Just back from Wolds Way. Spacious site with lots of room between caravans. When we left was getting very busy with tents and children due to school holidays, and, of course, very noisy.
Showers and toilets could do with a good scrub - especially the floors - they looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Also stains in toilet bowl could easily have been removed with a good scrubbing. Having said that, there was always plenty of loo roll and paper towels.
Hot water was ok when the site wasn't busy, but ran out early morning once site started getting busy.
Shop great. Would have helped if opening times were posted on shop door & adhered to.
Lastly, would warn people about the road into the site - one mile of very steep gradient single track road, with very few passing places.

A fantastic site with great facilities and a warm welcome. We were there at the start of the school summer holiday but, even so, we didn't feel crowded and, as there are no specific pitches we could choose a suitable spot for our tent. The views are good, as it's on top of an escarpment, and you can see miles of rolling, green English countryside.
The high location also provides a welcome breeze (but no shade!) in warm weather, although it would become very windy in less clement weather. The campsite isn't really near anywhere, but it's close enough to the main road to make travel to York, Scarborough, Filey and plenty of other places easy by car. You can walk straight from the site, and there are some truly fantastic beaches within a shortish drive.
The washing and toilet facilities were excellent, with plenty of showers and loos and endless hot water. Although I didn't use it, my friend reports that the corner bath was a great addition! Provision of a fridge makes such a difference in hot weather when you don't want to go food shopping ever day. Not sure about a TV on a campsite, though!
The owners and other staff were very friendly and efficient, the site is relatively cheap and also supports a very basic shop and is superb value for money. I have a few very small gripes: The door to the toilet block didn't close properly, allowing all sorts of spiders and insects in during the night. It also made a lot of noise when it was caught by the wind which was quite intrusive in a tent, as was the rather excessive floodlighting, meaning it never really got dark enough to sleep properly.
The site is very family- and dog-friendly, running to a small play area, which looked great, but children and dogs were allowed to become a little annoying. Dogs should never be permitted to stick their noses into your dinner and if you're in a tent, you don't have a choice about putting your food on the ground! Parents also seemed to forget that not everyone wants to get woken up by their children at 6am on holiday and some did not make any effort to keep noise down. These are really quite small things, though, and the site overall is excellent.

We stayed here over the jubilee weekend, we were in our tourer and our friends came in there tent and was allowed to pitch next to each other which was perfect to celebrate the weekend.
Kids was well entertained with the park and feeding the animals.
Toilet facilities was always very clean
we were lucky enough to be on a plot which had a water tap really close so didn't take long to fill Aquaroll
The staff was very very friendly Delboy especially with his little 4x4 bombing around been helpfully
The only slight problem was over the bank holidays weekend it was very busy and most of the site would trip as it seemed to be over loaded but Delboy and the owners was always to hand to help resolve the issue.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Although looked ok, on closer inspection a few areas were a bit grubby, gents did smell and skylights in toilets were left open, so when it rained, if you're on the loo you got wet.
Also grass was being cut but not collected, so if you don't mind a lot grass in your caravan, then this place ain't that bad!
Price was ok too. the walks are brilliant and the farm animals are a joy to watch, just a shame that there was a lot of dog muck which some campers didn't pick up even though there were plenty of bins.
Chemical/water waste area was a trek but overall not bad for the price we paid but we have seen better camp sites.

Amazing views, amazing owners. Just a perfect site.
You need a car as miles from anywhere, but just sit outside van/tent and take in the views and birds. Really relaxing site with brilliant owners who take great pride in their business.
Toilet and showers were spotless even on busy weekends, little lambs, hens and ducks were adorable.
Left van in storage a very reasonable £1 per night and went back every weekend from March til May.
Will 100 % be back. Just love the place !

Our family visited over Easter for the first time and stayed for five nights. There was plenty of room for tents as the cold, wet weather put off most. But after fighting to erect our large tent in the pouring rain (my daughter composed a song about it), we settled down to a super break and didn’t regret braving the Easter chill.
The owners were extremely helpful and welcoming and the girls loved feeding the lambs. The site has a friendly atmosphere. Many pleasant campers passed the time of day with us and had helpful advice about the local area and we were entertained by the three chuckies who wandered in and out of our porch undeterred by the dog’s baleful stare.
The walk above the site was beautiful with the white knight sculptures- well worth a look! We hid away from the worst of the weather in York but will return hopefully in warmer times to explore the nearby coast.
Showers, toilets and baths were impressive in number and variety (and the hot water much appreciated to ensure you went to bed warm) but the facility that was so useful for us in the changeable weather was the kennels. Again, the owners were kindly flexible about the rather topsy-turvy hours we kept.
So pleased we discovered this site and we will be back.

Just called in to see the site, which is closed and opens 1st March. The owners and staff were on site getting ready for the new season and whoow what a fantastic site. The shower block was pristine all newly painted. With new shower pods going into the mens showers ( not that I could see anything wrong with the old ones). A company was in fitting new lights and hair driers in the shower block. Plumbers were working on more sinks in the pot wash. All in all it would seem the owners are investing a massive amount of time, effort and money to make this a real five star location.
There was new fencing going up in beetween some pitches, new hedge planting and all the roadways had just been covered with tarmac surface.
The site man also told me a new games field was to be built and he hoped there would be more animals this year, . Not a problem as he told me they also run the farm.

Yet again another fabulous trip. This is pretty much the only campsite we use now as it is that good. Carol and Derek are really helpful along with the maintenance man.
Facilities are great. Plenty of toilets and warm showers. Only issues were a bit of mould on ceiling, but nothing major and it was the end of the season so will probably be dealt with over the winter anyway. Also the tumble dryer didn't dry our clothes but luckily it was good weather so not a problem.
There were plenty of other families enjoying the weather but all the kids were well behaved and there was no noise at all overnight. We even had a couple lend us chairs as my sister forgot hers. Its a really friendly site to visit.
The kids have a field and park to run about in and the walks nearby are great. There were plenty of animals to see and feed.
There is loads of activities nearby too and we will definitely be going back next year!

We stayed at Wolds Way for four nights. This site has good facilities, two family rooms which include a bath, shower, sink and loo and also disabled facilities.
The family rooms could do with a bit more of a thorough clean as I though they were a bit mouldy looking - due to a lot of use I expect. It has quite a few single shower areas too, which I found very clean.
There was hot water everytime which could occasionally dip when someone flushed the loo or turned a shower on but this is to be expected.
Sometimes the mens loos could be dirty too. There is also a large warm, washing up room which includes two sinks, microwaves and a fridge freezer (which you can freeze blocks in for your coolers etc) it also has a good shop which sells anything from freshly laid free range eggs to tent pegs and the owner is pretty helpful too.
If you do stay at this site beware of the very hard ground as there is a lot of lime and normal tent pegs are not sufficient (We used rock pegs which are available at most camping shops and at the wolds way shop).
It is a pretty quiet spot, being approximately a mile up the hill from the main road but can be a little noisy during the day and early evening as it was quite busy when we visited.
Brilliant spot for kids as there is a pig farm at the bottom of the hill (which you can see from the road), highland cattle nearby and cheeky chickens actually on the site itself during the day.
There is also a playpark for the kids too! If you want a bit of peace and quiet however I would advise you not to go during the school holidays as the park was very busy and noisy at this time and the centre area of the campsite was unfortunately turned into a soccer pitch which led to numerous disruptions to other campers and myself.
However there was a noise curfew at approximately 11pm which meant a good night sleep!
Malton has a very good Cantonese takeaway too so if you get fed up with fried bangers or barbeques it makes a good change. Details for the take away are on the large noticeboard situated in the washing up room. It can get very cold at night, if staying in a tent, so take plenty of blankets, heaters etc.
It is also a brilliant site for visiting the surrounding areas such as Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Robin Hoods bay (charming) and Castle Howard. Overall a very pleasing site and we will be visiting again.

We stayed at Wolds Way for 6 nights. This is a gem of site, the facilities are first class and the owners have thought of everything which can make your stay here a lot easier.
There is a drinks machine in the washing up room so that when you arrive you can have drink if you need one, the price was 60p.
There are microwaves and toasters in the washing up room for campers to use, we had EHU so didn't use these but they are handy if you haven't got EHU. There is television for the children, great if it's raining. There are two sinks for washing pots and although the site was busy I think I only had to wait once.
The toilets and washrooms are new and clean and there are family bathroom and shower rooms which made showering my children easier. They are cleaned regularly and we never had to queue.
The playground is great for the children and there is also a small animal petting area with sheep, chickens and ducks.
The views from the site are amazing and it's so quiet no traffic noise at all. It's easy to find just off the A64.
The little site shop is handy for the essentials, we shopped at a little Sainsburys in Malton itself for other things we needed.
We visited York, parking at the Monks Cross Park and Ride. We also visited Filey, the beach there is lovely and great for children to play on. The resort is pretty quiet so anyone wanting a resort bigger and busier should probably go to Scarborough.
We also visted the Eden Camp War Museum, and Wolds Way Lavender which is just next door to the site.
Something to take into consideration if travelling up on the A64 the traffic at times can be very heavy and we got stuck in jam which added an hour on to our journey. This was on a Saturday at the end of July but when we were coming home the following Friday it didn't look much better!
Overall I would say this is one of the nicest site we've stayed on and would definitely return if visiting the area again.
