A good reasonably priced campsite with sufficient facilities for most weekends.
A couple of the fields of the campsite are quite close to the road, but the hedging blocks out a fair amount of the traffic noise and in fact I soon forgot the road was there at all.
Very occasionally I noticed a short queue of people waiting for showers and also for washing pots and pans; however it was a bank holiday weekend and I'm don't think providing extra facilities would be justified on a cost basis. The shower and washing up area was cleaned out on a regular basis.
The walk to the Train Station, nearest café and pub (The Ramblers) is about 15 minutes' walk with most of it on a footpath with a short section on the not too busy main road.
At the top end of the village, there is also another pub (The Nags Head) and a small shop that stocks a few basics, but for more food choice, the Spar in Hope is a good option.
All in all a friendly campsite that I would be happy to visit again.

One of the best campsites I have ever laid eyes on.
The ground is the perfect consistency for tent pitching.
The location is excellent, only a 3h 30m helicopter ride from London.

A fantastic basic campsite in a stunning location.
Very quiet with lovely owners a perfect base for all the area has to offer and I will definitely be returning.
A bit busy in the mornings with only 1 shower but not a problem as preferred to shower after the days activities.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Waterside Farm Campsite for three nights with our friends joining us for two nights this summer.
We really enjoyed our stay and the best thing about this campsite is the location!
It's a 10 minute walk into Edale village with two pubs, a National Trust cafe, visitor centre and even a pizza place!
You can also join the Kinder Scout and Mam Tor / castleton circular routes from here too.
The site is back to basics, (which is expected as it's very affordable) but offers everything you need including a warm shower and the other campers were very friendly which was lovely :)

I went to hike in the peaks with my friends and we each had our 1-2 person tents, the site was very accommodating and allowed us to pitch near each other.
My first time camping and I was told "you will hate it being at such a basic site".
The site was basic, no electricity, toilet block had 3 toilets and a shower, but all clean and lovely hot water shower.
Expecting the worst, I actually loved the simplicity! The site was close to Edale and the trails.
Phone signal was ok on EE, and also for someone who had the 3 network.
Would I do it again? YES!

Lovely campsite in great location; excellent value. Very walkable into Edale. Three sinks with hot and cold water, always topped up with liquid soap and paper towel.
One shower (no water temperature control but temp was perfect for me). Three toilets topped up with loo roll. (That's based on the female facilities. ) Two washing up sinks and drinking water tap.
Friendly on-site owners.
It didn't concern me at all - just be aware it is by the trainline (being so near Edale) and it is a farm with (cute) baaing sheep and other animals.

This is the first time I have been camping and my experience at this campsite has been a memorable one.
Basic facilities available and clean. Amazing views. Convenient location for short stay.
The owners are very friendly and hospitable and made our stay welcoming especially as we were a group of 9 ppl and they accommodated all of us so that we could pitch our tents together.
Would highly recommend this campsite! Thank you Waterside Farm!

Good location. Near many good walks.
Friendly and helpful owners.
Clean toilet and showers.
Peaceful. A nice place to get away from town and city and enjoy life at a slower pace

Great basic campsite for a short stay with all the needed facilities, toilets and shower etc.
Please note there is only 1 shower in the mens block, this wasn’t a problem during my stay but can imagine it could be busy some mornings.
Great location for hikes straight onto Kinder Scout and surrounding areas.
It is a 10 min walk from Edale however it is down a country road so bring torches if planning to walk after dark.

Toilet and shower facilities in great condition, the staff check regularly.
Walking distance to plenty of beautiful scenic walking trails.
Next to the road and a trainline but that caused surprisingly little disturbance.
Would be nice if the owners dictated a minimum distance between tents (not really the owners problem, apparently some people just don't have common sense - having a site policy could fix that)
