Lovely quiet site on a working farm with great views and 10min drive to castleton.
Near the train station (and therefore train line which the noise from might bother some people).
Guests are encouraged to be quiet and D of E groups were well managed.
There is a block with basic facilities which were usually not busy and cleaned regularly.
Stayed in my tent and was able to park next to it. Plenty of space to space out between other guests.
Great value for money.
Not suitable for boisterous family groups or for children to run around.

Lovely little camp site with the basics for a comfortable weekend camping.
Perfect location to walk up onto the peaks with a pub finish 10 minute walk away.
Clean, quiet and friendly.

A perfect location in the Vale of Edale.
Great for visiting Kinder Scout, Man Tor & Northern park of Peak District.
Responsive host and clear instructions in booking. Basic facilities (toilet, hot water shower, drinking water, wash up area) 100% meet our requirements.
The site is clean, neat & tidy.
The grounds are soft and no rocks beneath the soil made pitching up the tent easily but firm.
We're surrounded by sheeps, birds, and breeze and slept well for the 3 nights here.

Had no site booked on the day of travel. I did a quick online search, found the Waterside and sent an email enquiry. I received a very prompt reply and they were able to accommodate me.
In the shadow of Mam Tor, I was met at the site entrance on arrival by the friendly site owner who was happy to personally show me around the site and amenities.
The shower/toilet block was more than adequate.
The site was lovely and quiet with the occasional passingl train and bleating sheep adding to the ambience.
A short 10 minute walk to Edale and a welcome pint awaits.
I will definitely be booking again.

We enjoyed our stay at Waterside.
The pre-stay communication was responsive and clear, and the check in process was clear and easy with instructions emailed in advance and we were met on arrival by host, Jan.
We paid via online transfer using EE network (or cash ok). We were showed the site on arrival.
The site was three fairly flat small fields, plenty of room for us on a Saturday night, start of June.
The facilities were simple and clean - block with men's toilets and one shower, women's toilets and one shower, and pot washing sinks. Water hot in the shower - and free.
It was a 10 minute walk to Edale (good to cut through the overflow carpark nearby to avoid the road).

This our perfect type of site.
Basic needs met, well run and friendly. Toilet blocks were clean and obviously checked regularly.
Plenty of space no restrictions and we liked being able to park car next to tent, easier to load & unload.
Booking was easy and got a reply really quickly.

Friendly campsite, means friendly campers
I loved it here and I can’t wait to return, very scenic short walk into Edale or a nice little hike over the hill into castleton.
It’s a well kept old school campsite/ working farm please don’t change it.

Great, perfect no frills campsite for walking the nearby Kinderscout and Mam Tor ridge. Just right for £10 per night.
On arrival met by the owner who was very friendly and pointed out the best places to pitch. Plenty of flat ground to pitch and parked the car next to the tent.
Toilet block and washing up area was clean. Plenty of hot water. Good shower.
In the evening used The Old Nags Head in Grindsbrook Booth which was excellent for food and beer. What more could you ask for.
Will return in the future.

Friendly, helpful, and the site very clean.
Fields small and uneven but then cosy and quiet.
Very well located for lovely walks in the valley.
Very much enjoyed our stay. No recycling.

Well kept site with basic clean amenities and lovely views.
The access to footpaths is via a short section of quiet road - 100 yards - and a 10 minute walk to the nearest village.
Much quieter than the bigger site in the area. But it is next to a fairly busy railway line with occasional late night / early morning freight trains.
Space for the kids to play in the field.
