Just had 2 nights on this site and got to say it was very good. The site has plenty of amenities and plenty of them. Showers always had hot water and my wife loved the corner bath in the family bathroom.

The owners are very friendly and helpful. And the sights are to die for! You do need rock pegs as the ground is very hard. The shop is useful and has the bare essentials.

Theres a small play area for the children and there's lots of walks around the park for people who like the fresh air, or who have a dog. It is about a mile off of the main road, so there's no pubs or shops within walking distance.

For those who go for the weekends there's a mobile fish and chip van that's comes for a hour on Saturdays and does decent fish and chips.

What a wonderful site, owners are friendly and welcoming. Arrived Friday evening 25th for 2 nights with 6 tents, plenty of children ages 2 - 14, 24 of us all in total.

* Spacious pitches, owners quick to sort the EHU out for us all.

* Facilities are lovely, modern and kept clean throughout the day.

* well stock shop at good prices.

* Lamb feeding such a treat for the younger ones.

* Play area is in eyes view, leaving you to sit and relax and able to watch the children play.

* Rock Pegs a must, the ground very hard.

* Lovely walks, with lovely views of the country side.

* Reasonable prices, well worth the money, we will be returning.

To top it all we had lovely, sunny, hot weather.

What a wonderful site this is. The owners are helpful and friendly. The facilities are second to none (the corner bath is lovely), shop has good choices and is well stocked, animals and country walks are a must and the whole site is clean and child / family friendly with no problems with kite flying and ball games.

Rock pegs are needed but hardly a problem. Would recommend this site to everyone and we will be back soon.

What a hol! We have just returned from a weekend at Woldsway with a group of friends. We had children ranging from 18 weeks to 8 years. The owners were so friendly and fantastic with the kids. The lamb feeding was such a treat for them.

The play area is small but well maintained with loads of room for ball games which the kids thought was fantastic. We even managed a rounders game!(with sponge ball!)

There was plenty of space around our units even though the campsite was full.

The shower blocks were lovely. There is 4 separate family bathrooms with either a bath, shower cubicle or both. The water did tend to cool down during busy times but we just worked around it and managed to have several piping hot showers!

There are some lovely walks/bike rides through the woods just at the side of the site.

I give this site a big thumbs up! We have already booked again!

What an amazing site! Great advise about the stone pegs; would not have managed without them. The staff on site are fantastic; nothing is too much trouble. Even got my car going after I managed to run the battery down.

The showers and bathrooms are a real treat and our dog Evie loved all the walks from the site. We will definitely be back.

An absolute gem of a campsite. From the moment we turned up we were made to feel welcome by the owner and his 'right hand man' - sorry didn't get his name.

The campsite and its facilities are kept nice and clean and any problems are sorted within minutes of it being reported - even 'out of hours'.

As mentioned in previous posts the ground is incredibly hard, the hardest I've ever come across so 'rock pegs' are a must and are on sale at the site shop if you happen to forget them.

The kids loved the play area and being able to feed the lambs 4 times a day and being so far away from any roads we felt at ease letting them wander around the site with their many new found friends.

We used it as a base to explore the Yorkshire coastline but there are so many attractions within easy driving distance you could spend a month at the site and still find something new to do every day.

We'll definitely be going back.

What a fantastic site - most helpful owners we have ever met, beautiful location, brilliant facilities, safe for the children (who didn't want to leave).

As mentioned by other reviewers the ground is hard, so remember rock pegs. Constant and unlimited (very hot) water, powerful showers and large bathrooms, all really clean (a blocked toilet was dealt with in minutes) and well stocked with loo roll and soap.

Small children's play area but loads of room for ball games as well, which are permitted at this site (unlike others we have visited). Children loved feeding the lambs and Derek always made sure each child got a turn at some point during their stay.

Also have dog kennels (£5.00 for the day) - great if you're going out for the day. Loads of places to visit - Eden Camp, Flamingo Land, Pickering, Scarborough, Filey etc. Lovely walks straight from the site. Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful site high up over looking the vale of pickering with outstanding views. Lovely friendly, helpful owners and staff. Toilets and shower/bath facilities are the best we've come across yet. Unbelievable really how well set out and clean they are, (bottle of lovely hand wash at every sink) like home from home really.

Even the pot washing area is indoors and spotless. Really don't feel like you are camping. These facilities really need to be seen to be believed! Area is amazing too. We had lovely walks and enjoyed watching all the different animals.

Also enjoyed drive into Malton and walk around. Only downfall we had was the wind but what do we expect so high up. Definitely be returning to this site its in our top 3 of favourites. Not come across any others were you can arrive from 7am either!

This site has a good location and helpful owners, the children enjoyed the access to the animals and the small park. As earlier reviews state, though, the ground is very rocky - hard ground pegs / stone pegs are essential - we ruined a number of 'normal' pegs.

The campsite was crowded - but this is probably to be expected on a bank holiday weekend. The following problems are likely to be related to the fact that the site was so busy, but, having paid for an electic hook-up, we were unhappy to find that there were 7 tents sharing 4 power supplies, causing the power to trip out repeatedly - until a canny fellow camper managed to sort the problem out for us all!

The toilets were clean and heated - we really liked the family 'bath' rooms, however, one morning there was no hot water whatsoever for our showers.

We had typical bank holiday weather - lots of wind and rain, and due to the site's location, it is very exposed - several campers had tents damaged in strong winds - so be aware of this.

Overall however, we would recommend the site and consider returning again.

Great site. Stayed here many times over last couple of years. Derrick and his wife are fantastic hosts and owners, he's got a great 'dry' sense of humour.

Site is continually being developed but retains that local charm. Still operates as a working farm and our dogs love it as there are so many walks. Showers and toilets clean. Well stocked shop with lots of local food.

If you want a special treat try and book into the log cabin. Showers to die for! Combination of permanent tourer pitches, tourer pitches and cabin sites. You can also leave your van in storage for small charge per night. A lot of walkers use it as a stop over while walking Wolds Way, not unknown for Derrick to cook them all breakfast!

Only small downside for me, is I like a pub to walk to, and nearest one is a couple of miles.
