Me and my husband are first time caravaners, and we were spoilt for choice in choosing a site, we opted for this one, because of the fantastic views, and surrounding attractions and I must say they are fantastic, (you can see for miles). I made my booking over the phone, everything straight forward, and very helpful. The road up to the site is half tarmac and a bit bumpy, but dont let this put you off, cause when you get to the top, the veiws are to die for. The reception was closed when we arrived, but I rang the number on the door and within minutes, help arrived (dellboy on his pickup. He was very helpful, took all our details and showed us too our pitch, helped us back our caravan into place, and then showed us all the facilites, the site was'nt to busy as school holidays had finished, very clean and quite ,the owners are very helpful,
Derek and carol. We really enjoyed our stay at Wolds Way, a very beautiful place in the country, and will be visiting again in the near future.

Well what can we say except 2 holidays this summer and 2 gem sites we visited.
After turning up at another site on Sunday 24th August to find the site under water and no chance of a refund from them we then searched the UKCampsite data base on Internet to come up with Wolds Way site situated about 45mins from Bridlington and what a site we found.
The owners of the campsite bent over backwards for us in the situation that we had and on arrival where shown the facilities which where excellent loads of toilets and showers which we did find slow and cold at certain points of the day.
The views we had over Yorkshire where just breath taking, pitch sizes where huge and plenty of water taps covering the site. Elsan point hid out of the way which was great so no kids playing in it. Gravel driveways all around and another site where campers didn't know what 10mph was.
Small playing area for the kids so it kept them happy for a while.
Pub local which had excellent service. We walked to it over the fields and found it no problem and only about 30-1hr away depending of your speed and moaning kids. Lol.
Would we return to this site. I think the only answer we could say was a BIG YES.

Just spent a great week at the Wolds Way site (despite the constant rain). Turned off the A64 up a windy road, past pigs, cows, sheep, horses and through lovely countryside. Reception/ shop fantastic, (Morrisons and Netto in Malton/Norton). Owners /staff so helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Pitches flat and spacious. Lovely and quiet at night, (no loud noise or traffic), lovely smells of barbecues and log fires too. Small playground for kids, lovely to see families spending time together playing cricket and bowls. Small laundry facilities, but always busy. Pot wash was a super idea, all in one room with microwaves, toaster, drinks machine, t.V. And d.V.D. But the best has to be the toilet block, spotless and no queues, private rooms with corner bath, which the kids loved and power showers for dad after a long country walk. Fantastic. Would have loved a hairdryer though. Loads to see and do within half/hour drive. Try the Foxhound Inn on the Filey road excellent meals and service. Campinggaz refills (£20) at BP garage just before Pickering the only one we could find. Camping supplies in Malton and Pickering town centres. Will definitely return to Wolds Way.

Just got home after spending 4 nights at this fantastic site. The weather was atrocious (the first night Monday night it rained all night and blew a gale and I didn't sleep at all) but the site itself more than made up for the weather.
The facilities are fantastic, plenty of showers, a bath for the kids and all of these kept as clean as can be reasonably expected (this week has been very wet and muddy but the showers etc were still very clean). There's a room for doing the washing up which has a TV and DVD player in as well as 2 microwaves , a fridge and freezer (all of which are free to use) and a coffee machine (50p). There's also a washing machine and tumble dryer on site (which came in handy with the wet weather and therefore inevitable muddy conditions). The shop has most essentials and plenty of non-essentials as well and what surprised me was how reasonable the prices were.
The site is quite remote so you have to travel a few miles to find a supermarket or something similar so you might think the on-site shop might be quite expensive but not at all and all credit to the owners for charging reasonable prices for things. Would definitely return and my mum and dad were impressed and are planning to visit as well. Well done Derek and Carol and sorry we didn't say thanks to you both when we left (if you read this then thanks for your wonderful site and a fantastic time).
By the way the EHU hookup indicated a max ampage of 16A which was nice, 10A is more usual I believe. We didn't have any problems using a heater, coolbox and light at the same time anyway.

Our first experience of camping with kids! What a lovely place with lovely people.
Facilities are the best I have come across, family bathrooms were top quality and lots of hot water. Plenty of space for the kids to run around.
No risk of road noise nor kids disapearing as site is good distance from road, only risk they had was the local bull named sprout. (He loves digestives!)
Stunning views
Owners could not have been more helpful, real lovely atmosphere.
Weather was awful, can be a bit exposed, but never put us off going back again!

What can you say, this sight is spot on. It is tucked away from the main road via a long farm track on a hill. This seclusion means you do not get any road noise or have to worry about the children straying.
The pitches are large and the ground while being stony and causing a few problems during pegging out, gives a very dry environment quite quickly after a down poor (typical English weather). The toilet and shower facilities are modern and plentiful and even though the site was full to capacity were kept in a very clean and tidy condition.
The owner actively encourages the feeding of his mixed herd of cows and a couple of sheep with digestive biscuits. Which the children absolutely adored doing. Also there is plenty of opportunity for short or longer walks around this area, through wooded areas and open fields. Although the children’s play ground is limited, there is plenty of space for them to run around and be kids. Definitely one to use!

10/10 for this site it is absolutely brill!
Cannot grumble about one thing. Toilets and showers are the best I have seen on a campsite, owners are really nice, shop was brill, facilities were fab. We were pitched near the park so our 3 yr old loved it.
Excellent location to get to pickering, filey, yorkshire moors etc.
It was beautiful getting out of your tent in a morning and looking out onto the rolling hills and farm animals.
Could not recommend this site enough.

We have just returned after a week to this lovely camp site. We had 2 caravans and between us we had 5 children who loved the park area and going to look at the horses and the new born piglets at the bottom off the track. The site is at the top of a hill up from the A64 (but the site is very quite with no road noise).
The toilet area is kept, very clean and always had Carex Hand Wash bottles available there is a family room with a shower and a corner bath and in the ladies there is another bath.
The sites Owners and Farmhand all very helpful and more than happy to help whilst we was there I had a flat tyre and the farmhand Del went for the jack and removed the tyre and put the spare on how many sites have you every been on where the staff are that helpful
The local supermarket was Morrison’s in Malton. We spent days at Filey and Scarborough, York and a good day out is Edan camp it takes around 3 hours plus to walk around just don’t go in the rain like we did.
Would I go back to this camp site yes that’s what my 4 year old said.

We have just returned from a visit to the this lovely camp site. It is at the top of a hill a mile up a track from the fast A64 (there is no road noise). This is the first camp site that I have visited with baths available for the campers and they were well kept, very clean and always had Carex Hand Wash bottles available.
The camping area is surrounded by caravans so there is some protection from the wind which could be strong at times. The ground has quite a lot of chalk based stones in it so it wouldn't be wise to rely on the cheap tent pegs that come with your tent.
The downsides were the lack of clothes washing and drying facilities (only one of each and always a queue) and there were only two dish washing sinks.
The Upsides Derek, Carol and Del. The sites Owners and Farmhand all very approachable and more than happy to recommend local destinations. I can honestly say I have never met more hospitable people.
I am sure that the little niggles, will be addressed as Derek seems to have a programme of continuous updates to his delightful site.
As for the local area, we found ourselves travelling up to an hour to get to places we wanted to visit, the local supermarket was Morrisons in Malton. There were enough places to see to merit many more visits to the area and undoubtedly this is what we shall do.

Just returned from 5 nights at Wolds Way with our 2 boys aged 9 and 3 and the dog and would definitley recommend it. Excellent facilities, in particular the family bathroom and we never had to queue for a shower.
There is a TV and DVD player in the family room which is just the job for keeping the kids happy whilst we wash the pots. Fantastic views, and we went on a couple of the walks which the owners give you a map for.
Although the site was fully booked on our last night it was by no means cramped with plenty of open space. Excellent value for money.
