Just got back from a fantastic short stay on this site. Despite the really bad weather in Leeds we braved the journey on Friday afternoon and got lucky. We originally phoned to cancel, however we were advised the weather was fine.
Arrived at the site about 430 with a warm dry welcome, even managed to order papers for the next two days which the owners collect for you. Was given an initial show around the sites facilities and was very impressed. Wash room was indoors in a nice warm room with three microwaves, hot drinks machine (£0.50p), Fridge & freezer and a TV. Although there is only two sinks, we never had to wait and was sufficient for the site. The toilet & shower facilities were excellent, very clean and well maintained. For anyone with a small family there are three family bathrooms with baths and showers in each. No stupid push button showers, these are just like home and plenty of pressure and very hot.
The site is located at the top of hill off the A64 to start with a nice smooth newly laid road, until you get half way and then its a rubble road for the rest of the way. The scenery at the top is fantastic, you are surrounded by corn fields, but the views are second to none, don’t forget your camera. There are also picnic benches around the site next to the farm animals, including horses, cows, bulls, sheep, hens and a cockerel and not forgetting the many rabbits.
On the whole this is a fantastic site and great value for money, has a nice atmosphere and secure feeling about the place. Ideally located to visit the different places at the coast, it’s only 15 mins to get to Scarborough.
We were very satisfied customers and will be definitely be returning with family and friends.

What a fantastic site! Just spent 6 nights here and had a wonderful time. The first 4 nights we had the whole tent fiend to ourselves, over the weekend it was full but still plenty of space for everyone! The site is situated just off the A64 although there is no traffic noise due to the fact that it is situated at the top of a hill reached by a long driveway. The views are spectacular - across the Vale of Pickering but it can be a bit blustery due to the location. I would recommend rock pegs as the ground is very hard and stony but the pitches are on the whole nice and flat with good grass and plenty of taps and electric points.
The facilities are without doubt the best I have ever come across on a campsite - three loos, six washbasins, three showers in the ladies as well as two large unisex family rooms one with a corner bath and loo and the other with a shower, bath & loo. Showers/baths are free. There is also a unisex easy access shower. The washing up facilities are superb - a huge room with 2 sinks, loads of hot water, use of 3 microwaves, a coffee machine (50p), free use of large fridge freezer and even a TV! All the facilities were spotlessly clean - liquid soap, paper towels all provided and replaced frequently. Behind the shower block is a small laundry with washing machines and tumble driers with a nominal charge for the use of these.
On site there was a small playground for the children and an area in the middle of the tent field for ball games etc. The shop had a good range of essential food items plus extras such as airbeds and tent pegs! We were given a warm welcome by the owners and staff - very helpful and friendly. There were lambs to feed, cattle who loved digestive biscuits! (take plenty with you - the children adore the animals!).
The surrounding area is beautiful - we visited Scarborough one evening (a short drive away0 and looked around the nearby towns of Malton and Pickering. Flamingoland provided a very popular day trip and was only 15 mins away while an interesting visit was made to Eden Camp. There are no pubs within easy walking distance but the local village has a couple of good pubs selling good food.
All in all we had a fantastic time and would recommend the site and the area to anyone.

Having just spent a week at this site we must say it is one of the best we have been to. The facilities are excellent, and always seemed to be clean.
It was lovely to see all the animals including the lambs (which I helped feed on one night) and the piglets. The views from the campsite and the road leading up are incredible.
Shop was well stocked (though opening times were a bit sporadic), especially recommend trying the sausages and burgers on the BBQ.
The only criticism we had for the site was the road leading to it, but looking at the piles of tar, and the first section they look to be improving it.
The owners are very friendly and extremely helpful.
We will be heading back!

Just returned from a four day break at this site. What fantastic hosts, Derek and Carol will go out of there way to make sure you have a great stay, nothing is too much trouble.
Toilet and washing facilities are up there with the best in the uk, very clean.
The shop sells all the basics needed, plus beautiful home made cakes. Other nice touches are the use of microwaves, toasters, and a drinks machine which does great hot chocolate for the kids.
The site itself is very family orientated, with breath taking views of the countryside. An ideal base for Flamingo land,Whitby, Scarborough.
Go to this site if you want a quiet family break set in tranquil surroundings, I will definitely be returning.

Just back from a weekend stay as a family with a 15month old and had a lovely stay.
The campsite facilities are great, toilet block, showers etc very clean and never any problems regarding queuing. Only down side for us was no changing facilities for my daughter, we had to plonk her on the units next to the sinks.
Pot wash area great, which is indoors and also has microwaves, fridge & freezer along with tv if needed. Also a great coffee machine.
The farm is great as we got to feed the lambs and the cows and my daughter loved it. They had also just got some little chicks.
The play park is pretty basic with a little fort and slide, bridge and rope bridges. Not really for younger children.
The shop stocked a wide range of items, although we had most of the things needed, so didn't need to buy anything,
The ground is very difficult to get in your tent pegs so I would invest in some heavy duty ones, as we bent several of ours. Luckily I had enough.
The surrounding area is great and plenty to do all within a short travelling distance.

This was the first time we've been camping and I can't praise the site enough. The showers/toilets etc were immaculate at all times. The staff were lovely and welcoming as is the whole atmosphere.
My 5 yr old son enjoyed the park and feeding the lambs and we felt the site was v child friendly and safe.
Can't wait to go back.

A pleasant site on the top of a hill accessed via an unmade road off the A64 (but you wouldn't know it).
Site can get windy although we had largely good weather.
Views are lovely from the cow's field but this is away from the camping area. Hedges have been grown around the site restricting any views. Could really have been anywhere. The site is largely level.
Lots of caravans set for the summer season. Folk with lawnmowers and pretty garden lights! I've seen it all now.
We booked well in advance, just because we arrived at 4.30pm on a Friday we were allocated 1.5 plots for two tents and a day tent. Felt very awkward with our neighbours (Guy ropes etc) (Sorry!). Anyone with bigger tents than us (which seems to be a lot of people) may have struggled.
The playground is OK and is part of the tent field but not a great deal else for kids to do. The owners hadn't left enough space to kick a ball about without it hitting someone's tent.
Where this site really scores is the toilet block. It really is very good and coped well at busy times and they are regularly cleaned. We did have a problem one night where all water stopped working completely. Got a bit messy until cleared up in morning.
The shop is pretty basic and stocks essentials (apart from ground coffee which we had forgotten to pack (essential for us anyway)).
The farm image painted by some is a bit far fetched with a couple of cows and a few sheep in a neighbouring field but the kids liked them.
The owners are very polite and attentive.

Just back from a glorious weekend at Wolds. This is our second year camping with a young family and our 5th Site we have visited. It is without question a fantastic site with excellent facilities. The showers and toilets were spotless and faultless. The shop was well stocked and reasonable. The lamb feeding and cattle was a top hit with my little girls. The views are superb. They have a couple of excellent walks to facilitate dog lovers and the kids. They provide microwaves, toaster, coffee machine and a TV. Would definitely recommend. We did Scarbrough for the afternoon very pleasant.

Had a lovely 2 night stay at Wolds Way campsite though when we arrived on Friday night it took us a long time to setup because the ground is so hard (please be aware and take heavy duty pegs) we damaged 18 of our pegs. The site is very high and we had a lot of wind on Friday night but the views are amazing!
Other than that everything else was great, shower block is as everyone else says (fantastic) and the owners very friendly and helpful. Small shop in the reception area
Nice pub called Coach and Horses down in Rillington does meals (can't walk to any pubs),
Nice walks from the site as well, small children's play area overall very nice with a lovely atmosphere

What a fantastic site! Very friendly owners, showed us to our pitch, offered help in setting up and showed us round all the facilities. These were brilliant, 2 bathrooms, plenty of showers, constant hot water, always kept clean. Also the washing up/tv room was a great help with free use of fridge freezer, microwave and toaster etc.
There was loads of room for kids to play even though the site was full. Kids had great fun feeding the lambs and seeing the animals. As a first taste of camping, I must say it has been very hard to follow! We have just returned from our second camping trip elsewhere, and the site did not match the high standards set by Wolds Way!
Will return for sure.
