We visited this fantastic site in june for a friday to sunday break with our kids and their cousins, aunties and uncles and I can honestly say this is one of my favourite sites so far!
I am relatively new to camping (this is only my second year camping and this was my first time taking the kids) but of the sites I have seen so far this is by far the best one.
I will start with the all important toilets/showers, in a word, brilliant. Very clean and spacious with a family bathroom, excellent for cleaning the kids with loads of room outside the bath too + a toilet.
There are various family showers all with their own toilet and on top of that are a male and female toilet blocks with lots of toilet stalls as well as individual showers so never any queues and the water was very hot and powerful too all in a purpose built building.
Next the kitchen/family room, again spotless. Had a fridge, kettle, microwave, toaster and tv for the campers to use with 2 sinks for washing up all indoors which was nice (nothing worse than standing in the rain waiting to wash up in an outdoor sink!).
There was a nice little shop on site to which is where you book in when you arrive, reasonably priced too.
Now the site itself, really well looked after with lots of open space to play and a nice little wood built climbing frame for the kids too, views were stunning too in all directions and not a bit of noise too, you come off the main road and travel about a mile up through the fields on a tarmac path so there was no worries of the kids wandering into the road too.
We had electric hook ups for all 3 of our tents.
The people who run the site are so friendly and helpful too when we arrived the warden came up to meet us and took us to our pitch and asked if it was suitable for us which it was, always on hand to help and in the morning and evening he would come around to see if the kids would like to feed the farm animals, this was a big hit with our kids. They have a little petting area nearby with sheep chickens and cows that you can stroke and feed.
There are some nice walks in the surrounding area too with maps available for free in the site shop. We chose this site initially because we were going to flamingo land 8 miles away on the saturday but I will use this site over and over again even if not visiting the theme park.
It is only a short drive to scarbourogh in one direction and york in the other and whitby is 45 minutes away and 5 minutes up the road is the eden camp a second word war museum.
There is a mobile fish and chip van which visits the site and stays for a while on an evening and the food was lovely another bonus!
One negative and this may have only been on my pitch but about 3-4 inches under the soil seemed to be solid rock and I had great difficulty getting my tent pegs in and bent just about everyone! no matter where on our pitch I moved it was the same but like I said this may have just been on my pitch I didn't ask anyone else if they had any problems on the site.
Other than this the pitches were very generous and level too. This little negative although frustrating did not spoil our stay at all. We loved this site and not once did we hear the dreaded dad, mam we are bored from the kids! Cant wait to get back there next year and will be staying longer next time too.

Fabulous site! A warm and friendly welcome from the owners. We were guided to our pitch on arrival which was much appreciated.
* Excellent value for money.
* The toilet block is very clean and fairly new. Also there are two family rooms (one with disable access).
* The pitches are evenly spread out so you have plenty of room for both unit and car.
* The little farm is great for young kids. We were also lucky enough to see the little lambs.
* The on site shop is very well stocked and the Fish n Chip van on a Saturday is really handy if your too tired to cook!
Can't fault this site, its pitch perfect! Can't wait to return.

Enjoyed a 3 night stay at site. Facilities were all in great order, showers & toilet block clean and modern with free use of fridge, tv and microwaves.
Site shop has a limited range though you are within driving distance of supermarkets in Malton and Scarborough. Nearest pub is a couple of miles away. Visits to Eden Camp, Helmsley Castle, Dalby Forest, Flamingoland a.Re all within easy reach
The site is located on top of the wolds in a fairly exposed location, which could be an issue in windy conditions - great for walking and bike riding though. Owners have on site kennel facilities should you wish to leave your dog on site.
If camping advise taking rock pegs due to chalk in fields.
Will definitely return

What a beautiful site. The facilities are first class. We have been before but took some 'newby' camping friends so had to go somewhere we knew was nice.
Our friends were very impressed and are now converted they cant wait to buy a tent. The owner and warden were great letting us know when the children could bottle feed the lambs.
The weather was so hot so the freezer for our ice packs was greatly appreciated (don't like warm beer!)
The shop is well stocked and a fish+chip van came on sat night. All in all we will go again its a little beauty !

Excellent ! 2 Adults, 2 kids (6 and 10)
We arrived for our Easter weekend on Good Friday. Received a warm welcome from the owner and a quick guided tour round the facilities. We were lead out to our non-Electric pitch in the corner of the field.
We explained our son had learning difficulties / autism and were told if we had any difficulties or problems on a night to ring him if we had any emergencies.
Anyway - the site is lovely.
Nice playground for kids.
Animals to feed, including lambs at 8am, 12, 2 4 and 7pm (my 6 yr old girl loved this)
2 free family baths. Clean and hot showers.
Fridge and freezer - the fridge was great for us Non-Electric campers.
Well stocked shop
Fish n Chip van Saturday night.
Walks into the wolds way - loads of bunnys.
Kennels £5 - which we used so we could go to York swimming, as the weather was so hot.
All said a wonderful experience with beautiful weather. We will be recommending this to anyone who will listen!

The facilities were excellent - really clean - hot free showers - well stocked reasonably priced shop - all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
We booked and paid for two weeks in advance, then we thought again - maybe we had made a mistake and wouldn't want to stay that long but when the time came to leave we were already making plans for next time.
It is central for touring various attractions which is what we did but had the weather been better we would have been happy to just sit and relax because it was so peaceful with lovely views.
Would recommend this site to anyone just wanting a quiet time or to families with children because all the young ones seemed happy with what was provided.

We have had 2 caravan breaks at Wolds Way so far. The camp site is very well maintained, is spotlessly clean and the staff/owners very helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble and when we were stuck due to the ground being too slippy after horrendous rain the site 'handy man' towed us out with his mini tractor. Walking is great from the site and very dog friendly, we saw foxes playing in the fields one day, plenty of other wild life also. Views from the site and local walks are lovely and I would not hesitate to recommend this location to other caravanners. We have been back twice and would certainly go again. It is set on a hill top so if windy can be exposed so make sure any awnings are well tied down. Access is very good, no narrow road or tricky access lane here. Beware of the farmer though who lives just down the lane from the site as he is not very nice and his dogs attacked our beagle while walking past causing life threatening injuries so we had to dash to a vets for emergency treatment. Good for kids as open play areas and very safe being away from the road. Site has a small shop selling essentials and village is not far away for other stuff. All in all an excellent site and well located with great wardens/staff. Top site

We chose this site based on uk campsite reviews and weren't disappointed. It's a brilliant site. Toilets and showers very clean. Family bathrooms brilliant for our daughter.
Site was quiet and peaceful. Enough for the children to do. Playground and plenty of space to play games. The pot wash room was large and the freezers and microwaves were lovely extras.
There are excellent views from the site and lots to do in the local area. The couple who run the site are very friendly and extremely helpful.
Will certainly return.

The pitch sizes were big and spacious and the staff were very friendly, with a lovely view across the valley. The toilet and shower block was very nice, clean and well kept.
The ground is hard, so take rock pegs with you, and the rules are adhered to by the campers. The only downside is, when the weather(wind) picks up, it is very exposed and on this bank holiday, it was very strong destroying a few tents. You have been warned
Overall good site, but I would ckeck the forecast before returning. If you want a good meal and pint then go to the main road and turn right, for about 1 mile there is the Dawney pub. Omly small but lovely food and Cask beer. Pickering and Malton are not to far away and a nice day out, just beware the A64 can get very busy.

WOW! What a fantastic site. Lovely views and spacious pitches. To make it an easy to read review I will list the good and bad points separately.
Good points.
1. We were led to out pitch, via a tour of the family room and bathrooms, by the owner and asked if it was ok. If not, he was happy to show us others. We were more than happy!
2. The animals were as friendly as the farmer, who loved the kids. He told the kids about the animals and let them stoke/feed them. The kids loved watching him bring in the harvest as well! :)
3. There are 3 toilets, 3 shower cubicles and a bathroom in each mens/ladies block. In addition, there are 2 bathrooms (1 with disabled access) and a separate toilet and shower room which are all well kept and if any problems arose then the owner sorted them immediately.
4. The playground is well used by the kids and very well loved. Unfortunately, as I write, there is no slide as it was 'bounced' upon by some 'bigger boys' (my daughter's comment) and split, but the owner swept in and removed it quickly replacing it with a sand pit.
5. There are plenty of hook up and water points around.
6. The shop is well stocked and prices are reasonable.
7. It is a fantastic site to stay on.
Bad points.
None really. Well, none to do with the site or owners. To be honest, the campers were all quiet and the site was very quiet by 10/11pm but.
. People didn't clean up after themselves in the bathroom and washing up area. I spent too much time cleaning the bath before I could use it for bathing my daughter and FAR too much time cleaning greasy food remains out of the sink before I could wash my own pots!
