the 'Red' section, the pitches were as previous reviews, very large and well maintained. The shower blocks however, left a lot to be desired. We found them exceptionally basic, not even having hand soap, and on more than one occasion not particularly clean. The shower facilities were far from practical, there was one hook for everything and no drop down seat or screen / space to separate wet area from dry, everything that went into the shower area came out wet. Not even guttering on the shower blocks, if it rains you need to run the gauntlet to get in, without getting soaked. Bar and play area were OK, but it was an exceptionally long adventure to find it and get there, and you wouldn't want to walk back from it on a dark night, as there was no lighting. It would be an idea to take your own bin, as the camp doesn't appear to have any, just a skip which isn't on the map. Bins at the washing up point would ensure that some individuals didn't leave the remnants of their meals for the next person in the sink. North Wales area is fantastic area to visit, the site is ideally located for Conwy, but not somewhere I would recommend if you have been to other campsites with facilities close to home comforts, as this is like going back 20 years.

The site is located in a very undulating area, however the vast majority of pitches do seem to be level. Reception and check in was very smooth. It is a large site spanning a big area and the spacious pitches are split into sections. Each section has a toilet block nearby. The toilet blocks I would describe as adequate. They would appear to be cleaned daily and have plenty of hot water but they are in need of modernising. Depending on whereabouts on the site you are located it can be a fair trek to the bar and children's play area, 10-15 min walk. The indoor soft play area only appeared to be open from 7pm at the same times as the bar. There is no shop on site and the bar doesn't serve food. Grey waste disposal is not clearly marked and the Elsan disposal area was a little unpleasant. There are plenty of water points but each one is not individually drained and runs off over the ground. There is a static caravan park being developed at the back of this site and I wonder whether it is owned by the same company as I get the feeling not much has been spent on the site recently.
