This is an excellent well run site with amazing views. Very good shower block and disabled facilities. Separate room with microwaves, tv and wash up facilities, fridge and freezer which is an added bonus. The ground is very hard so be prepared with heavy duty pegs and hammer. It can be very windy which can be a problem if you pitch at the front for the best view but there are more sheltered options and it is a lovely place to be and only a mile off the A64. Plenty to do in the immediate area and good walking from the site.

We arrived on site around 5pm on a Friday evening. We were part of a group of 13 friends plus 15 children. We were welcomed in reception with a friendly face and given all the relevant information. We were shown were the various facilities were and I and were we were to pitch our tents.
The facilities were very good plenty for the size of the site. They were clean and tidy and the showers were refreshing and hot just what you need on cool September morning.
We found the shop was stocked with all the necessities.
The playground was put to good use by all the children of thee various ages and they enjoyed all the space they had to play rugby and football and a bit of chase. Even the adults(men) enjoyed the space to run about and play sport with the children.
We will definitely be returning to this site next year.
We also took advantage of the use of the dog kennels which cost us £5 for the full day the dogs were supplied with water and were checked on regularly a very good plus point if you are heading off to a less dog friendly place for the day.

This was a short break of just 2 nights but we were made extremely welcome. Unfortunately, as should be expected of a Wold Top location it was blowing an absolute gale! The very hard ground made it difficult to pitch and yes you will need some tough pegs and 2 hammers (we broke our first one).
The day room contains a fridge freezer both free to use but the freezer is stuffed with far too many ice packs considering how many pitches were occupied. Microwave also available for use and a TV to entice the children to wash up - great idea! The toilet and shower facilities are ready for upgrading but were very clean, liked the idea of an easy access room and a bathroom is a great addition to the facilities. The animals are a great distraction for all! The lamb must be paid to escape and be 'herded' back into the field by apprentice shepherds / campers. The shop was good and supplied lots of goodies and ice creams. Views - out of this world. A warm welcome from Derek. For us the weather spoilt it - high winds forecast put us off staying another night and as I write this it is blowing a hoolie outside at sea level so heaven knows what it is like up there! Ooh and another point for plane enthusiasts - the jet fighters fly over so low you can wave at the pilots. Overall a lovely site, good location. Beware the Lavender Tea Rooms - stroppy staff and high prices for poor food - what a shame - glad we drove there and didn't risk the 1.5m walk! We will be back once we have got a good forecast!

This site is brilliant, very helpful and friendly owners. The pitch sizes are generous and not regimental, but make sure you take a good supply of rock pegs as the ground is very rocky. The site shop is fully stocked with everything from bread to beer and bbq meat which is all locally produced and is lovely. The views from this site are breathtaking. The animal corner is fantastic for children as they are encouraged to feed the various animals at 6pm every evening. The kids play area is basic but safe and well maintained.
The showers, toilets and washing up area is kept spotless and the family rooms have baths
Which is good for the kids. On this site there is a room which has 2 microwaves, coffee machine, television and a fridge freezer which you can put your ice packs in, all these facilities are free.
The location of this site is about a 20 minute drive to the coast to which you can explore Scarborough, Bridlington, Filey and Whitby. All this towns have excellent amenities, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants etc.

Fantastic site with wonderful owners! Stayed for a week in the middle of the field which can get very windy! putting the pegs into the ground can be hard work as it seems to be rock under 2 inches of soil.
Had a group of four tents turn up one of the days, very noisy bunch The facilities are excellent, plenty of hot showers, plenty of toilets, a family bathroom with corner bath, a family room with large shower and an easy access shower room. There is a washing machine and dryer that are both coin operated at the back of the facility building. The shop sells all the basics that you would need and they even stock cheap kids drinks and sweets, not out to make a huge profit which is a great thing. The road up to the site is about a mile long, tarmac then gravel which is rather bumpy to say the least but don't let that put you off, it is well worth it when you get to the site. Most GPS systems will try and take you up a dirt path, but there is a sign for the site at the bottom of the approach road. Will definitely be visiting again.

Facilities were excellent(toilets and showers the best we have come across). The owners are very friendly and helpful. Lovely views of surrounding area, the site is ideal for local attractions(Eden Camp 20 mins away, Flamingoland 30 mins away) similar times to reach coast. Shop on site well stocked and reasonable prices.
With site being on top of hill it can be a little breezy, but it is worth putting up with just for the corner bath in the shower block.

For my very first caravan holiday what a place to go to I took my wife and 2 kids 1 is 14 and the other is 6 I never saw my 6 year old whenever we were at the camp site he was always with the animals or the play area. Toilets were always clean no matter what time you went too them the only thing I can pull it down for was sometimes the area was a bit over crowded.
I will definitely be going back

Stayed for 3 nights at Wolds Way (2 adults and a large greyhound). Had awning and hook up.
First impression was that the site packed - but the site coped very well with this. The toilet and shower facilities were very clean although one female toilet was out of action. We were placed with the touring caravans and were fairly close to the facilities which included a well stocked shop and laundry facilities; a room which housed two sinks for washing up - a fridge and freezer, tv, and 3 microwaves; I believe there was also a drinks machine in here. All were spotless.
Friendly owners and site assistant who could not do enough for you. Ground a little hard as previous reviews have mentioned. Views from the site were out of this world.
The campsite was very peaceful during the night. Will definitely return shortly - enjoyed every minute. Perfect for the children with the farm animal contact. Ideal dog walking areas. Well done Wolds Way.

I have to say that this must be one of the most relaxed campsites I have had the pleasure to stay on.We stayed for a week and have to say did not want to leave. The facilities in my opinion are second to none - hot showers, baths for the kids, very clean and tidy toilets and wash areas. Washing up was a pleasure being inside, a proper home from home.
The staff are friendly and only to happy to help, the shop maybe small but it is well stocked.
The kids loved feeding the animals, I don't think I have ever hand fed a bull, but this one loves the digestive biscuits.
The field is brilliant, the views are spectacular. Ok so the ground is a little hard due to the chalk, better than trying to pitch you tent on soggy ground.
We shall certainly return here, what with four seaside towns within easy reach and some great pubs / restaurants locally ( the Ganton Inn is well worth a stop). All in all we have had a brilliant time, and look forward to our visit

This is a great site on top of a hill, with fantastic views into the distance. The facilities are excellent, with plenty of toilets, free showers and family rooms - very clean. There is also a shop on site selling a lot of things you may need. Children have a playground (keeping our 2 entertained) and they are also encouraged to help feed the lambs twice a day.
Only niggles were the hard ground which bent our tent pegs, and a noisy cow which made a lot of strange noises throughout the night, keeping us awake :-(
Apart from this, great site which we would fully recommend.
