First visit, very nice clean site with a very hard working warden, nothing was too much trouble for him. Ideal for walking holidays around the Wolds Way. Will return in the near future for sure.
Plenty of water points and hookups. Toilet and shower block kept very clean. Handy for East Coast Resorts. A nice village pub close by 20 min walk.

When you first enter the gates at the bottom of the site just off the A64 you wonder are you doing the right thing. There is a road up a mile trek up to the site. And you think you are in the wrong place, until at the top of the road you reach Wolds Way campsite reception. WOW!
The reception area, toilets, shower blocks are just awesome ...as in clean and refreshing. We went in April with two other families with our tents. One was a three bedroom vango tent with 3 large bedrooms and our pitch still had plenty of space for car. Only downside is the ground - if camping you need stone pegs or thick pegs. Apart from that fantastic campsite. Carol and Derek have made this site one of the best for camping. Would I make any changes to this site?

Who would have thought that the long trek up the 1 & 1/2 mile track would lead to such a wonderful site. As you pull around into the site the new reception building is just in front of you, as you are about to get out of your car the owner Derek may come out to greet you, from that moment you feel welcome and at home. If you have children then there in for a little treat in the form of a sweet or lolly pop. (only a small gesture, but one that you would be hard pushed to find elsewhere).
The pitch sizes are very very large but as stated the ground is very stoney so I would not recommend standard pegs. The veiw from this site are breath-taking, there are lots of walks even the woldsway passes through the area hence the sites name.
There is plenty of fresh produce available at the onsite shop that seems to stock almost all the basics you would need. All the showers, driers, etc are free of charge. The childrens play area does seem to be for older children but does keep our three entertained for a while. if you fancey a B.B.Q you can hire a gas one from the owners for a nominal fee.
All in all this site is the place to be if you want a quiet break away from the hussle and bussle. I have been going to this site for a while now and was reluctant to leave a review because the more people that new about the site the more likley you would get the those undesireables but I think the owners Derek And Carole deserve a thumbs-up for a top class venue. Thank you Both.

Wonderful 4 days at Wolds Way, DEFINATLEY coming back in near future, clean, friendly, well laid out, tranqill, and the views, inspiringly awesome, the toilet block had everything you needed including a family room with a bath, the showers were extremly good with built in cubicles with a door so your clothes ect did not get wet, and a nice dry floor to stand on after. We were in a caravan, so had electric hook up, and plenty of room for the awning and car.Plenty of places to visit by car and plenty of places to walk! All in all a great place, Wish we could have stayed longer, but will next time!!!!!!!

August 2005 Just got back from this site today with my children aged 2 years and 5 years. The views are just beautiful - I spent most of last night gazing at the stars it was such a clear night and you just feel on top of the world!!
The facilities are absolutely immaculate and as previously mentioned you even get andrex toilet paper AND carex handwash in the toilets (no expense spared there then!)
The bath was a godsend and really clean.
I have never seen pitches so big on all the campsites I have stayed at, some friends had the pitch next to us and had a caravan and awning with annexe and their car, together with their friends tent and car and there was still plenty of room left.
Each pitch had its own water supply so you didn't have to go far when you ran out, and when the electric went off two nights in a row, Derek was straight there to fix the problem, although I think the problem was the fairy lights on the flagpole of a rather large group of cowboy dressed linedancers!!
On arrival we were asked if we would like newspapers ordering and the kids were given a lolipop each, which was a small but lovely gesture, my friends children went to say goodbye to Derek and the kids were even given sweets from Derek now you wouldn't get that anywhere else.
The only downside was that the playarea wasn't really suitable for my young children - aimed more at oplder ones, however this could be quite easily rectified with perhaps a swing and a slide.
The washing up area even had microwaves etc to use - all free of charge - Thankyou to Derek and Carol for your hospitality!

August 2005 This was our first time at the site, the owners are very friendly and helpful. The facilities were fantastic, there were 17 of us all together and we really enjoyed ourselves. The children loved playing in the cornfield. Thankyou to carol and derek for a lovely time.we will be returning soon.

August 2005 Good size field so there can be plenty of space between tents, even at busy weekends. The ground is very stony, but short pegs did the trick.
We stayed at the playground end of the site which was fine. Our only gripe was the fact that opposite us were 2 families staying together and they had the radio on until 12am. With loads of children on the site, I thought this was really inconsiderate, but wondered where the happy owners were to tell them to be quiet???
At this end of the field, the hedgerows are absolutely full of finches, so it would be a great site for twitchers. Even the cows are entertaining in the next field. In fact it sounds more like Jurassic park in the mornings! There are a few walks around the site and it would be great for cycling too. Facilities are super, and there's even a bath!!!!!!???????!!!!

August 2005 Wow what a fab site. We went to this site at the beginning of August and the week before we went it rained heavily so I expected the site to be a little wet. There is no chance of this site every getting boggy or flooded.
Derek and Carol the owners of this site cannot do enough for you. They are the most helpful and caring site managers we have every met, nothing is too much trouble.
The views are fabulous from the site. The toilet and shower facilities are wonderful. You even get Andrex toilet paper which is a luxury when camping. The washing facilities for your dishes are indoors and extremely clean.
There is a playground on site and a well stocked shop. There are plenty of walks from the site and is central for many attractions.
We loved the site and will definitely return.
Thank you Derek & Carol

August 2005 There is not much that can be added to the previous reviews. This campsite is most definitely the place to be, glorious views, large pitch, excellent facilities, the friendliest of welcomes.
Everything about this site is just perfect, nothing is too much trouble for the owners Derek and Carol. The toilet room facilities are second to none, free power showers, free bath (great for dirty kids), and always spotlessly clean even during busy periods.
I have just spent 16 days on this site and I will certainly be back again next year if not sooner. The freedom the kids had to run around without the worry of main roads was just wonderful, a very secure site.
Quite frankly I cannot say enough about this site, if you only have one holiday this year then make sure you choose this site. EXCELLENT!!!!!

August 2005 I agree with the other reviewers that this site is absolutely immaculate. The toilet / shower / washing up facilities seem to remain spotless throughout the day and there is a family bathroom which is a godsend if you have very young children. The shop is also excellent with a good range of emergency items (tea-bags, milk etc) and some local produce. I also agree with another reviewer that you MUST try the food at the nearby Ham & Cheese pub. The food and the service there are outstanding
