July 2003 Lovely spot in the centre of the Peak District, however the main Manchester/Sheffield train line approx 100 metres from the site didn't help.

June 2003 The campsite was in a wonderful location with fantastic views in all directions. Also, caravans are on a seperate field across the road which was good. It was easy to walk to the pubs/cafes in Edale. From the road the site doesn't look very good - it is poorly signed and there is a very messy building by the entrance. The site itself is fine though, with a gently sloping field that didn't get too crowded. At 830am there was no wait for the shower (which was warm) althougb the wash building could have used a lick of paint (I've seen worse but they were far from glamarous facilities). The train track wasn't a problem at all through the night. So long as you're not too fussy about the showers then the site makes a nice change from the larger sites in the centre of Edale.
