The site is approached via a long tarmac track, just keep going until you reach the end.
It is surprisingly quite a large site with many seasonal caravan pitches.
The owners are very helpful and friendly. The facilities are well used and clean.
Hook up points and water seemed a bit haphazardly placed, grey water and chemical wc disposal at far end of site on left.
Shop on site, more shopping in Malton and Scarborough.
This is a nice site with really good open views, but, this site is not ideal for motor homes. We unfortunately arrived in the wet and dark and had to be helped onto a grass pitch and 3 days later towed off with great effort. It was lucky we carry a water barrel, pump and waste carrier, so we could empty and fill.
We would add that it really has been unseasonably wet this year and other times it might be OK, but would suggest leaving driving wheels on grip mats. During dry summer months we're sure that there would not be a problem.

Just retuned from a fantastic 5 day stay and could not have asked for more.
We were greeted and given a choice of pitches, facilities are fantastic, owners were so friendly & helpful.
Plenty to do within a few miles drive, nice pub down the road that served excellent food.
Cannot praise this site enough, no stupid rule posters everywhere, nice to be able to go onto a site and use common sense as far as rules and regulations are concerned. Other camp site owners ought to take a visit and take some lessons from them.
Will definitely be returning.

Phoned the site 2 days before we went. We were already looking at going to this area so decided to take a chance. We are so pleased we did. When we arrived we had to phone the owner to come and book us in and as I am disabled, we asked for a 'room with a view' near the loo's and that's just what we had. It was just inside on the right hand side with the van facing lovely views and also overlooking the picnic area.
It's a lovely site with clean loo's but the disabled one was very cold although has a radiator on the wall (not on). My husband loved the corner bath.
The site is situated in between York and Scarborough and the nearby town of Malton has a Morrison, Lidl and Sainsbury. Someone told me there is also an Asda where Netto used to be but we did not find it. There is a great butchers on the market square who sells his own hot pork, apple and smoked bacon pies amongst other flavours. There is a newly open fish and chip shop in Rillington just down the road and the Providence pub in Yedingham was good for Sunday lunch. The fish and chip van arrives on Saturday evening and although the fish was not bad the chips were not fresh cut, they tasted frozen (I know the difference as my daughter owns a fish and chip ship).
We have visited the area several times before and can highly recommend going to the Yorkshire Lavender Gardens at Terrington. They make the most yummy lavender scones with blueberry and lavender conserve and cream. Their pot of tea for two holds six cups of tea. Their gardens of lavender are beautiful and free. Don't go to Wolds Lavender which is next to the caravan park as is not very good. You have to pay to go round the gardens and their tea room isn't nice. Although you are a mile from the roads at this site, you can leave your car at the bottom of the road and catch the bus as the bus stop is just outside.
There were only a couple of things we did not like. Our van was approx 4-5 feet from the fence overlooking the picnic area but several adults kept walking past our van via this way instead of going round. They even moved our chairs out of the way to get past. Also some people let their dogs off their leads and the first weekend 3 couples arrived in tents and tried to pitch them about 4/5 feet from our van even though there was a huge open area in from of them. We did ask then to move away a bit as they had also enclosed our car with their tents so we could not have moved out.
All in all, we had a nice time at Wolds Way Caravan and Camping Park and if in the area would use it again and will certainly (and have already done so) recommend it to others.

We have been here for the Bank Holiday weekend.
We have enjoyed the site and would come again.
The showers and toilets were very good and never seemed to be busy.
The people running the site are helpful and the pitches are very generous in size.
Great for dogs and lots of easy dog walks including the Wolds Way.
Shop on site in well stocked although |I did want to buy sausages and they didn't have any!
Very good value for money at £21 per night for Bank Holiday.
Views spectacular.

Went to the site for 2 nights over a weekend, 8 adults in 2 tents, found the site quite easily only thing I could say is it could do with a sign earlier along the road as did not see it till the last minute.
Apart from that could not fault the site, facilities very clean and even though the site was quite busy never had to queue for the showers or toilets.
Great idea having a kitchen area with microwaves, fridge and sinks inside so you didn't have to stand in the rain to do the dishes.
Would definitely visit this site again

Just returned from a great stay at this site. Facilities are excellent, staff and owners very friendly. Weather was lovely and views are superb, real panoramic beauty. 7 of us in our tent had fun and reasonable priced WiFi put smiles on the teenagers faces.
Excellent location for Flamingo Land, Scarborough and York.
Don't forget the rock pegs! Although the well stocked shop does sell them. If you are there on a Saturday the fish n chip van arrives at 515.

What a fantastic camp site. This was my first camping trip with my 6 year old son and dog. We were able to pitch where we wanted and the owner came by to check I was ok putting the tent up.
The facilities were great especially the family room which enabled me to shower whilst my son was having a bath.
Lovely area with lots to do, Flamingo Land, NYMR Steam Train, Jorvik Centre, plenty of beaches which allowed dogs on in the summer season.
We will definitely be returning next year in fact my son wants to go for 2 weeks next time! Mind you we did have scorching weather.
Another plus is the kennels which enable you to leave you dog for visits where they are not allowed.

What a fantastic site. Wonderful views. When we arrived we were met by the grounds keeper who showed us the facilities. This consisted of a shop / reception. Pot wash room which had three microwaves, fridge freezer, toaster, hoover (handy for vac pack bags) a TV and two sinks. There was also a coffee machine which was a reasonable 40p.
We were then shown the showers and toilets the men’s were very clean and tidy with free hot water. There were two family rooms. After this we were advised of the laundry but didn’t need to visit during our stay.
The owners and staff were very helpful during our stay with very reasonable prices in the shop and for gas. I needed a replacement 4. 5kg Calor bottle which cost £15. 50 I thought this was good.
We were told we could pitch where we wanted and there was lots of spaces to choose from. There is a small play area for the children which we chose to pitch facing; the site was mainly full of families during our stay. As a result it was quiet by 11:30pm.
There is plenty to do nearby we visited Eden camp and the North Yorkshire moores railway. This was our first camping holiday as a family 2 adults and 2 children.
We will most definitely be returning as we loved it. The only pointer would be take some hard ground pegs as we found they were essential.

Just got home from this site and it is superb. Planning to return already. Staff very friendly. On our last day they told us that we didn't need to rush off and could stay as long as we liked.
They were laid back and friendly. Grandparents visited and they didn't want to know any details of how long they were staying etc. They let us pick where we wanted to pitch and left us to it.
The pitches are not marked out which is good for people with large tents. Good area for kids to play and nice park alongside it. Lovely walks and views and reasonable priced shop.
The showers did look a bit grubby but not so bad that I wouldn't go in them. They had excellent facilities with coffee machines, 3 microwaves, TV, potwash and toaster all in one room.

We have just returned from a lovely three night trip at Wolds Way. What a lovely campsite and we were blessed with fantastic weather. We went with 2 other families and we all agreed it was the best site we have stayed at so far.
We arrived on the Saturday morning to a warm welcome, quick check in and shown around the facilities. We were then taken to our pitches where we were told to pitch however we wanted (we pitched the 3 tents in a semi circle with a communal bit in the middle - suited us perfectly).
The tent area is a large field just next to the amenities, great for those late trips to the toilet! Tents were pitched around the edge with a large 'play' area in the middle, there was also a small park on the edge of the field which the children loved.
There is a well stocked shop which seemed to have a little bit of everything! On the Saturday night a mobile fish and chip shop visited the site, which we used and were grateful for after pitching and setting up, it saved us having to go out for tea!
The amenities are great, 2 bathrooms with full size baths, great for little ones who do not like the shower, the showers in both the ladies and men's were in a separate room to the toilets, again a feature we liked, they were kept clean and tidy. The site also went very quiet around 11pm which assured a good nights sleep.
The site is in a great area with loads to do, Filey, Whitby, Scarborough not to mention steam railways, flamingo land etc etc. Just one thing don't follow the sat nav using the post code, our tom tom took us into a pig field and then into a farm, where the very patient owner gave us directions after telling us last year they had 40 caravans over the season turn up there trying to find Wolds Way! Unfortunately, we just didn't get time to visit the animals that are on the site, but we will definitely be back.
