Just returned today from this spectacular site after staying for a week. The owners Derek & Carol were most helpful and run the best campsite I've been to. Huge big pitches which accommodated our two aztec canterra 12 tents well with 2 cars and trailer. No one encroached on one another. The facilities are fantastic and kept wonderfully clean, everything that you could possibly need has been thought of. Disabled facilities are good for the bathrooms and there is even a bath. The men in our party moaned that they couldn't use the bath but then if men got into it the bath would not be in the nice clean state it is currently in! There is a washing machine available to use and is not extortionate. The price per night includes all your facilities and is very reasonably priced. It makes such a nice change and you know what you are paying for. This site is well hidden from the main A64 which is great but you are within short travelling distances for Scarborough and surrounding areas. Plenty to do and see. There are also some lovely walks along the Yorkshire Wolds. We liked it so much we are returning for a fortnight later in the season. Congratulations to the owners who have thought about their site well for the benefit of us campers, you have a little goldmine and gem of a site.

What a lovely site run by very nice people. Lots of wildlife and farm animals set on a hillside with beautiful views. Clean toilet and shower block, good washing up facilities with a laundry room, fridge/freezer and communal television. Only a short drive to Filey and Scarborough. Great playground for the kids, visible from any pitch on the field. Really nice site that we will definitely return to.

We found this site to be the best site we have visited to date. Realy good value, toilets very clean. Play area kept our 10yr old quiet and busy making lots of new friends, much to her delight she got her certificate for feeding the lambs and she visited the 6wk old foal. Carol and Derek were great, lots of time for the kids. Derek always doing his rounds of the site making sure all was well. We were pleasantly surprised how much room there was for each pitch, and over all the site was not too busy even though they were fully booked this makes a nice change as most site's cram as many people in over the weekends as possible.
We came home and booked straight away to return for a week in August. Can't wait. The site is high up and so we were glad the wind dropped. This is not a rowdy site and all was quiet by 11ish. Hope it stays this way. Well done Derek and Carol don't change anything.

We visited this site in April and the site owner was lovely, he felt like a friend chatting away with us. He seems to be looking at improvements constantly, not that this site needs any. The touch I liked was the fact that there was a bath. If you have small children a shower isn't always a good option, but it is covered here. We will be visiting this site again.

Just back from a long weekend at this site. Special thanks to owners Derek and Carol, two of the nicest persons you could ever wish to meet - nothing is too much trouble. A long gravel track leads to the site at the top of a hill, so it's well away from the main road (A64) and therefore no problems with road noise.
There are many permanent caravan pitches, plus touring and tent pitches, all with electric hook-up should you need it. Plenty of space for the kids to play and many walks straight off the site onto the Wolds Way and the surrounding countryside.
Excellent toilet and free shower facilities (spotless) and a small shop with all the essentials: milk, butter, cheese, bacon etc. Thoroughly recommended.

This has to be one of the best sites in the Country, from the moment we arrived nothing was to much trouble for the owners Derek and Carol. We pitched a Royal Sassari 6 plus a Gazebo and still had room for 2 cars. The pitches are excellent. The shop is very well stocked with a good selection ( even beer/wines) and also sells penny sweets which kept are 5yr old very busy. Facilities are so good you will, in my mind struggle to beat them anywhere. The lambs are a must for young kids who get the chance to feed them and then get a certificate before they go home. I truly cannot find one bad thing to say about this site, everything you need is there. We found an ideal pub in Rillington called the Coach and Horses which did food and allowed us to take the dog in, also the local butchers ( F.Turner) sells some of the best meat in Yorkshire. We have booked to go again in August and I cant wait for it to come round

This site is wonderful, the facilities excellent and bathrooms spotlessly clean. It is set in beautiful surroundings and the owners are very friendly. We have spent 3 nights there this last weekend and even though it was rather windy and cold myself and my children really enjoyed it. My dog was also very happy as it is a very dog friendly site. There's plenty of places to walk and plenty of doggie waste disposal bins. The campsite was quite full as it was bank holiday but although there are only 3 toilets and showers in the ladies there were no queues when I used them. The only downsides perhaps were that camping is in an open field and when it is windy there is no natural windbreaks. Perhaps breaking up the field into smaller hedged areas would help. Also the children's playground wasn't very sparkling and could have done with a couple of swings and some unbreakable goalposts (as I think some children must have taken them apart before we got there!) There were also lots of older children on the playground and my 2 children were not keen to go and play without me there. All in all I would recommend this campsite to anyone looking for somewhere in North Yorkshire, it is very convenient for the whole area and you get a warm welcome and superb scenery.

what a site, we could not have asked for a better weekend. Derek and Carol were so pleasant, the facilities were crisp and clean. We had read a few reviews saying the playground was meant for older children! Not true my two girls aged 2 & 4 just loved it and it was great for us because we knew they were safe. Whilst on site we were privileged enough to witness the birth of a calf, which the children named Flover. They were also able to bottle feed the two lambs. All in all a fab weekend and a big thanks to Derek and Carol, we will be going back soon.

We had a wonderful stay last summer with our three boys. Derek and Carol made us feel really welcome, nothing was too much trouble for them, they made you feel as if they had plenty of time to chat. I lost my wedding ring in the grass on the day we arrived and we were extremely worried. Derek got his metal detector to help us search for it, we would never have found it otherwise.
The whole site was well kept, the facilities were always clean and there was even a bath! Our boys loved the 10p choc-ices in the shop, it was safe enough that they could go to the shop on their own. We put our tent in a wonderful spot with a fantastic view, we can safely say we have never camped in such an amazing place. We are hoping to go back this year.
We only had one problem and that was the loss of rather a lot of tent pegs due to the type of ground. We camped one week after many parts of Yorkshire were severely flooded, so losing tent pegs seemed a small price to pay to camp on ground that would never get boggy or waterlogged. We have stocked up on stronger pegs for this year! Thanks again to Derek and Carol for a brilliant site.

What a fabulous site! We've just had out first visit there, and we will definitely be returning. The site is beautiful, and very well maintained. The toilets and showers are immaculate and there's even a bath! The only teeny weeny niggle, which is hardly worth a mention, is that the shower blocks are a bit of a trek from the bottom of the site. There are some lovely walks through the woods and on the Wolds Way, and the views are out of this world. The owners, Carol and Derek, couldn't be more hospitable, and will go out of their way to help you in any way they can. Definately worth a visit.
