We have just spent 3 days and 2 nights at this site and thoroughly enjoyed it. We arrived a couple of hours earlier than the official arrival time due to light traffic and had no problem accessing our pitch. The site is really big but doesn't feel like that because there are lots of little fields separated by bushes and trees giving you a really cosy exclusive feel. The shower blocks are really clean at all times of the day and we didn't have to cue. The bar wasn't open on the evenings we were there but it was a nice stroll away for the evenings that it is open. There is loads to do in Conwy. The castle and a boat trip around the harbour are highly recommended. Lunch at Amelie's in Conwy was very reasonable and the food and service were both really good. Turn left out of the site and just a short drive up the road is the Groes Inn, a really lovely old world inn with fantastic food. All in all a really great site in a beautiful area which we would visit again.

I've used this site a few times in the past, and I've had some pretty unkind things to say about it, but this time all was fine, probably because the weather was good! The biggest drawback is that they insist you use a numbered pitch. Apart from the fact that they are rather close together, it can become extremely muddy with everyone using the same spot. That said, the facilities are excellent, plenty of toilets, hand basins, showers, washing up sinks, drying rooms - all free of meters etc. There is a security barrier to enter and leave the site; you punch in a code which always used to be something like 98765432# but the whole world and his brother must have got to know that, so it is now random numbers. All this cost me only £4 a night, and what's more I had a free night, too. I booked in on a Sunday for 2 nights, and then decided to stay a third night, but Reception was closed. A sign said it was closed Monday to Thursday, and the phone number they gave just bleeped a few times and then stopped. My entry code still worked, in spite of my booking form stating that it expired at 11 am on the day of departure. Consequently, the site remained quiet during my stay, with no new arrivals.

We stayed for a week at this campsite over Bank Holiday and half term. For such a large site there is a distinct lack of facilities, only 3 toilets and 2 showers per toilet block, showers are free hot water but I would rather pay and have a decent hot shower after a hard day walking rather than the lukewarm showers on offer. Dish washing sinks were minus plugs and if it rained the dirty water emptied from the sinks overflowed all over your shoes(not very nice!) The children's playground was minimal and the bar area needs some TLC. During our stay the laundrette was closed for technical problems. For such a large site they would really benefit from some sort of shop on site although the supermarket is not far away it would be a nice touch. One of the nice features of this site is the dog walking field and its lovely views. It would be very unlikely that we will stay at this site again. Although it is handy for Conwy, we would rather travel a little further to find a more cared for site.

Having just come back from conwy , I can only say how disappointed I feel. I have been visiting this site for 13 years on and off and have loved it. It is set in a fantastic location, handy for both beach and mountain. It has some fantastic views, but I have come to the conclusion that it is stuck in a time warp. The toilet facilities haven't been updated at all and the HOT water which I have always loved is barely warm whatever time you go.
We had 9 children in our party and the older ones were stuck for things to do, the so called older kids bit was closed and has been for a while? The pub only opens at night and there is no longer a shop or anything on site.
You can now only book for a minimum of 4 nights, and even with a bank holiday thats pushing it. Sadly we won't be returning though we found it wonderfully safe when our children were younger
This site could be a gold mine if only the owner had the foresite to see it.

Call us sad,but we have been going to this site for the last 6 years, sometimes twice a year. Yes some of the showers are a bit dated, but they are very clean, and they are free with really hot water. I think we have been on most of the colours, but prefer the purple or yellow. They are a bit quieter than the other colours because they are not too near bar. We take our grandchildren and they love the freedom, and we feel safe because we know site is secure. There is plenty of washing up sinks with hot water and a laundry which we have never used, so really cannot comment on. The main reason is the fact that you are so central to North Wales and its attractions, you can go most places in less than an hour, and in six years we still havent seen everything, and some things are just that good its worth going twice.

A very nice site for children, especially when they use your unit as goalposts. Never saw any security on site and when we had a day out, we returned to find we had had visitors in our tent. They must have been the human kind as they unzipped the door! We were placed on blue site, and the toilets and showers are not the cleanest. No plugs in washbasins and no locks on toilet doors. I think the site would benefit from more refuse points and water points! The site is ideally placed for visiting the North Wales area and a hop across the ferry to visit Dublin!

As a family we have stayed at conwy over severall years the camp in the last few seasons has gone down in my opinion the shower block is in need of a makeover, the bar is ok they do have a kiddy area and that is the reason why we still go. If you do decide to visit i recommend you stay in the green area.

Just returned from our first 2 night camping trip and I cannot praise the Conwy Touring Park enough. I was able to book a pitch big enough for my Sunncamp Olympic xp, with an EHU, at very short notice Horrendous traffic conditions on the A55 meant we arrived about an hour after check in time, but the staff waited for our arrival anyway. The huge park is set out in smaller colour coded areas and finding our pitch was easy even in the dark. The site was immaculately clean. Each area has their own shower / toilet / washing facilities which, while basic, were better than I expected for only £8.50 ish per night. All the pitches I saw were flat, sheltered and well cared for. We had no problems with basic pegs. We felt that the security barriers with personal numeric code was a good touch and gave us a certain peace of mind. The park proves an excellent centre for exploring north wales. Myself and 3 son's, aged between 12 and 16, managed to fill 2 days between Conwy and Llandudno and could have easily spent another couple of days taking in the sights of those 2 towns alone. The boy's only complaint was that they wanted more time to explore the huge campsite. We're definitely going back to the Conwy Touring Park .next time I might even take my wife, daughter and pooch ;o) .

First visit to Wales, enjoyed it, friendly helpful staff at reception and at on site pub and shop. Toilet blocks and water points close to pitches, also washing area for pots etc. Pub in 3 sections , bar for adults and kids, younger play area with ball pool, climbing frame etc. and tv showing DVD’s, separate pool room for older teens, all supervised by friendly staff, we were short walk about 10 min as we were on pitch with out hook up but this was no prob, may be a bit hard if you have trouble with hills as the site is built onto the hillside. Safe and secure with barrier entry system and night time patrols of security staff. Will suit hikers and a nice base to tour North Wales, Llandudno 5 mile, Conwy 1 mile, Bangor and Canarthon: 30 min drive. When sun shines a very nice place to be.

This site looks a little tired. A lot of investment looks to have been put into a keypad vehicle entry system linked into your booking but didn't notice any wardens the two nights I was there. The facilities are OK - multiple toilet blocks close to camping areas are clean and functional but basic for a big site like this. The bar and playground (not that I'm an adventure playground afficionado you understand) look like they need some cash spent. It's a huge site and as a non-EHU tent, don't be surprised to be a long walk from the bar, shop and takeaway. The site is divided by hedges and trees - surprisingly midge-free in August. The pitches are marked, allocated on registration and close together. No time to let the grass grow and some pitches were quagmires. But it was OK. I suppose. Nice location near Conwy and up the road from Betws-y-coed. I'd probably go again if other places were booked but it wouldn't be my first choice.
