Love this site
Great ground for pitching up
We have been coming for 4 years and never tire of it
Great walks locally
Supermarkets locally
It's clean
It's functional
It's cost effective
The pub across the road is so cheap for a carvery
Or a short drive and there's a Table Table Restaurant
We look forward to next year and hopefully the new washrooms and cafe
We use this as a main break or a stop off in between the Lakedistrict (before and after) as we have family in Nottingham

Really poor campsite with terrible dirty and tired shower facilities, a brewers fair is located within 5 mins walk which was nice. However the actual campsite leaves a lot to be desired and is in desperate need of some expenditure. A sob story board for all to see may help to soften the blow for some.
Customer service was also terrible

This was our first visit to this site. I boked it as it was local to where we live - approx 30 mins drive and had an indoor pool. I had looked at a long range forecast and it said rain. However it was the hottest week of the year.
The toilet block was functional, the showers were extremely hot, too hot for my kids really. There is a new block in the process of being built.
The washing up facilities wer good and clean however in here there was no hot water!
The pool was £2 per session (not per day) My 12 and 13 year old had to have me present whilst in the pool ridiculous as they are both far better swimmers than I am. Also book early for the pool as spaces are limited. (Not sure why it can't be a free for all as other sites which seem to sort themselves out.
Having said all this we will definitely return!

We loved this site. Not too expensive. I liked the showers as they were not push button ones! I am not that fussy about new shower blocks. I am only in the shower block for 10 minutes a day and as long as they are clean and the water is hot (both boxes ticked) then that is enough for me. We loved the animals: horses, cats, dogs, rabbits in the fields and especially the lovely variety of hens. I found it quite amusing when I emerged from the caravan toilet to find a hen in the caravan! The Shepherds Pub is very close and the food was fine there and the Haveli Indian restaurant up the road was a unique experience (and a good one!)

Had another long weekend here to attend a function nearby Radcliffe. Got the last pitch in the orchard, although it best part emptied the next day. Wasn't room to try out our new awning, which was annoying.
As others have stated, the facilities are going downhill rapidly. They are well dated, and are only cleaned in the week - not at weekend. (Been like this for years). A new amenity block has been started, but it is likely to be a slow build - they are having to do it themselves, thanks to NatWest's lack of support for small businesses!
Site is very conveniently situated. Bus to Nottingham from just down the road; family food pub within short walk; country park opposite; Cotgrave village shops a five minute drive away; A46 for Leicester / Newark / lincoln just down the road. Far enough away from the A52 to not be bothered by noise.
Site pleasant enough, and accepting the financial difficulties, there ARE things that could be done - like cleaning the loos at weekends, sorting out the the 'Out of order' cubicles, making sure that there is hot water in all taps, and that the hand and hair dryers are in working order.
Not the most expensive site, but perhaps over-priced for the state of the facilities.

Lovely site, despite the weather! Close to Nottingham, a great location for visitng Nottingham and surrounding area. Shower block a bit dated, but very clean and plenty of hot water. I believe a new shower block is being built. Reception staff very helpful and the wandering chickens and guinea fowl were entertaining. Good electrics, which we needed for heating as the weather was cold. There is a covered swimming pool, which is only open in the summer, and a good children's play area - may well take grandchildren for a weekend in the summer. Great pub, The Shepherds, within walking distance, with value for money carvery.

Stayed at TH for a week whilst visiting family in the locality. An attractive landscaped site which is well laid out and managed. There were free ranging hens and horses grazing in the field next to our pitch and this added to our experience. A warm welcome was given to us on our arrival and the staff remained very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, although it has to be said that the site was very quiet with just a handful of other customers. Whilst taking my dogs for a walk around the site one day I got talking to the owner who was really nice and informative. He showed me the plans for the new washroom block (which look great) and pointed out the newly erected steel frame which was the start of the construction project. He explained that due to the recession, his bank had pulled the plug on financing the project some time back so he was carrying on a little at a time with what he had available, but hoped that the work could be completed reasonably quickly. This is much needed as the existing facilities are very outdated but on the plus side there is a good standard of cleanliness. Having found this site we now plan to return and look forward to seeing it when the sun is shining.

We picked this site based on proximity to Nottingham for visiting family and on the reviews it had received. It sounded absolutely right for us. We received a polite welcome but were allocated a waterlogged pitch even though the site was very quiet - being beginners at caravanning we did not think to view and select a better pitch. We were given no advice regarding the setting up of our van and awning and were consequently told we had to re-pitch our awning. After taking the awning down we asked to move to a better pitch - which was arranged with little fuss, but we could not face putting up the awning again. The weather was against us too! The amenities block is very dated although it is cleaned. After a run in with a particularly large spider my children were very reluctant to use the facilities unaccompanied! A new block is under construction, I enquired when it would be completed the lady replied that 'it might be this coming year - or maybe next - there was no hurry!' There is a pub just over the road and the food is quite adequate. Nearest supermarket is 10 minutes by car. As a family we would not be keen on returning to this site due to the very dated and basic facilities.

Met up with friends for a weekend get together. Staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. Not quite sure if they were running a family campsite or a military operation. Not flexible and not friendly at all.
The toilet facilities had a lot of 'Out of Order' posters on them, the disabled shower, hair dryers etc. They were very old and dirty. No evidence of maintenance or up keep.
The site itself was lovely, it was so nice to see chickens and rabbits just wandering around. It was close to a number of pubs and a walk along the Grantham a Canal.
We took our dogs as they were a dog friendly site, but in all honesty they were not dog friendly.
There was a pizza van on site that was open Friday & Saturday night. Very nice pizza.
Overall I struggled with the rudeness of the staff and how unhelpful they were.
I will not be staying here again and will not be recommending it to any of my friends and family.

This is a great site for children, very safe and welcoming. Great for them to bike, scooter around and the playground is brilliant. The swimming pool is a great addition and a lovely way to spend an hour or so. Very peaceful campsite, we walked to Cotgrave by the canal and through Cotgrave county park. Busy stretch of road to get to the canal but lovely when you get there.
The only downside is the showers and toilets, kept clean but need updating. They are building a brand new block though ready for next year so this will make the site even better!
We arrived late, in the dark, due to unforeseen circumstances and we were very pleased with how we were dealt with. Very friendly people and great atmosphere. We will definitely return to this campsite.
