Great bank holiday weekend spent at Thorntons Holt.
Site was well appointed, and the staff were friendly and helpful in the shop/ office/ cafe.
The pub restaurant around the corner is a five minute walk and offers a good selection of food, with a good carvery.
There is also some lovely walks across the road, if you take the steps up to the bridge. The road is very fast, so bear that in mind.
Showers were huge, and well thought out. Including two seats, one of which in a "dry" area. Big enough for parent and child, but I believe there were family facilities (which we didn't use).
We stayed on pitch 11, and the power did trip on us. Apparently this can happen, but was sorted relatively quickly by the on site staff.

What a lovely relaxed place this was.
All units spaced safely without any silly 'club' jobsworths.
It was reasonably priced.
A large group of families from a local club had been allowed to park near each other. They were also offered a sizable area to play their organised games, with no policing other than checking with us we were OK with it. We were, I'm not too sure the latest owners will be allowing such a happy gathering though.
A shame as we used to love it here.

Excellent facilities including cycle and walking boot wash.
Very clean, hot showers with plenty of room, hooks and shelves. Good spacing between pitches.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff with lovely cafe and on site shop.
Nice walk on disused railway embankment adjacent to site going towards Radcliffe-On-Trent or Cotgrave Country Park.
This place is a real gem - so close to Nottingham but so quiet with dark starry skies.

One dark, wet and windy night in winter but the pitch, located close to the facilities were warm, immaculate and inviting.
Daylight the next morning revealed a pleasant site sectioned to allow a feeling of compactness along with a great looking playground.
As it was holiday time we didn’t actually see any staff but we were well catered for by their welcome pack with codes and a map of the site. Also included was a bag for recycling.
We didn’t see half of what was on offer but we will return when next requiring a place to stay in the area.

Tent erected and required a shower. What facilities they were one of the best we have been on. Clean and spacious reception very helpful with a small shop and cafe.
Secured gate at night with numbered pad for entry during the day.
Electric hookup and drinking water close by.
Chickens wandering about but no hassle.
Dog friendly too.
Launderette, fridge and a freezer available. Going again.

Nice large site, new washrooms very smart.
Little cafe & and shop on site.
Pool is a bit dated but an added bonus, booking was required.
Stonehouse pizza across the road ideal for late night arrivals!

If the site itself and the friendly staff from us first walking into the site to checking in wasn't good enough, the city of Nottigham topped it off. A trip to Notts County game, followed by a day at the horse races, then the castle and caves.
The site was immaculate, showers and toilets spotless and very up to date.
A communal fridge and freezer was great help! The staff were really friendly and helpful.
Even with an easter weekend it was spaced out between pitches.
We will 100% be going again.

Handy site for visiting Motorhome dealership as Motorhome had to have a new data cable installed & I live in North Yorkshire.
Very nice, clean site surprised it had a swimming pool. Lovely cafe & shop & clean facilities.
Very handy for stopping off midway on way down south,
Bit of road noise but apart from that a nice site.

This site is first rate. Excellent showers and loos, plenty of space on the pitch. Really nice staff as well.
Coffee bar on site and a small shop with a good range.
Dark skies with no unnecessary site lighting.
Short walk to the bus into Nottingham - and to the carvery / pizza gastro pub.
Nearby country park provides good walking and cycling.
