A pleasant well kept campsite.
The facilities were clean, the showers were hot and the pitching area was tidy.
The train line is very close but the trains didn’t run much through the night so didn’t really disturb our sleep.

My grown-up son and I met to go walking from the site on Saturday and Sunday.
We requested an early check-in to get tent pitched on the Saturday morning and that was no problem. We got to choose a nice flat spot for our tent.
We stopped out for food and drinks in Edale and when we got back around 11 the site was really quiet with most people already asleep.
Just one gents shower which was hot and free and we got lucky with no queue to use it.
Facilities as described.
Brilliant location to walk from. Very good value.
Would highly recommend the site.

Only a short walk to Edale. The site was quiet and the owners were very helpful.
Even though we had only booked 1 night, they let us leave our car there all day while we went walking which was much appreciated.

Lovely site in a brilliant location. Five minutes walk from Edale with it's two pubs and a train station. Brilliant base for walking or cycling.
The trails up to Mam Tor or Kinder Scout are right on your doorstep here. Medium size level field to pitch your tent where you like around the edge of the field, and a camper van field too.
Clean and tidy facilities with hot and cold water for washing up and the toilet block has a lovely hot shower. Friendly and helpful owner.
Be aware the Hope Valley train line runs a bit behind the site but I didn't find the train noise too distributing.
Loved my stay here as a great value perfect base for walking in the area with all the basic but clean facilities I needed.
Thoroughly recommend!

A very warm welcome from the family, showed me around the facilities which were ample and clean and tidy at all times.
Just what I required for my short stay for a running event and in easy walking distance to Edale village.

From the initial enquiry using the form on here, to meeting them, the owners were responsive and helpful when making the booking. They confirmed they had space and the price and told us the arrival details.
Upon arrival we were met by a lovely lady who showed us the fields, the locations of the facilities and left us to it.
The site is split in to two and we chose the further field, it is pretty flat and lots of options for your tent. They like you to pitch around the edges meaning the middle is open and pleasant to view.
Toilets were clean and well maintained, in the gents were two toilets, one shower and a urinal. The shower was push button and it worked fine.
Nothing for children, apart from the huge open space for them to run and play and enjoy themselves.
Plenty of fab views from the pitches of Mam Tor, Kinder Scout, etc. and made for a chilled out evening. No fires are allowed, but BBQ's are.
There is the Ramblers Inn and Old Nags Head pubs in Edale, Ramblers being just. 35 miles away, the Nags Head is further up the lane, however both do food, offer a good variety of drinks and have seating inside and out.
The walking from the site is great, with loads of options in al directions. We stayed here for a climbing weekend at Stanage Edge and that took about 30 moins in the car. Edale is close, 15 mins in car, and Castleton about 20mins.
Loads to see and do in the area, walking, climbing, potholing, caves, etc.
We paid £10 per person per night and I would stay again.

This is the second time at Waterside campsite; first as solo and my dog and this time I brought my mum and sister along, too.
We loved it.
Perfect place for surrounding walks and driving into the peaks.
Reasonable price at 10£ per person per night, dogs allowed, and super clean and tidy facilities including a shower!
Will definitely be back again!
